Our MBBS program first started in 2004 with a visit to
China to develop cooperative program with the major
Chinese Universities. Since then more than 1200 students
from South Asia have availed themselves with educational
opportunities in various fields of studies.

Thank you for your interest in Dali University. We warmly and
sincerely welcome you to study in Dali University.
Dali University is located in a world-known tourist city- Dali,
a famous historical and cultural city in China. The University
is also one of the 90 Universities in China that the Chinese
Ministry of Education recommends for international students.
Dali University covers an area of 412 acres with extensive
beautiful campuses. There are more than 1200 teachers, of
whom 400 are professors or associate professors. There are
two hospitals affiliated to the University, and one is in Dali and
the other is in Kunming. The two hospitals have around 2500
beds with 1200 faculty and staff members. Currently the total
number of students on campus is around 25,000, including
1000 international students from 22 countries.
Dali University was established as a result of the combination
of four colleges: Dali Medical College, Dali Teachers College,
Dali Radio and Television College and Dali College of Industry,
and all of them had histories of more than 30 years. Now the
university offers programs in Liberal Arts, Science, Medical
Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Education, Law and
Management. Medical science and teacher training programs
are the most popular ones. The University has 16 colleges
and 5 scientific research institutes offering 28 master degree
programs, 45 undergraduate programs. All the programs are
open to international students.

Dali University
Overview
Dali University was established in 1978, which has a
history of more than 30 years. Now the University offers
programs in liberal arts, science, medical science,
engineering, education, economics, agriculture, law,
management and art. The University has 16 colleges and
8 scientific research institutes. It covers an area of over
2,300 mu (about 380 acres).
The total number of students studying at Dali University
is around 25,000, including over 1000 foreign students
from 22 countries such as the United States, France,
Denmark, England, Sweden, Australia, India, Pakistan,
Nepal, Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, the Laos and some
other countries. In recent years, over 5000 students from
22 countries were recruited into Dali University.
According to statistics issued by the China's Ministry of
Education in 2010, Dali University ranked number 40 out
of 2305 higher education institutes in terms of bachelor
degree students ; ranked number 1 in Yunnan Province
in terms of the total number of international students. So
far Dali University has over 1000 international students,
still ranks number 1 in Yunnan Province. Dali University
is in the name list of China's Ministry of Education to
recruit MBBS students In English Medium.
There are more than 1200 teachers, of whom more than

members. Dali University is one of the most attractive

development. Now the University offers 28 master degree

the country.
Dali University is located in Dali, the western part of
Yunnan Province. Dali boasts its long history and tradition,
its charming ethnic cultures and its beautiful natural
scenery. All these provide the University with an excellent
cultural foundation. Dali University has been strengthening
its exchange and cooperation programs with South Asian
and Southeast Asian countries, and with the United States,
England, Sweden, Australia, and some other countries.
The University has joint or exchange programs with many
Universities, higher institutions around the world.
In 2005, Dali University started International MBBS
Program for South Asian Students separately in English
Medium. Over past seven years the University has enrolled
more than 600 students from South Asia and around 200
students had already graduated from the University.

Dali University is under the Provincial
Government of Yunnan Province and is
listed with the World Health Organization
(WHO) and International Medical Education
Directory (IMED). Dali University is also
listed by Ministry of Education, PR China
to recruit foreign students for MBBS
program in English Medium. The University
is recognized from China Medical
Association. Nepal Medical Council (NMC)
has approved Dali University to enroll
Nepalese students.
Affiliated
Hospitals
In order to meet the requirements of higher
medical education and clinical resource
proper arrangement, Affiliated Hospital of
Dali University was established by Yunnan
provincial government in 1997. The hospital
covers a total area of 130 mu with the
floorage of 53670 square meters and 1000
beds and 31 clinical departments and 1
laboratory and 1 skill training center. Of all
the 571 staffs, 87 have advanced technical
title, 41 have Doctor or Master degree.
In 2003, the hospital united with clinical
Faculty of Dali University to share abundant
resources with each other. Now the hospital
has 18 teaching departments and pediatrics,
medicine and chirurgery master program
stations with 22 supervisors and 58 post
graduate students. The hospital also
assumes the function of teaching and
practice base for 5 medicine specialties in
Dali University.
There are many advanced medical
equipments in Affiliated Hospital of Dali
University, such as high-pressure oxygen
capsule, C-arm, GE800MA digital X-ray
machine, MRI, Extracorporeal shock wave
lithotripsy machine, hemodialysis machine.

