President’s Message
Dear Friends, Members, Volunteers and Staff:
Thank you for the opportunity to represent the Tibbits Opera Foundation and Arts Council, Inc., as President this past year. As my third year as President comes to close, I can’t
thank everyone enough for the friendship and support I have received. Tibbits continues
to hold a special place in my heart, as well as the hearts of many within our community.
Like so many years before, the support shown to Tibbits through the giving of time and
money continues to be amazing.
Many great things have happened at Tibbits during the past year, from a great Summer
Theatre line-up to another blockbuster auction. The restoration and maintenance of the
theatre continues to be of the highest priority, as we analyze what the next steps should
be. I continue to believe that Barton S. Tibbits would be very proud of how Tibbits has
come through its many shining transformations. This community’s belief in Tibbits is
just one example of Branch County coming together to make life a little better by providing a home for the arts. We look gratefully at the accomplishments of this past year
and excitedly towards the future.
Another extraordinary year of Tibbits Summer Theatre, featuring The Odd Couple,
Peter Pan, Pippin and Alone Together Again, is just around the corner. Attendance at
any of the many functions that take place at the Tibbits throughout the year, supports
Tibbits, local businesses and the surrounding communities.
Tibbits remains the symbol of what a community can accomplish with vision, desire,
focus and belief. It continues to provide a home for unique and diverse entertainment,
as well as being a historic landmark and destination. It is truly the jewel of downtown
Coldwater.
Thank you again, to all who continue to support such a wonderful entity! None of this is
possible without you.
Sincerely,
Brian P. Hodson, President
Tibbits Opera Foundation and Arts Council, Inc.

Executive Director's Report
There are risks and costs to action. But they are far less than the long range risks
of comfortable inaction.
~ John F. Kennedy
I look back at the year; it was clearly a good-news, bad-news kind of year. On the good
news side we continued to enjoy a great deal of attention from our beautiful façade. Tibbits Opera House received additional recognition in the form
of both awards and media coverage and of course it has become the photo hot spot for passers-by, patrons, high school
graduates and even wedding parties.
More good news, all of the recognition brought people to
Tibbits. Our total annual attendance for the year reached almost 31,000. Attendance and participation by children was
11,551. These numbers represent 7 percent and 14 percent
increases, respectively, over the prior year. Summer Theatre
saw a 12.5 percent increase in attendance. The use of the
theatre also increased adding 13 days to the total use. We are
seeing more weddings and have added church services to the
already busy schedule. The most exciting aspect is the number of new faces in the audience.
So what’s the bad news? Very simply, expenses were up, and they exceeded revenue.
However, even that unfortunate reality comes wrapped in positivity. Over the years Tibbits Opera Foundation has grown into a strong, stable organization. We had a loss this
year, but it is not as devastating as it was in the past. It will not require drastic cuts. The
board and staff have taken some aggressive proactive steps on the revenue side to turn
things around and the new year is starting strong.
It also needs to be noted, some of those increased expenses were by choice. Decisions
were made to try some new things to change the status quo. The question the board
asked was “How much more will we be able to do if we make a larger investment into
marketing of the theatre and her programs?” and “What if we invest in a very big dance
show like A Chorus Line, one previously thought of as impossible for us to present. We
took some risks. While they appear as losses this year, the benefits may be longer term. I
believe the results are yet to be seen.
We continue to set the bar higher. We continue to strive to provide more arts and cultural opportunities for our community. We continue to make Tibbits the place where
memories are created. Tibbits Opera House is a landmark for our community. Tibbits
programming continues to positively impact quality of life, education, and our local
economy. We will continue restoring and improving the building and her programs. We
will continue to make decisions for the long-term benefits of this organization.

