Last year, 622 volunteers completed
41 community projects in just one day!
With your help, we can do even more!
United Way’s 22nd Annual Day of Caring will take place on Friday, May 9th at the Genetti
Hotel & Conference Center in Wilkes-Barre. Once again, it will be held in conjunction with
our Awards Event.
The morning will kick-off with a short program and a complimentary continental breakfast will be provided
thanks to our friends at Wegmans. There is no cost to attend the event and it is open to all community
members, United Way volunteers and supporters. Day of Caring efforts will be highlighted and campaign
achievements and volunteers will be honored with a number of awards for their support of the United Way
and the 2013-2014 Campaign.
Doors will open at 8:00 AM.
The breakfast program will start at 8:30 AM.
The program will conclude at approximately 9:15 AM.
Immediately following the breakfast program, Day of Caring volunteers will
depart to their pre-selected community projects.

Deadline to RSVP for the breakfast is Wednesday, April 16th.
There is no charge to attend the breakfast, but each attendee is asked to bring
at least one canned food item to benefit the hungry in the Wyoming Valley.
Collected goods will be donated to the National Association
of Letter Carriers’ Food Drive.
Last year, more than 74 million pounds of food was collected
across the nation during this very special drive!

Day of Caring Project Registration
The deadline to sign up for a project is Friday, April 11th.
If you are affiliated with an organization and are that organization’s team leader, please click here to
complete the Company Project Selection Form. If you will only be participating by yourself (and are not part
of a company/large group), please click here to complete the Individual Project Selection Form.
Projects will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Just in case your first choice has
already been reserved by another individual or group, please list your top 4 choices by project
number and agency name on the selection form. Your project match will be confirmed within 3 business
days by e-mail. As we get closer to the event date, complete project details will be shared.
Day of Caring T-Shirt Registration
The deadline to register for a complimentary t-shirt is also Friday, April 11th.
Organization team leaders are asked to sign up for complimentary t-shirts on behalf of all of their
volunteers. Individuals not affiliated with an organization are eligible for t-shirts as well.
T-shirts can be picked up at the United Way office starting on Tuesday, May 6th.
