Children’s Recreation Activity Registration
Policy
All participants in Children’s Recreation activities must sign up for events in advance.
In order to run an efficient and quality program, we need to know how many children plan to participate in
order to have funds and materials for everyone to get the most out of their experience in Children’s
Recreation.
ANY CHILD WHO SHOWS UP FOR AN EVENT WITHOUT REGISTERING IN ADVANCE MAY
BE ASKED TO LEAVE IF THERE ARE NOT SUFFICIENT FUNDS, MATERIALS, SPACE IN
VANS, ETC. Please register, we would hate to r uin a child’s day or experience.
What if my child wants to sign up for an event but we are unsure about last-second changes
in scheduling, staff, etc.?
We would still prefer for you to pre-register your child. It is better to be prepared, and knowing how many
children plan on attending will make that process easier for us. Also, by signing up in advance, you will
walk in the door knowing that we are ready and planned for your child.
What if I do end up needing to cancel our event appointment?
As easy as it is to sign up for events in advance, it is just as easy to cancel. You can simply do this by
calling or emailing Mr. Adam.
Does advance registration also mean advance payment?
Not for most activities! Pre-payment is accepted but final payment is due at the time of the event. Some
events do require pre-purchase of materials or tickets. Credit will be given for payments made but not used.
What is the refund policy?
If you pay in advance and need to cancel, we will credit your payment to a future activity. However, if you
register for an activity requiring advanced ticket purchase, your fee may not be refunded if cancellation is
not made prior to purchase of tickets.
How To Register For Children’s Recreation Activities
There are three easy ways:
1. MAIL : This is your best option!! For those who prefer har d copy registr ation or are without email access,
please mail back your registration sheet with the list of selected dates along with the name of the staff member
who will be accompanying your child to:

2. EMAIL : Mr. Adam at [email protected] with the name and date of the activity you would like to attend.
Be sure to include the name of the staff member accompanying your child, if applicable.
Example: I would like to sign my child, Batman up for:
6/16– Bowling with PASS worker Robin
7/30 Exercise Club– no staff attending
8/6– Martial Arts with Respite worker Bat Girl– Meet at event
3. CALL : You can talk to Mr. Adam directly or leave a message. Please try to call at least 24 hours in advance of the
event, we will return messages to confirm registration.

Please Note:
 Most activities begin and end at the Larkin Recreation Building located behind Trudeau’s main building
 Transportation is available for most activities. If you are interested in providing your own transportation or meeting us
at the event please contact Mr. Adam for the time and location.
 PLEASE READ THE CALENDAR CAREFULLY!! Many of our events have times listed for when to meet for
transportation and when the events actually take place. Please be sure to follow the schedule as listed, we will contact
you for changes in the plan.

2015 Summer Descriptions
Adventureland (10 spots available) Adventureland is a theme par k located in Nar r agansett, RI and
is one of the hot spots for fun in the summer!! You can play mini golf, go for a ride on bumper boats, race
on the go-karts or play games at the arcade! Fee covers coordination and transportation only, families are
responsible for sending kids with extra money for the fun.
Bingo Night (Unlimited spots available) Join us in the Larkin Building for a fun night of BINGO! Win some
awesome prizes! Everybody gets 3 cards to play and you never know what prizes Mr. Adam will find!
Bowling (Unlimited spots available) J oin us for a fun night out with fr iends! Each child will get to bowl 2 games. A
great way to prep for our Bowling League next fall!!
Bowling League (25 spots available) SEE FLYER FOR DETAILS
Bowling League Party (Open to all member s of the Bowling League) This is a par ty to celebr ate the
phenomenal performances of all who participated in our first organized Bowling League!! You MUST
register so we can be sure to be ready for you!!
Ceramics (10 spots available) We will be going to the Pea Podder y studio in Cumber land, RI for a
relaxing afternoon. Fee covers coordination and transportation only, families are responsible to send child
with money to purchase pieces.

Dave & Buster’s (10 spots available) We’ll travel to Dave & Buster’s in Providence Place Mall for
some gaming. Children’s Recreation does have extra Power Cards if anybody needs one.

Karaoke (Unlimited spots available) Come sing your heart out with your friends! We’ll have your favorite hits on hand for you as we sing and dance the night away in the Larkin Recreation Building.

We will be watching a movie on our big screen TV and enjoying some popcorn. There will be a few different movies to choose from.

choose from. Staff can pay to play too! Fee covers coordination and games.

This class is designed more as a self-defense and anti-bullying class.
Students will combine basic martial arts skills with knowledge on how to
protect themselves. There will be lots of movement in each class so come

Take a Hike!!
With Children’s
Recreation!!
Take a break from Exercise Club and get your workout done while exploring the
beautiful nature of Rhode Island!! Each time we meet we will hike a different area.
The trails selected will be picked based on the ability to challenge our kids in a safe
environment. A healthy snack will be provided while we are on the trail!!

CRAFT NIGHT
With Miss Marta
Join us for an Arts and Crafts class like no
other. Miss Marta designs the monthly craft to
be theme-oriented and makes sure that they
challenge the kids to expand their
imagination and use their fine motor skills.

Flyers Class
We have been invited to participate in a program that combines the skills
gymnastics and circus exercise. This program is specifically designed for
kids with special needs and will focus on stretching, mild strength training
and basic tissue skills. It is a fantastic workout for both the body and mind!!

Adult Recreation Dances
Any participant in Children’s Recreation that is 16 Years of Age or older may also participate in
Adult Recreation activities. One of the most popular events is their monthly dance. Every dance
includes a snack bar, music, dancing, and a chance to socialize with peers. This is a great way to
spend a Friday night and meet new friends!!
Time: 7:00pm-9:30pm (Please note the doors will not open before 7:00pm, plan your staff and
ride accordingly)

Price: $6.00 at the door (Bring extra money for snacks at the snack bar)