Tibbits Endowment
Tibbits Opera House Endowment (TOHE) receives and administers endowment funds used to
support programming and maintenance for Tibbits Opera House. Separate from restoration
endeavors, the endowment’s purpose is to ensure the long-term viability of the building and
organization through endowed gifts.
This year the TOHE’s gifts to the organization focused on updating software and equipment,
maintaining the buildings safety and security standards and annual programming. With funds
from the endowment, Tibbits Opera House invested in new software that revolutionizes how we
manage patrons information and do business. Patron Manager allows us to track client ticket
purchases, memberships, sponsorships, restoration and general operation donations, volunteerism, special event participation and much more. The software also simplifies online ticket sales
which this year garnered $31,776, equating to 1,240 tickets purchased off the website. Building
and equipment maintenance included elevator testing, heating repair in the dressing rooms, a
tune-up for the Tibbits maintenance truck, plants for beautification on the grounds, and a camera security system. This year Tibbits Summer Theatre set a record for employing the largest
cast to date, possible with funds from the TOHE. There were no major expenses for the TOHE;
all administrative expenses were covered by the Tibbits Opera Foundation.
TOHE was established by the Tibbits Opera Foundation board in July 2003. It is a 501(c) 3
organization separate from the Tibbits Opera Foundation. Members of the TOHE board include
Jeff Dean (president), Tod Dally (vice president), Andrew Van Doren (secretary), Jim Gordon
(treasurer), J. Richard Colbeck, Ken Delaney, Brian Hodson and Ray Sebastian.
To date, funds within the endowment represent the gracious gifts of:
Harold J. "Dutch" Meier, M.D. Endowment Fund
Gloria & Norman Hawk and Gretchen & Raymond Dresser
Glen & Eileen Barnett Estate
Dick Fitzgerald Memorial
Marvin & Phyllis Rosenberg
Endowment Fund for Children’s Programming
Emma, Meredith and Madelynn Grife Fund - Children’s Programming
Alex Lomik - Children’s Programming Memorial Fund
Olga F. Wright - Children’s Programming Endowment Fund
TOHE accepts gifts of cash, securities, real and personal property which a donor wishes to
permanently endow. The board invests and manages these gifts for the benefit of Tibbits Opera
House, its programs, and the arts in our community. Only a portion of the interest or earnings is
distributed; the principal is preserved to provide a steady source of income. Persons interested
in receiving more information on the endowment, planned giving or the restoration may contact
Tibbits Opera House. Advisors are available to meet with donors about gifting options.

Summer Theatre
Tibbits Summer Theatre under the direction of Charles Burr assembled an excellent professional company of 64 actors, directors, designers, musicians and technical staff, all talented
individuals working together, in the harried schedule of summer stock—7 shows in 9 weeks.
The 51st season continued the mix of long time favorites and Broadway
offerings that were brand new to the Tibbits. The mix for 2014 of something old and something new seemed to please the two largest demographics of our core audience.
Audiences hummed along with The Look of Love—The Songs of Burt
Bacharach and Hal David which featured some of our best singing actors.
A Chorus Line was a seamless blending of dance and song with one of the
largest paid companies ever assembled. The ever popular Guys and Dolls
proved to be a huge crowd pleaser and Alone Together kept audiences
laughing as they recognized themselves up on the stage.
As we have since 1988, we had a strong Popcorn Theatre season. The
roster we produced included Treasure Island, Beauty and the Beast and
Jack and the Beanstalk. We brought in Steven’s Puppets’ production of
The Wizard of Oz and comedy juggler Josh Casey’s show Can’t Sit Still.
The total attendance (Mainstage and Popcorn together) grew 12.5% from
the previous season. While income was up, A Chorus Line’s expenses
were also up—with more people on stage and an extra four days of rehearsal that was mandatory for a show which was nonstop dance. While
all the extra money spent was clear to see in the production, it did not generate enough extra sales at the box office.
We once again had a grand mix of returning actors and many brand new
faces—faces theatre goers will see more of in future seasons. As the company gets slightly larger, to accommodate the new musicals, housing was
at a premium. Thank you to all our volunteers who opened their homes for
our summer company.
In the past we have been nominated for two or three Wilde Awards (the
Michigan Tony) each season. With a change in
their rules both the 2013 and 2014 season were
eligible for this September’s awards. Tibbits is
very proud to have jumped up to 11 nominations
and two honorable mentions.

