2016CampgroundPolicyHighlights
We continue to monitor our guests' comments and contemplate ways to improve their
experienceatOceanLakes.Manyguestshaveheraldedthepolicymodificationsthatwehave
implemented during the last few years and we have seen guest behavior, and thus guest
experiences,improve.Weappreciateandvalueyourfeedback.Consistently,wearereceiving
complaintsaboutthreeissueswherethefewimpactthemany.
Pleasenoteyouwillbecharged$100afteryouarewarnedonceforthefollowing
violations:
1.Loud,lewdorvulgarmusicongolfcars,whilewalkingoratyoursite.
2.Opencontainersonyourgolfcar,orinyourpossessionoffyoursite.
3."Cruising"duringQuietHours(11PM–7AM)withnolegitimatedestination.
NoWarningsfortakingrentalcarsoffproperty!
NoWarningsforunderageorrecklessdriving!
AlsoNote:
•Dronesarenotpermittedintheparkforprivacyandsafetyreasons.
•Flagsmustfitintoa2ft.x2ft.size.Theymustnotimpedethevisionofthedriver.
•Aftermarketlightingispermittedongolfcarsaslongasitdoesnotblink,patternflashor

power. No motorcycle "Coasting" to site past unauthorized areas. Gas golf cars are not
allowed.Electricscootersandmopedsarepermitted(seepage14).Ridersmustobeyalltraffic
rules.

•AllvisitorsmustregisterattheMainOfficebeforeenteringthecampground.

• A parking permit is required inside Ocean Lakes. If you park in the overflowparking lot, a

•Guestsmustcleanupaftertheirpetsandaresubjecttoa$100 fine iftheydonot.Doggie
Doobagsareavailableforusethroughoutthecampground.
•Noparkingonbeachfrontovernight(beachsideofstreet).ParkingrestrictionsapplyINSEASONonbeachfrontbetween7PMand7AM.
• All trailers (utility, motorcycle, boat, etc.) must be on your site or placed inshort term

2016GolfCarRulesforEveryone
Violationsofthesepoliciesmayresultinafine.
•Drivermustbeatleast16yearsoldandhaveaVALIDdriver'slicenseintheirpossessionto
operateagolfcarinOceanLakes(alsoSCStateLaw).Youmustbe21yearsofagetosigna
rentalcontract.
•Privatelyownedgolfcarsmustberegisteredandhaveavalidregistrationstickerattachedto
thedriver'ssideofthefrontofthecar.Proofofproperliabilityinsurancemustbeshownwith
aminimumof$50,000coverageinPersonalInjuryandPropertyDamageheldonthegolfcar.
Be aware of South Carolina driving laws on public roads. There isa $25 charge for stickers
annually.
•NOgaspoweredormotorizedgolfcarsarepermitted.
• Golf cars operating after sunset must have the light(s) turned on. Lights must be
permanentlyattachedandatleastfourinchesindiameter.
•Flagsongolfcarsarenottoexceed24"x24".Nowhipantennasorextendedpostmounted
flagsarepermitted.
•Amaximumof5peoplecanbeonagolfcaratanygiventime.Amaximumof8peoplefora
limocar.
•Cruisingongolfcarsduringquiethoursisnotpermitted.
•Pleasekeepthevolumelevelonradios,stereos,orotheraudiodeviceslowsoothersarenot
disturbed.Vulgarorlewdlyricswillnotbetolerated.
•Noopencontainersofalcoholicbeveragesareallowedongolfcars.
•AnnualLeaseHoldersandtransientcampsitecarownersareresponsiblefortheoperationof
thegolfcarincludinganydamagesthatresultfromoperation.
• Annual Lease Holders must have 3" reflective site numbers on the front and back of their
golfcars.
•Golfcarsmustbeoperatedproperlyanddrivenonlyon roadways.Golfcarsarenotto be
drivenacrossvacantoroccupiedcampsites,thebeach,orinotherrestrictedareas.

•FirstOffenseofunderageorrecklessdriving:$100finewillbeleviedagainstthatsiteand
documentationrecordedinthesite'slinefile.

•Donotleaveyourpetunattendedatyourcampsite.

•Leashesmustnotexceed6feetinlength.
•YouMUSTcleanupafteryourpets.
•CAUTION-Securepetsongolfcars.
•NoPitBulls,Rottweilersoranyotherdangerousorexoticpetsallowed.
•PleasevisitourRecreationOfficeforinformationabouthavingpetsonthebeach.
