Agiecut Attak™ Aggressively productive. Aggressively priced. Made in Switzerland. Exclusively for North America. AGIECUT AGIECUT How the West Will Win It’s time to fight back against your global competition. It’s time to invest in technology that will give you the power to keep (and take on new) more profitable business. Innovation is a core North American value. It’s a core Agie value. Together, it’s how we will win. Optimized for Medical & General Engineering Applications. Reliability. Autonomy. Accessibility. Accepts wire diameters of 0.008 to 0.013” Surface finishes down to 0.3 µm Ra (12 RMS) The Agiecut Attak™ — Made entirely in Switzerland. Exclusively for North America. Maintaining consistent quality year after year after year is one of the things Agie EDM systems do best. Swiss precision is sustainable precision. Here’s why: ÊCast Iron Components. All components of the Agiecut Attak are made of dynamically rigid, thermally stable cast iron. ÊC-Frame Design. By centrally locating the workpiece, guide system and table axis, we’ve achieved superior thermal stability, center of gravity and accuracy. ÊBall Screws / Linear Ways. The quality of our large diameter ball screws and THK linear guide ways has a direct effect on mechanical accuracy and overall machine tool life. ÊUV Axes. By isolating the UV axes outside the workzone they are protected from contamination. This design, coupled with Agie’s toroid guides, assures precise tapering and die-lands anywhere in the work zone. ÊMinimal Material Disturbance. With Agie, you get surface finishes down to 12 RMS with no white layer. Our Purecut™ feature prevents oxidation and rust on steel by combining specific pulse packages with electronic isolution of the work zone to improve cobalt leaching in carbides, and to eliminate bluing in exotic alloys such as titanium. Agie guarantees volumetric tolerancing of 0.0002” for the entire 29.5"x21.7"x9.8" Attak™ work area — not just in the middle of the table. This is a big benefit for multiple workpiece setups. A Real Agie. Accessible. With the Agiecut Attak, you get the same high performance wire system found on all Agiecut EDMs. Reliable threading, 55 lb. wire spools and long life wire guides keep you up and running round the clock. This translates into the lowest operating cost on the market. Hands down. An easy access work zone utilizes a wide drop-down front door and 4-sided table with universal clamping frame. And there’s a lot more: ÊUser friendly programming. 1300 pre-programmed feeds & speeds and three user modes (beginner, intermediate, and advanced) let you make the most of your operator skill level. ÊWorkModel™. You can conveniently store and recall recurring geometries with our WorkModel feature. Our Early Late™ feature adds to the Attak’s autonomy by giving you one-mouse-click ability to change manufacturing strategy on the fly to maximize uptime. ÊContact Manager. Only with Agie can you monitor and control your EDM system remotely from any PC, anywhere, over a secure modem connection. Contact Manager also permits authorized, real time support from the Agie service team. The result is maximum machine productivity and minimum down time. ÊA final way we’ve made the Attak accessible? A competitive price unlike any ever before for an Agiecut. The Remarkable Agiecut Wire System Combine Agie’s wire threader, guides and feed/disposal system and you have the most simple, reliable wire system on the market. The components are so simple and reliable in fact, that Agiecut EDMs have the lowest cost of operation on the market. Here are a few details: Ê Universal Wire Guide System. The patented, nonclogging Agie V-guide allows for the use of 0.008 to 0.013” wire, without changing the diamond guide. The 3-points of contact ensure that there is a zero clearance condition for the most reliable threading and straightest cuts in the industry. The diamond pins can be indexed to 4 positions, allowing Agie V-guides to last as long as 20,000 hours. Agie’s V-guide images left to right: Agiejet automatic wire threader, toroid pre-guide, wire feed path. Ê Agiejet™. The Agiejet automatic wire threader has only two moving parts (the wire cutter and the brake). The system uses a highpressure water jet for 99+% threading reliability without any annealing of the EDM wire. The system automatically re-threads after a wire break and restarts following a power failure. Ê Toroid Pre-Guide. Located in the upper and lower guide head is a toroid pre-guide. In taper cutting conditions of over two degrees, the Agie guide system changes the angle tangency from the Vguide to the toroid preguide. The toroid has a large radius on the inside diameter that reduces the stress on the EDM wire, providing more accurate tapers with better surface finish than round guide systems. Ê Wire Feed System. The Agiecut wire feed system combines a standard 55 lb. wire spool capacity with a simple to feed wire-loading system to provide up to 80 hours of erosion without changing wire spools. Wire is removed from the lower head using a suction tube to deliver spent wire to the wire chopper. Chopped wire is deposited into a removable container which is on rollers for easy handling. exploded view of upper guide Learn More About Agie’s Lowest Cost of Operation! Visit www.agieus.com/Advantage/ for details. The Universal Agievision Control Early Late™ lets you run multiple workpieces and automatically remove slugs. Why settle for a limited control, when you can have the best available today? Your operators can comfortably grow into Agievision, but they will never grow out of it. Improved programming time, setup time and unattended operation sweeten the entire timeline for every job. Lotto™ makes it easy to set up and run up to 30 workpieces on the table together. The Agiecut Attak, with powerful Agievision control, lets you respond flexibly to any situation. The easy-to-use Windows interface greatly simplifies setup and gives operators of any skill level the confidence they need to bring a “can-do” attitude to every job — whether they EDM every day or once a week. Ê Pieceinsert™. With the click of your mouse, you can deactivate a job in progress and activate an express job. Ê Dynamic Corner Control™. Dynamic corner control allows erosion at maximum cutting speeds at the specified accuracy, even in tight corners, because it compensates for wire drag and optimizes processing based on material type and thickness. Ê FormalCheck™. Verify data entry for completeness easily with FormalCheck. Missing information is displayed in plain text so that users with minimal EDM experience can produce good parts. Ê GrafiCheck™. Monitor current machining progress, at any time — just point and click, zoom, and rotate your view in 2D or 3D. Ê Lotto™. With Lotto, it’s easy to set up and run up to 30 workpieces on the table together — each job is set up and referenced as a separate file; then the files are highlighted to link them into a single job. No external CAM programming or timeconsuming command file is necessary. Ê UserSequence™. Define machining sequences (steps) independent of your CAM program with the UserSequence feature. It allows the operator to freely choose and optimize the erosion steps between multiple parts and/or geometries for efficiencies that match your priorities. Ê Variocut™. When workpieces have varying heights or through holes, Variocut automatically detects these and makes real time changes to power settings and flushing pressure. This improves overall part geometry, surface finish and unattended operation of difficult to machine components and reduces cutting time up to 25%. The Agiecut Attak reads existing geometry files in ISO 100 and IS0 123 format. Net Weight: 5908 lbs Control: Max.