Entertainment Series
Since it was built Tibbits Opera House
has presented a variety of what they used
to refer to as “Entertainments.” It has also
taken advantage of the building’s location
and convenient routing to bring in an outstanding line up of touring performers.
The 2013-14 Entertainment Series carried
on the tradition. It offered theatre, puppets, comedy and tragedy as well as classical and popular music. It also took advantage of its routing for major entertainers like The Hit Men, Lightwire Theatre
and of course, Jeff Daniels.
We opened the series with our own production of The Dixie Swim
Club for a nice light comedy featuring many of our Summer Theatre
regulars. In December Steven’s Puppets enthralled children and
adults alike with their production of Rumplestiltskin. A music concert
set for later that month had to be canceled due to illness of one of the
performers.
Amidst some challenging winter weather, The Hit Men gave an incredible show and capped off the City of Coldwater’s Ice Fest. Audiences enjoyed the stories of the road and the great musicianship of these performers who were The Four
Seasons with Frankie Valley.
Lightwire Theatre came to Tibbits after achieving a great deal of
recognition as a finalist on “America’s Got Talent.” Audiences
were amazed and mesmerized by the unique performance in which
the characters came to “light” out of the darkness to tell an entertaining tale through music
and action, and of course light!
Tibbits delved into the world of standup comedy with its own Coldwater Comedy Fest.
Featuring headliner Jeff Jenna along with
Danny Browing and emcee Andy Beningo the
show was fun and funny and resulted in
enough positive feedback to bring back in
2015 with a new set of comedians.
With a turn to the classical arts, Tibbits presented the Kalamazoo String Quartet in
April and Michigan Shakespeare Festival’s Romeo and Juliet in
May. Both were combined with school performances during the
day and the MSF also presented a workshop to our T-Tab group
on techniques of stage combat.
A late addition to the schedule actually became the opener for the
2014-15 Entertainment Series as beloved, Michigan-born actor
Jeff Daniels made his fourth appearance at the opera house.
Daniels an accomplished guitar player and songwriter, this time
performed his with son and the Ben Daniels Band. The series
made a profit of about $14,000 and contributed more than 2000
people to the total attendance at the theatre.

Special Events Report
Tibbits Opera House conducts many fundraising events throughout the year. Special events
coupled with our annual membership drive is the lifeblood of the organization. Gifts from the
private sector are becoming more and more important in helping Tibbits Opera House
continue to provide quality entertainment throughout the region.
Tibbits Annual Auction – October 26, 2013
34th Annual Auction “An Evening in Paris”
This years theme nodded to the theatres newly restored
French Second Empire Façade. French-themed decorations
included Impressionist posters, fleurs-de-lis and the Eiffel
Tower. 300 guests met mimes and a juggler as well as Napoleon, Marie Antoinette and other French aristocrats. The
event included food catered by the Branch Area Career Center Culinary Arts students, beverages, plenty of socializing
and plenty of bidding with more than 600 items donated.
New items included a give-away basket at the start of the
live auction to get the crowd warmed up as well as a successful wine pull offering a chance to win a bottle of wine
valued anywhere from $10 to $100.
The auction grossed $64,075.41 with a net profit of $57,236.48. Darren Spieth and Dan Satow, owners
of Norton Auctioneers and Spieth & Satow Auctioneers, served as auctioneers for the event which was
fast-paced and entertaining. High bid for the evening came on a complete orthodontic treatment for
which donor Dr. Baron Whateley offered a second to the alternate bidder. Other top items were two
separate dinners donated by Kathy and Rick Merrill and another offered by JR and Jennifer Colbeck.
These donors also offered second items to the alternate bidders. Total raised from items donated by these
three donors alone was nearly $16,000.
Golf Outing – June 16, 2014
With beautiful weather, 15 four-man teams hit the green on Monday, June 16 for the Tibbits Annual
Golf Tournament, held at the Coldwater Golf Club. The 18-hole scramble began with a few welcoming
words from committee chair, Mike Beckwith. Golfers were treated to a light breakfast prior to the 9 a.m.
shotgun start, and enjoyed proximity games, player’s gifts, prizes and an awards luncheon.
The annual fundraiser grossed $15,432.00, seeing a profit of $11,417.97. This year’s tournament title
sponsors were Bloom Dairy, Inc., Oak Prairie Farms, and Lennard Ag Co. Other event sponsors included: Adult and Pediatric Dental Care, ASAMA
Coldwater Manufacturing, Bobilya Chrysler Dodge
Jeep, Business Impressions, Community Health Center
of Branch County, Dean Insurance, The Foundation
Golf Center, Gordon’s Culligan Water Conditioning,
Attorney JR Colbeck and LifeCare Ambulance Service.
Thirty businesses supported the event by becoming
hole sponsors and 13 businesses and individuals donated wonderful door prizes distributed during the
luncheon. Next year’s tournament will take place on
Monday, June 15, 2015 at the Coldwater Golf Course.

