FDA Expectations for Supplier Quality
Session Takeaways:
June 12, 9 am – 10:30 am
How Lean Manufacturing strengthens a company’s
continuous improvement initiative
•
How to set targets, integrate plans and remain focused to
achieve company-wide priorities while managing change

Through recalls, seizures, injunctions and
more, FDA has considerable reach throughout
each link of your supply chain. To survive
FDA inspections and protect yourself and
your shareholders, you need to identify
and fix weak spots before they compromise the safety and
effectiveness of your products. Learn FDA’s latest expectations
for supplier management in this practical presentation, which
will include lessons learned from the front lines of FDA’s
enforcement initiatives.
Mr. Mazzeo recently retired from General Motors where he was an
executive with broad global experience in manufacturing and quality.
He assists small- to medium-sized companies, including medical device
manufacturing companies, with lean manufacturing and quality
management consulting services.

FDA’s latest expectations for managing supplier quality •
List of the links in your supply chain that you should and
must audit •
Where FDA rules and ISO requirements overlap and
diverge •
Importance of incorporating suppliers into your CAPA
system •
Using FDA’s Quality System Regulation (QSR) as a
roadmap for effective supplier management Six Steps to Design Planning Core Competency
June 12, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
Robert Packard, Founder,
Medical Device Academy
The ability to get products to market quickly
is the most important core competency for a
company to develop. Learn how to improve
the performance of your design teams by
sharing best practices in design planning,
including organization of your design plan for regulatory
compliance, how to perform an internal audit of design controls
and what aspects of the design process to measure as a quality
objective.

•
The use of Lean Manufacturing methods
has yielded significant reductions in waste,
improved quality, lower operating costs
and increased profitability. However, most
companies have not taken the next step
in the Lean Manufacturing journey. To reach the next level of
performance and results, the use of a Business Plan Deployment
Process enables the organization to set targets, integrate plans
and remain focused to achieve company-wide business priorities
while managing change.
