Welcome
In the midst of the Adirondacks, overlooking a small pristine lake,
stands the Friends Lake Inn. An elegant country inn offering
luxury accommodations and a relaxing atmosphere. This charming
and intimate inn captures the ambiance of the 19th century while
specializing in sophisticated 21st century cuisine and service. Each
event is custom designed, featuring 4-diamond culinary expertise,
staff, and atmosphere to create a very exclusive Adirondack event.

& CAPACITIES
MAIN DINING ROOM The simple yet elegant setting of our dining
room at the Inn will not disappoint for parties up to 85 persons. With
it’s original tin ceiling, wood burning fireplace and burnished woodwork glowing with rustic elegance, the Main Dining Room is sure to
enhance your experience.
LAKE VIEW DINING ROOM Full of windows with a beautiful lake
view providing a bright, sunny space for parties up to 24 persons. Perfect for Bridal or Baby Showers.
THE PARLOR With a gas burning fireplace, this private dining room
provides an intimate space perfect for groups of up to 28 persons.
WINE CELLAR DINING ROOM Hosts a maximum of 14 people.
Guests enter past a glass-enclosed portion of the cellar housing our
21,000 bottle wine collection. Unique menus are designed to pair a
multi-course dinner with exceptional wines. A Wine Cellar soiree
combines the best elements to create a truly memorable evening.
GARDEN TENT The beauty of the Adirondacks surrounds you as our
Gazebo, perennial gardens and brook fed pond provide a fabulous backdrop for parties of up to 150 guests.

Includes 5 hours of “Top Shelf” liquor & beer service, premium

TAB BAR
Alternatively you could choose to host a “bar tab” for your reception where we would simply keep a running tab of what is served to
your guests. This amount would be added to your final bill.

Our Wine Spectator Grand Award Winning list has over 2000
selections for you to choose from starting at $28/ bottle.
BEER
Premium Beer includes Domestic & Imported Bottles as well as a nonalcoholic option. Top shelf Open Bar adds 2 micro brews of your
choice including Saranac, Long Trail and Davidson Brothers.
Kegged beer is also available. We serve Saranac, Adirondack Brewery
or Lake Placid Brews for $300/keg, Magic Hat for $350/keg and
Davidson Brothers for $400/ keg.
Note: These prices are charged regardless of the amount consumed
from the keg. We are more than happy to accommodate special orders!

PREMIUM LIQUOR includes Absolute Vodka, Tanqueray Gin,

PLEASE BE ADVISED that alcoholic beverage service is regulated by the
New York State Alcoholic Beverage Control Board and as a licensee, we are
responsible for the administration of these regulations. Therefore, we adhere
to a strict policy that no liquor or wine be brought onto the promises from
outside sources due to our liability.

ELEGANT 3 COURSE MENU $60/ person
This formal style of dining will pamper you with all of the luxuries
of dining Friends Lake Inn style with exquisitely composed NewAmerican cuisine, professionally served by our seasoned staff.
OUR SIGNITURE SAMPLER RECEPTION $70/ person
A creative menu for a sophisticated yet casual party. An elaborate
assortment of our favorite dishes in appetizer size portions. Served
with Adirondack simplicity, these beautifully displayed hors
d‟oeuvres are “butlered” by our wait staff and are a meal in
themselves.
UNIQUE GARDEN WEDDING “Station Style” $65/ person
The Friends Lake Inn “Sampler Station Menu” selections accommodate large groups of up to 150 guests. This array of menu items
are displayed at various locations where guests can serve themselves at their leisure.