Tibbits Young Audiences
Touching youth with quality arts experiences and supporting and supplementing the arts education
offered by the schools is the entire focus of Tibbits Young Audiences.
Tibbits Young Audiences (TYA) produces two shows a year, a fall show and a spring musical under the
direction of qualified volunteers. The productions are often the only contact some area youth have with
cultural based activities. They learn leadership, responsibility, teamwork and creativity all under the
guise of having fun.
Comic Book Artist was produced in October 2013 by TYA. It was a “super hero comedy” with 49 young
actors in grades fourth through eighth directed by Crystal Stavistke and produced by Tirsha Odisher.
The students represented the following cities: Allen, Angola, Athens, Bronson, Coldwater, Quincy, Sturgis, and Union City.
In March 2014 TYA presented the musical, The Emperor’s New Clothes by
Karen Boettcher-Tate. Under the leadership of director Julia Littley and producer Tirsha Odisher, 49 students in
grades fourth through eighth participated from Allen, Athens Bronson,
Coldwater, Quincy and Union City.
A children’s theatre audition workshop
was offered in August to students from
From The Emperor’s New Clothes
the local area in grades three and up to
prepare those who were interested in
the audition process for TYA. Hosted and taught by T-TAB, young actors participated in a three hour
workshop on the basics of auditioning and performance, culminating in a mock audition/presentation.
Thank you to Kiwanis for generously sponsoring the TYA program in 2013-2014.
Tibbits Teen Advisory Board (T-Tab)
T-Tab is an exceptionally busy group of 6-12 graders. They help behind the scenes at the theatre, at numerous community events and at T-Tab meetings. They learn about theatre and its workings, create and
produce their own events and performances. They have fun but in the process get organizational experience, build confidence, increase their self esteem, and develop leadership skills—all real life skills.
2013-2014 T-Tab members: Macneil Blansit, Helen Blansit, Ella Budd, Kaitlin Colyer, Proud Dumrongpun, Ben Fagen, Emily Fagen, Michayla Lock, Allie Marshall, Connor Michael, Asya Modert,
Linzy Jo Monks, Brynn Niedzwiecki, Nathan King, MacKenzie Pickell, Sarah Odom, Cami Price, Jenny
Shin, Jazmyne Sours, Alexis Sunday, Rylee Suday, Kaylee Swift, Mary Tate, Sabrina VanAuker & Erin
Washburn. Jillian Carey was the 2013-2014 T-Tab Advisor with Angela Washburn as her assistant coordinator.

Tibbits Boosters — Volunteers
Tibbits Boosters completed their 9th year supporting Tibbits Opera House and Arts Council. This year we
made a financial donation of over $1,500 as well as donated Popcorn Theatre tickets and a Tibbits Tile to
the Annual Auction. Our fundraisers included Kids' Art Rocks, the first Pirate Adventure, and the final
year for Dancing with the Celebrities.
Kids' Art Rocks presented 16 pieces of artwork created
by Branch County students during an open house in
the Art Gallery at Tibbits during the June Art Walk.
All artwork was rented out to local businesses to be on
display through July of 2015. This fundraiser has been
an annual event for five years and will continue next
year.
Tibbits Ahoy! A Pirate Adventure was the newest
fundraiser from the Tibbits Boosters. We had 24 kids
and 4 parents travel through the theater. They enjoyed
pirate activities and earned part of their pirate costume T-Tab’s Ben Fagen & Kaitlyn Colyer, receiving top
garb. Kids enjoyed writing a secret message, digging prize at 2014’s Dancing with the Celebrities.
for treasure, pinning a parrot on a pirate, throwing a
fish through a life ring, hearing a story and even learning a song and dance to perform on stage for their
parents! This was much fun, as we were led by our fearless Captain Pirate on the Slippery Squid at Port
Barton. We will be returning in the fall of 2015 with this event.
Our final year for Dancing with the Celebrities was different than previous years. In the past multiple
local couples fundraised during the summer and then danced on stage for an audience in September. This
year, due to unexpected circumstances, illness and injury by the final event only one couple remained.
With an array of new talented acts, we still had a great show. Our T-TAB couple, Ben Fagen and Kaitlyn Colyer won the glorious Disco Ball Trophy for the 7th and final Dancing with the Celebrities.
The volunteer reception this year, themed “Volunteers are Shining Stars”, recognized 50+ volunteers
with over 100 hours of recorded service with a personalized name badge and pin. Vera Renshaw was
honored as Volunteer of the Year. We also honored our volunteers with our first annual Ice Cream Social. Volunteers were invited to attend the event at the Coach Eby Center where the Booster Board
served ice cream sundaes as a thank you to the volunteers. The Sweet Adelines provided delightful entertainment while everyone enjoyed their ice cream.
Our annual Booster meeting was held at the end of
September in the art gallery at Tibbits. We were delighted to announce that 264 volunteers served over
8,700 hours of service to Tibbits this year. Suzanne
Fillmore was elected Treasurer and Joan Waterbury
was elected Member-at-large; both will serve two-year
terms.

