The International Friendship Group (IFG)
is a social organization for women living in
Lesotho, predominantly in the capital,
Maseru. It is a non-profit, non-religious,
apolitical association, which aims to
support and welcome all new arrivals to
Lesotho and to help various charitable
groups. Women of all nationalities are
eligible to join.
The International Friendship Group meets
monthly on Wednesdays at 10h.30am,
usually at the home of one of our
members. We try to arrange a variety of
activities and we raising money for a
charity in Lesotho.
This handy booklet is meant as a guide for
all new arrivals and expatriates and
contains only recommended places and
addresses by IFG members in and around
Maseru. Please confirm openings hours
with the establishments. And additional
details can be obtained from the tourist
information kiosk in Pioneer Mall.

Piet Retief (Main Street) in the direction
of Living Life, turn right into King Street
just before you see Ladybrand Scrapyard
/Andries Motors on your left. Drive past
Willi’s Solar Energy Saver (on your left)
and past a place called Motor Engineering
(also on your left). At the end of that
bumpy and sandy road, the one but last
house on the left before it curves has a
very steep driveway and there’s a small
sign on the left of the metallic gate saying
D.D.S. Scrap. They are usually open from
Mon. to Fri. 9am to 5pm. If you want to

They take cans/tins (and of course other
scrap metal) and paper. Unfortunately
they no longer take cardboard nor glass;