Rental Requirements
RENTAL FEES
Site rental fees for weddings and receptions at the Friends Lake Inn
for groups over 30 are as follows:
Friday or Sunday Afternoon……………………. $1000.00
Saturday Afternoon ……………………………. $1500.00
Friday or Sunday Evening …………………….. $2,000.00
Saturday Evening ……………………………… $2,500.00
Outdoor Garden & Evening Main Dining Room Events require the purchase of all guest rooms for the
wedding party, family, etc... as well as a 2 night minimum if booking a Saturday evening wedding. Food
service on Saturday evenings must be complete by 7pm.
* Outdoor Garden events must be planned as if it were going rain. Adequate tenting, tables and
chairs, etc. need to be rented. We will make the arrangements and a rental fee of $30/ person (min $1500)
will be added to the final cost of the reception. This fee includes the tent, tables, white padded chairs, linens
of your choice and perimeter lighting. Decorations are optional and would need to be provided by the bride
& groom.
* Additional Rental Upgrades such as chair covers, dance floors, special order linen, heaters, etc.
are available. We would be happy to include the cost of such items in your proposal.
DATES AVAILABLE
Unfortunately, it is not possible to offer an evening event in the Main Dining Room on Saturday evenings.
We can offer Saturday morning into the afternoon, or an alternate evening. For events offered in the Main
Dining room during the day, completion must be by 4pm. For groups of 30 and under, evening events may
be possible in the various private rooms.
General Information
MENU & TABLE ARRANGEMENTS
Menu, table diagrams and other information pertinent to the success of your event
will be needed no later than three ( 3 ) weeks prior to your special day. The
contents of our menus are merely suggestions. Our team of chefs will be happy to
design a special menu for you.
GUARANTEES
We require that you provide us with the final number of guests attending as well as
entrée counts, three ( 3 ) weeks prior to your event. We will consider this your
minimum guaranteed number of guests for which you will be charged, even if
fewer guests actually attend.
LODGING
We would be happy to assist you in arranging accommodations for your guests.
The Inn has 17 luxuriously appointed guest rooms, all with private baths. For the
convenience of your guests who would like to make their own arrangements, a
block of rooms may be held depending upon availability.
ENTERTAINMENT
To insure the comfort of all our guests, it is sometimes necessary for us to restrict
the type of entertainment allowed for indoor events. We do ask that all arrangements with regard to entertainment be approved by the Innkeepers to insure
adequate space and easy access.
WEDDING CAKES
Wedding cakes must be delivered at least one hour prior to the reception. You are
responsible for any equipment that must be returned. All items will be washed,
packed and placed at the gift table. We would be happy to offer a list of recommended bakers.
SERVICE CHARGE & TAX
All food & beverage is subject to an 18% service charge and 7% New York State
Sales Tax.
FINANCING
An initial deposit of 10% of the estimated cost (with a minimum of $500) is required to confirm your date. An additional deposit of 50% of your estimated total
bill is required three months prior to your function. Final payment of the bill is
expected two weeks prior. Should your actual bill be higher than estimated, the
balance will be due before departure on the day of your function. Credit cards
cannot be accepted as payment. Should you cancel your function, the deposit is
refunded only if we are able to re-book the date.

The Friends Lake Inn has been completely restored to its original beauty and quiet elegance providing a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. The Inn
offers lodging, fine dining, a superior wine collection, retail wine &
gifts and 25km of hiking, cross-country ski and snowshoe trails.
ACCOMMODATIONS
The seventeen guest rooms of our New York country inn are individually decorated and
luxuriously appointed with your comfort in mind, perfect for a romantic getaway. The
style of each room ranges from a warm country inn decor to the more rustic, but sumptuous "Adirondack" rooms, each with its own distinct personality, yet all offering romantic getaway accommodations in the heart of New York's Adirondack Mountains.
Which of our luxury filled rooms you choose depends on availability and the level of
amenities desired. Complimentary WiFi available
ROOM RATES
Our room rates range from $349-$499 per couple, and include a three course candlelit
dinner and full country breakfast for two. Bed and breakfast rates are also available
upon request. Please inquire about the many packages we offer for you to enjoy a
most memorable stay.
SPA TREATMENTS
Enjoy a relaxing massage, pedicure or manicure in the quiet comfort of your own room.
Hot Stone, Swedish or a Couples Massages available.

WINE BAR
A full-service bar and menu is offered in a comfortable atmosphere of oak woodwork,
and leather couches-ideal for socializing with old and new friends.
NORDIC CENTER
We offer 25km of wooded, groomed hiking, cross-country ski and snowshoe trails.
Rentals and lessons are available.
CONFERENCES
Our Adirondack Conference Room, and sun-filled “Murphy Room”, are the perfect
places to host intimate corporate meetings and executive retreats. Special lodging rates
available.
OTHER FACILITIES
The Inn maintains an in-ground heated swimming pool as well as beach rights on
Friends Lake for canoeing, kayaking and fishing, available to Inn guests. Guests can
relax by a fire in the "library” with a good book, or enjoy a cool drink under the gazebo. The outdoor sauna is a wonderful place to relax after a day of exercise.
OFF-SITE ACTIVITIES
Downhill skiing, whitewater rafting, horseback riding and golf are all within 20
minutes.
DAY TRIPS
Saratoga Race Track, the Adirondack Museum and Lake Placid all make a
wonderful day trip. Many antique shops are in the area as well as outlet shopping.

