JANUARY 3, 2016 St. Anne CATHOLIC CHURCH Mission St. Anne Parish, a Catholic community of faith, is joyfully committed to living the Gospel through worship and prayer, education, service, and stewardship. Mass Times Saturday: 5:30 p.m. Vigil Mass Sunday: 8 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.: 7:30 a.m. Saturday: 10 a.m. Reconciliation Saturday: 4-5 p.m., and by appointment Happy New Year! What are your goals for 2016? Millions will commit to make positive changes in their lifestyles, but will end up breaking their pledges within a matter of months. Being successful at achieving one or many New Year's resolutions takes plenty of determination, but it is doable. Here are five ways Catholics can connect their physical, mental and spiritual health in the new year, courtesy of Pope Francis: 1. Take care your relationship with God; it is the backbone of everything you are. 2. Tend to your family—give them time, attention and love. 3. Care for others—transform your faith into life and your words into good works. 4. Be careful how you speak, purify your tongue of offensive words and vulgarity. 5. Heal wounds of the heart with the oil of forgiveness. Eucharistic Adoration Friday: 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Clergy Rev. Jeremiah McCarthy, Pastor Rev. Jacob Almeter, Parochial Vicar Rev. Martin Eke, Parochial Vicar St. Anne Outreach Monday-Thursday: 8:30 a.m.-Noon 706-568-1592 Epiphany of the Lord The Epiphany of the Lord is the Christian feast observed on Jan. 6 (in most countries and dioceses, the celebration is transferred to the Sunday between Jan. 2 and Jan. 8; in 2016, Epiphany will be celebrated on Jan. 3). The word "epiphany" comes from the Greek Epiphaneia, a verb that means "to shine upon," "to manifest," or "to make known." Thus, the feast of the Epiphany celebrates the many ways that Christ has made Himself known to the world, mainly the three events that manifested the mission and divinity of Christ: the visit of the Magi (Matthew 2:1-12), the baptism of Jesus (Mark 1:9-11), and the miracle at Cana (John 2:1-11). The visit of the Magi is emphasized on Epiphany Day, and Christ's baptism is celebrated the first Sunday that follows. New Here? Welcome to St. Anne Catholic Church! We’re happy you’re here!
