The highest bidder for an item is the purchaser of it and your bid should be the LAST bid on the sheet. The Services Auction Committee is the final arbiter of who is the highest bidder. 2. Purchasers will be billed shortly after the auction. Payment is due in full upon receipt of your bill. 3. If you are the purchaser of an item that you decide you do not want or will not be able take receipt of, you are still expected to pay for that item; if you had not put in the highest bid for the item, someone else would have purchased it. You may call the committee for the names of the next-highest bidders so that you may attempt to sell the item to them. 4. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to contact the donor to arrange for receipt of services or of goods that are not available at the auction. 5. Offerings of services are good for one year. Please don’t call someone after next year’s auction expecting them to render services bought at this year’s auction! 6. “Set Price” or Instant Gratification items - in addition to adding your bidding sticker to the bid sheet, please attach one to the item you have selected. (i.e. attach your sticker to the actual choice you want and then take it home with you after the live auction.) A special thanks to Party Cloths for their generous donation of table linen. Kids' Area Auction Rules 1. ANYONE. of any age, size, form or shape may purchase and bid in the kids' auction. Kids need not be present to benefit. 2. Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Sisters, Brothers, God Mothers/Fathers, Stepsiblings, Friends and Individuals of any age may bid or purchase the toys and gifts for those you love. 3. No purchases may be made with cash, credit card, barter or exchange for any items after the sale is finalized. All purchases will be included in the master list of purchases by each bidding family or persons to be billed directly after an accounting is assessed. This will result in one total amount owing. 4. Any individual, family and/or child or group of children may contribute an item or a service to be sold at the Auction through the usual contract process that allows for the item/service to be catalogued and identified properly. 5. Any child may purchase one or more sale items in the Child's area only with a parent's specific prior authorization and approval. A parent does not need to be present with the child to bid/purchase an item. The sale will be transacted at the time designated by using the numbered bid stickers of the parent. A parent sticker affixed to an item will presume parental approval for that sale. The sale becomes final at this point. 6. This year, the Children's Auction consists of 95% items for sale and 5% of larger items that can be bid on. Bids will be taken throughout up until the silent auction closes and set aside for the winning bidder. With regard to sale items, once a sale is made, the item with the identifying sticker will be removed from the display area and placed in a paper bag to be held till the end of the auction. Any additional items purchased will be placed in the same bag and kept together until the end of the auction and picked up by people going home. 7. For safety reasons, toys purchased may not be opened and played with during the auction. Those with multiple parts (games, puzzles) must remain together in tact until they are taken home, etc. 8. Once a sale is made, the identifying sticker will be removed and affixed to a corresponding item # on inventory sheet with the name of the purchaser. All items purchased by the same purchaser will be kept together. This accounting will be provided to Linda and Peggy for purposes of addition to the master list of purchasers by each purchasing family/bidder. 9. When the auction is over and participants decide to leave, parents can pick up the bags of purchases in the Children’s area. They will be entitled to pick up one free grab bag toy for each item purchased and for each bid made on the children's bid items. Grab bag toys may not be opened and played with on premises. 23 First Unitarian Universalist Church of Houston 5200 Fannin Houston, TX 77004-5899 Non - Profit Organization U.S. POSTAGE PAID HOUSTON, TEXAS Permit No 6078 Phone: 713-526-5200 Fax: 713-526-3037 www.firstuu.org RETURN SERVICE REQUESTED Centennial Celebration Committee Members, Data Entry, & Decorations Joan Waddill, Co-Chair Jon Naylor, Co-Chair Connie Acosta Michael Acosta Elizabeth Asnes Cathy Barnett Joan Bitar Evelyn (Bunny) Carlson Karen Carlson Lois Hardt Bob Hardt Trish Kolodney Debbie Lancaster Keddy Outlaw Kendra Pecci Sue Steinhardt Diane Stotz Katherine Vance Wendy Van Syckle Fall FUNdraiser and Auction Catalog First Unitarian Universalist Church Saturday, November 1, 2014 24