RANSPORTATION
AIR TRAVEL
The Friends Lake Inn is at least a 4 hour drive from major airports in the New York City area. Albany International Airport (Information Desk: 518-242-2299) is approximately 60 miles south of the Inn.
Car rentals are available at the airport, including Avis, Budget, Hertz and National (please see below for telephone numbers).
TRAIN TRAVEL
AMTRAK (800-872-7245) serves New York City to Montreal with a daily stop in Fort Edward, about 45
minutes from Chestertown. Limited car rentals, taxis (Lake George Taxi Co.: 518-668-9600), and Glens
Falls Transit system buses are available at the station. Unless you have arranged in advance for transportation from this more remote location, however, we recommend that you get off at Rensselaer/Albany (800872-7245) and pick up a limousine service or a rental car (shuttle service to car rental locations in Albany is
available throughout the day).
BUS TRAVEL
Greyhound (518-793-5052) maintains a regular schedule to the Lake George area. Adirondack Trailways
(518-793-5525) make stops in neighboring Warrensburg, Lake George, and Chestertown once daily for both
north and south-bound trips. You may arrange for transportation to and from Chestertown with one of our
reservationists.

From Albany and Points South (4½ hours from NYC) Take the NYS Thruway to Exit 24 in Albany and
take Exit 1N (after the toll) to I-87 North.
Drive approx. 1½ hours, take Exit 25 (Chestertown/Brant Lake). Turn LEFT onto Route 8 West.
Drive 3½ miles, take a LEFT onto Friends Lake Road. Bear right at the fork, drive 1mile.
Turn RIGHTonto the continuation of Friends Lake Road. Continue ¾ of a mile, the Inn will be on your RIGHT.
From Rutland, Vermont and Points East (1¾ hours) Travel 25 miles on 4 West to Whitehall, NY. Turn
LEFT onto 4 South, drive approx. 10 miles.
Turn RIGHTonto Route 149. Follow to the end of Route 149 (about 20 miles).
Turn LEFT onto Route 9. Follow signs to I-87 North
Take Exit 25 (Chestertown/Brant Lake). Turn LEFT onto Route 8 West.
Drive 3½ miles, take a LEFT onto Friends Lake Road. Bear right at the fork, drive 1mile.
Turn RIGHTonto the continuation of Friends Lake Road. Continue ¾ of a mile, the Inn will be on your RIGHT.
From Buffalo and Points West (5 hours) Drive East on NYS Thruway to Exit 33 (Rome/Route 365.)
Turn RIGHTonto Route 365 and follow until you reach Route 8. Turn LEFT onto Route 8 (about 2 hrs.).
After you pass the Loon Lake Dam (on your left),
Turn RIGHTonto Friends Lake Road. Bear right at the fork, drive 1mile.
Turn RIGHTonto the continuation of Friends Lake Road. Continue ¾ of a mile, the Inn will be on your RIGHT.
From Montreal and Points North (3 hours) Take I-87 South to Exit 25 (Chestertown/Brant Lake).
Turn RIGHT onto Route 8 WEST.
Drive 3½ miles, take a LEFT onto Friends Lake Road. Bear right at the fork, drive 1mile.

From Boston and Points East (4 ½ hours) Take the Mass. Turnpike to the NYS Thruway (I-90).
Get off at Exit B-1 to I-87 North. Turn LEFT onto Route 8 West.
Drive 3½ miles, take a LEFT onto Friends Lake Road. Bear right at the fork, drive 1mile.
Turn RIGHTonto the continuation of Friends Lake Road. Continue ¾ of a mile, the Inn will be on your RIGHT.
From The Sagamore Resort, Bolton Landing (25 minutes) Turn RIGHT onto Route 9N.
Drive North approx. 1½ miles, then turn LEFTonto County Route 11.
Follow this to I-87 North to Exit 25 (Chestertown/Brant Lake). Turn LEFT onto Route 8 West
Drive 3½ miles, take a LEFT onto Friends Lake Road. Bear right at the fork, drive 1mile.
Turn RIGHTonto the continuation of Friends Lake Road. Continue ¾ of a mile, the Inn will be on your RIGHT.
From Gore Mountain (20 minutes) Take Route 28 South toward Warrensburg.
After crossing the railroad tracks and the bridge at "The Glen", take a sharp LEFT onto Friends Lake Road. Drive