Membership
Tibbits membership is the backbone of our programming. We tell our members that “We can’t
do it without you” and we mean that in every sense. Our corporate membership includes 38
members. 405 members make up our individual member list. Without this ongoing support,
we would not be able to offer the programming that we do, at affordable prices.
As part of Tibbits Entertainment Series, we welcomed The Hitmen to the Tibbits stage as well
as Coldwater Comedy Fest. These and many other events helped to warm and entertain audiences through a brutally cold winter! Once again Tibbits Summer Theatre 2014, offered a season of hit shows for one of the best seasons ever. None of this would be possible without our
loyal members.
Our individual and corporate membership roster has grown significantly as of late. We look
forward to another exciting year and want to be able to welcome even more members to our list
in the coming months!
The Tibbits membership committee deserves many thanks for their creativity and hard work in
obtaining new members.

Barton S. Tibbits Sponsor
One of the highlights of the annual Tibbits auction is the Barton S. Tibbits Sponsorship.
The winning bidder receives their choice of seats for every performance at the theatre for
the entire year. For 2014, Ralph and Carol Schafer became our BST Sponsors.

Memorials
Tibbits Opera House has a very long history and over its 132 years, easily hundreds of thousands of
souls have stepped on its stage to perform, sat in the house to watch the show, or spent hours making
theatre and performances “happen” whether for themselves, for the community, or for the arts.
Carolyn Stewart
(Dec. 27, 1952 – Nov. 28, 2014)
Carolyn worked at Tibbits for 15 years retiring in 2013. She worked here, but that is
really not the right word. Carolyn exuded passion for this theatre. She shared her passion with hundreds of volunteers who are the cogs and gears of the organization. Perhaps dearest to her, she shared her passion for Tibbits and theatre with hundreds of
youth either through the shows she directed for Tibbits Young Audiences or with TTab.
She taught young and old alike about theatre. She taught them about Tibbits history.
She shared with them the importance of giving and working. For the youth, if they
enjoyed performing and being backstage, she felt it was also important to understand the work that
makes it happen. She taught them the importance of community service and fundraising because she
wanted them to understand that’s the reality behind the applause.
There are many who share a deep passion and connection to Tibbits Opera House, feeling and understanding the energy within this old theatre. Perhaps that unique energy is the residue of all of the souls
who have crossed the boards over the years. If that is so, then we can feel confident a bit of Carolyn’s
spirit will live on within the collective energy that IS Tibbits.
Agnes Bopp
(July 16, 1922 – July 21, 2014)
Agnes was an active member of our community. She taught in the Coldwater Schools for 10 years and
was active with her church, the CHC Auxiliary, Meals on Wheels and many other community projects.
She was an avid reader and an enthusiastic supporter of the arts and children. Just like the pebble
dropped in a pond which creates a ripple of waves, Agnes nurtured a love of music in her family and
each of them has shared their talents creating an artistic ripple throughout our community. She served on
the Tibbits Young Audiences Committee at its formation and helped to lay the foundation for what the
program has become today, supporting productions with a cast of children and providing arts opportunities for the schools.
Greg Brayton
(July 23, 1955 – June 18, 2014)
Greg was a dedicated musician and performed throughout the community. He began his musical career
in high school and studied at the Montreau Music School of Jazz after graduation before attending the
Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati for a year. He started The Blind Man’s Bluff band and toured
throughout the U.S. and Canada. He performed many times on the Tibbits stage with his band and later
with the Coldwater Rotary Show and other events. He formed his own recording studio using it to assist
other musicians as well as businesses. More recently he was active in the praise band of his church and
continued to share his musical talents with our community.
Granger Preston
(Sept. 1, 1929 – July 17, 2014)
Granger was a hoofer with years of traveling and performing under his belt before he settled in Coldwater. He was well known for his tap dancing and playing the trumpet. He enjoyed teaching tap and began working with a group from Branch County Community Theatre a year ahead of time in order to prepare them for the tap-dancing musical 42nd Street. He performed many times on the Tibbits stage for
BCCT, for Young Michigan Dances and other opportunities. Even into his 80s you would find him
teaching tap at the Burnside Senior Center and always ready with a “roll” or a “break,” two of those basic taps steps you learned early on.

