2016 Royalty Change - Proration
!
Effective January 1, 2016 all distributions will be pro-rated
for any new births or deaths each year. #
!
Example: Presently if a child is born in October 2016 the
parents received all 12 months (the full amount) of the
royalty. Under the new directive, in this example, they
would receive 3 months (only the months after the birth
and not before).#

of. Our people were resilient

survivors now speaks volume
about how powerful and
resilient we are.”!

Everyone Welcome!
!
!
Fredericton, NB – We are
pleased to announce the
launch of the Where Do We
Stand film project on
December 9th, 2015 taking
place at Chief Harold Sappier
Memorial Elementary at 7pm.
!
Sponsored by St. Mary’s Child
and Family and St. Thomas
University, the launch party will
debut part 1 of a short film
series, Where Do We Stand
which highlight community
members of St. Mary’s and
illustrate their experiences with
identity.
!
Over the past few months, four
social work students from St.
!
!
!
!
Thomas University have
conducted filmed interviews of
various community members
from young children to older
adults. This video provides a
platform for individuals to share
their experiences about what
it’s like to live in St. Mary’s,
what it was like to grow up in
St. Mary’s as well as highlight
some of their favourite parts
about the community.
!
We hope that this film will
provide a diverse snapshot into
the St. Mary’s First Nations
community and offer insight into
how community members
actively participate in identity
formation.