Features Of
International MBBS Program
Duration
Total course is for six years. 5 years of academic course including preclinical
and clinical medicine. 1 year of rotatory internship as per hospital regulations.
Eligibility
Students completed 10+2 years of education or Intermediate of Science
equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as major subjects.
He / she must secure not less than 50% aggregate marks and individual
in PCB to get enrollment. Also students must secure minimum 50% marks
in MOE/TU (IOM)/KU/BPKH entrance exam.
Medium of Instructions
All the classes, activities in lab and examination will be in English Medium.
Students must study Chinese language compulsory in the first year which
may be extended further. This is for facilitating effective interaction during
clinical period and comfortable stay.
Dormitory
Students must stay in University dormitory. Spacious and comfortable
dormitories are provided separately to boys and girls student within
University premises. Every room is well furnished for all students in
international standard.
Food
University canteen offers hygienically prepared nutritious food. South
Asian Students can have similar taste food in the canteen as well as lots
of other tastes too. As Chinese foods are more popular in world, students
can also taste a Chinese flavor in Chinese Canteen.
Climates
Dali is located in south west part of China, so climate over here is pleasant
through out the year. Temperature of Dali city goes around (21 – 28) Degree
Celsius in summer and (3 – 18) Degree Celsius in winter.
Scholarships
Dali University provides scholarship to merit students who perform well
in semester’s exams as well as awards to best students and overall
performances.
Post Graduate Study
Dali University offer master degree program in 28 majors. Students
completing their MBBS program can final further opportunity of studying
MD/MS course

The curriculum is of 5 years of Clinical Course followed by 1 year of Internship. The syllabus includes all
subjects as per South Asian Countries Medical guidelines. The Medium of instructions shall be in English

Where is Dali University and how to reach?
Dali University is in Dali city of Yunnan Province. Kunming, Capital of Yunnan Province is connected with all

Who is eligible to study MBBS in Dali University?
Any students who has attained the age of 17 years and has passed 10+2 or Intermediate level in science faculty
with majoring Physic, Chemistry & Biology with minimum 50 % in Aggregate or individually in PCB. Students
must have studied and passed English as a compulsory subject.
5.
What is the medium of Study?
The Medium of Instruction shall be English. Your classes, exams and practical in labs are in English Medium.
However you must learn Chinese language. University provides Chinese language classes in first and second
year. This is for your comfortable stay and to interact with patient in hospitals while your clinical studies. You
must appear and pass Chinese Language exam as a part of your curriculum.

Where student can do internship?
You can do internship in Affiliated Hospital of Dali University or back home Nepal (If Govt. allowed). After
completing 5 years of academic course students have to apply in Hospitals which are recognized by government
for internship.
7.
Can student practice in Nepal after receiving degree?
Yes. Students have to register in Nepal Medical Council in order to practice as medical professional. Those
students clear Licensing Exam test are eligible and allowed to practice as all other doctors.
8.
Is the course approved by Nepal Medical Council?
Nepal medical Council cannot approve any foreign degree. Students after completing degree have to register
in NMC. Nepal Medical Council has approved Dali University to enroll Nepalese students.
9.
What will be the procedure of admission?
Eligible students have to submit all their required documents to the admission office in Nepal with Admission
fee. Further admission processing will be done from office.
10. How long will it take to get admission?
Normally it takes 30 – 45 days for admission in college. In China students have to admit in college as well as
registered in Provincial Government. For successful enrolled students college provides Admission Notice and
JW202 to apply for visa.
11. What will be the procedure of Visa?
Students can apply for visa in the Chinese Embassy in Nepal with complete documents provided by college
attached with Visa Application Form, Health Checkup Certificate and 6 months valid Passport. Normally it takes
2-6 days to receive visa.
12. What will be the mode of payment of College fees?
College fees are paid in yearly installments basis. All payments will be calculated in US Dollars. At China your
Food and other miscellaneous expenses has to be paid by you in RMB (Chinese Yuan).
13. Is China will be my best destination for MBBS study?
China is gaining its popularity in world in terms of trade, education and developments. People from different
sectors are attracted toward China. In this regards China has also attract lot of foreign students to peruse their
career in their Universities. Almost every University is operated by the government of China so students also
feel safe to study here. Besides, their huge infrastructure and latest technologies in every field of education
helps students to learn more.

About City
The Ancient City of Dali is one of the first 24 national
historical and cultural cities approved by the State
Council in 1982. The center of the city is 1,975 meters
above sea level and covers an area of approximately
3 km². Dali was the political, economic and cultural
center of Yunnan for more than 500 years, it was a
county established by Emperor Wudi of the Western
Han Dynasty and also used to be the capital of the
famous kingdoms of Nanzhao
Dali is well known for its varied history and
culture,natural landscape and ethnic customs. It was
one of the earliest cradles of frontier culture in
Southwest China. During the Tang and Song dynasties,
the kingdoms of Nanzhao and Dali created brilliant
ancient civilization around Dali "Town of Culture".
The beautiful landscapes of Cangshan Mountain and
Erhai lake are known all over the world and thus
reputed as "A Park of Nature".In addition, the colorful
local customs present "a museum of folk customs".
Dali was also a vital hub of communications on the
Shu-Indian Road and the Old Tea-Horse Caravan
Road. As a junction of the Yunnan-Burma Road and
the Yunnan-Tibet Road, Dali is a hub of
communications in West Yunnan and also an
important transfer station between inland China and
Southeast and South Asia.
Dali has many key national tourist areas. These
include one national scenic area (Dali), one national
nature reserve (Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake),
two historical cultural cities (Dali and Weishan), three
national 4A scenic areas (Island of Nazhao Customs,

Jizu in Binchuan), and six national cultural relics