Restoration Report
With the completion of the façade restoration in 2013, much of 2014 has been dedicated
to planning what will come next, from project phasing to funding. A new design
development study, completed in January with assistance from the Cynthia Woods
Mitchell Fund for Historic Interiors, part of the National Trust for Historic Preservation,
turned focus to the interior. The study addresses, albeit less glamorous, but necessary
updates to outdated systems such as electrical, heating and cooling. It also addresses the
functionality of the stage and rigging system and how to bring them up to operating
standards of a modern theatre in the 21st century. Deciding on phasing and funding
approaches as well as how to schedule work around the theatres active schedule are
obstacles that will continue to be assessed, as Tibbits plans for continued restoration.
In 2014, with study in hand, attention has been placed on funding opportunities. Tibbits
Opera Foundation was awarded $5000 from Michigan Gas & Utilities toward
restoration. We continue to review corporate,
foundation and government grants and strategize
the most logical progression continued phasing.
Christine Delaney, Tom Roberts, AIA and
Brian Black accepting the GEM Award in
Historic Preservation from Nancy Finegood,
on behalf of MHPN.
Project timing and funding include research and
discussions on criteria for grant consideration,
timing for funding relative to actual construction
work, eligible and ineligible aspects of the project.
The goal is to formulate a plan for construction
which meets the needs of potential funders, works
within the total project scope and considers the
logistics of completing work while maintaining
operations.
The year was also marked by additional
recognition and accolades for the fine
craftsmanship and completion of the façade restoration. In June, Grand River Builders
accepted on our behalf the North American Copper in Architecture Award for the
exquisite work done on the façade. The Tibbits project was also accepted into the 20th
edition of Dichotomy, a journal on design, architecture, urbanism and community
development published by the University of Detroit Mercy. The piece was written and
submitted by architect, Tom Roberts, AIA.
In May, Tibbits was invited to participate at the Michigan Historic Preservation
Network’s annual conference. Christine Delaney lead a bus full of conference attendees
on a special tour of the theatre, while Randall Hazelbaker followed up with a short tour
of historic downtown Coldwater. Sarah Zimmer spoke on a workshop titled, “Small
Communities; Big Projects - Grassroots Preservation in Action,”. Later that evening
Tibbits received the GEM Award for Historic Preservation at a ceremony held at the
Michigan Theatre in Jackson, MI.

Arts Alive
Arts Alive has been busy this year, hosting six group exhibitions, four solo artist shows, two Art walks and a public art
contest that took place during Coldwater Ice Fest for the best
decorated tree, using yarn as the main material.
The group show with the greatest participation was, Shades of
Gray. This exhibit took place in the upper level of the gallery,
while solo artist, Matt Biolchini showed a body of work in
the lower level gallery. His exhibition opening was well attended and his artist talk, highly entertaining. Other solo artist included: Dennis James, Erik DeGroot and Kim Swain. Group shows included: Ice, Ice Baby; Bloomin’ Summer; Junk Mail; State of
Envy; and Identity Crisis.
Arts Alive, and the Downtown Business Association,
hosted successful Art Walks in the summer and fall.
Both local and regional artists were hosted by downtown
businesses and even in fall’s 20 degree weather, people
filled the downtown shops. These art walks are becoming increasingly popular and requests have been made
that we host a third one which may occur in conjunction
with Ice Fest.

Branch County Community Theatre
Branch County Community Theatre continued to help sustain the theatrical arts in Branch County
during our 2013-2014 season.
We kicked off our season with a production of the Arthur Miller classic The Crucible. In December,
we performed Harvey and took our show on the road for the first time by adding dates at the Bronson Theatre in addition to the Tibbits Opera House. In February we performed the 2014 Robert J.
Pickering Prize winner Golden Age which again saw strong attendance figures for an original show.
Willy Wonka was our spring musical with a very large cast presenting the children’s classic. Finally,
we wrapped up the season with Much Ado about Nothing as the second in our annual Shakespeare
in the Park productions at Heritage Park.
In addition to our shows, we were pleased to assist with Tibbits’ ongoing mission by serving as the
corporate sponsor for the Tibbits Summer Theatre production of Guys and Dolls. In addition to
sponsoring that show, BCCT also donated several pieces of lighting equipment to enhance the lighting effects available.
BCCT and our members continue to enjoy the opportunity to use the Tibbits Opera House to provide a venue for the arts in Branch County. We look forward to many more years of partnership and
growth together.
