Go Batty! The Congress Avenue bridge in downtown Austin is home to
some 1.5 million Mexican free-tailed bats. Each evening around sunset, the
bats emerge like a black cloud from the crevices of the bridge. Covering the countryside in search of food, it is estimated
that the bats consume from 10,000 to 30,000 pounds of insects each night.
GET ACTIVE. Austin features numerous open and recreational areas, Zilker Park and Town Lake Park are used for
everything ranging from soccer to volleyball, yoga to dog training, bicycle riding to disc golf tournaments. Outdoor festivals
and concerts, including the world-famous Austin City Limits Music Festival, claim these parks as their homes.

The Palmer Events Center (PEC) is located alongside Lady Bird
Lake, near downtown Austin. It is situated in the middle of Butler
Park, alongside the Long Center for the Performing Arts.
Directions From Interstate 35 in Austin, take exit 233, and head
west toward Riverside Dr. Proceed .3 miles and make a left onto
Barton Springs Rd. The Palmer Events Center and parking garage
are on the right. Auction signage will be posted.
