fresh produce program and the resources needed for your agency to get involved in future
distributions.
SESSION II
Working with Your Local Foundation- There is a wealth of information and services available to
your agency through local foundations. A panel of foundation leaders will share the ways in which
you can collaborate with their organization.
Mothers Milk Bank of Alabama- The MMBAL is a human breast milk bank that provides critically ill
infants in NICUs with life-saving breast milk donated by local mothers. Starting out as a CFBCA program, the MMBAL has grown rapidly into its own operation, with its headquarters remaining at the
CFBCA. Find out how your agency can be a part of this mission through community outreach or as a
collection site for local mothers.
Nutrition Education- Learn how to successfully encourage your clients to adopt healthy eating
habits and cook their own nutritious meals.
Growing Agency Capacity- Capacity building is the process of developing and strengthening an
organization to survive, adapt, and thrive amidst changing circumstances. Learn how to build your
agency’s capacity and leverage the Agency Network in response to growing community needs.
Improving Your Programs- Jon Barnacastle, our Programs Coordinator, discusses the CFBCA’s
recent work with local partners to identify and address unmet community needs. Learn how to
implement similar innovative programming at your own agency.
