Looking back on 2016 . . .
We hope you have enjoyed your season with us, what a busy year it has been. 2016 has really
been a fun filled year with so many new things to try I hope you have managed to spend some
quality time with your friends and family enjoying everything that we have had to offer. With so
many sad things happening in the world it’s important for us all to take the time out and create
magical moments, and we really hope you have created some here at Butlins. Thank you again
for choosing to spend another year with us we look forward to seeing you here for many more
to come.
Here are just some of the highlights of 2016......
NEWACTIVITIES
We are always trying to add new activities to our programme of events, this year was no
different. Ninebots has been extremely popular with the children, and I’m sure it is a lot
harder than it looks but it definitely didn’t put anyone off trying. Our new academies Horrible
Histories, Dick & Dom & Brainiac, gave the children the opportunity to get up close and
personal and interact on a much smaller scale and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Another new
activity brought to the resort was our fabulous roller rink, for those of you who didn’t see it, it
was located just past The Beachcomber, a popular activity for the teenagers but also a great
opportunity for the whole family to get together and have some fun.
During the summer we have seen Splash Waterworld open Fridays and Mondays 7pm – 9pm,
and late night pool parties held on Saturdays and Wednesday 7pm -9pm. The Funfair has also
been open 7pm - 9pm everyday apart from a Friday and Monday. Offering more choice of where
you want to be and alternative options in the evening we didn’t have before. Did you try any of

RESTAURANTS
The Sun & Moon has had a makeover and has now been
re-named The Beachcomber, giving it a seaside theme.
Ludo’s has also had a new menu, have you tried it yet?
Our Caravan Owners receive a 15% discount in all restaurants
on production of your Caravan Owners pass, don’t forget to
carry it with you so you don’t miss out.
BREATHOFFRESHAIR
Did you know we now have designated smoking areas and smoke free
zones across the Resort? This has been very well received and I am sure
you will agree creates a much nicer environment and ambience.
You can find the designated smoking areas,
• On the right hand side of the Beachcomber just near to the fountains
• As you exit the skyline next to Splash Waterworld
• Straight opposite Reds next to Crazy Golf
• Next to the Lile Stars Fairground
• Opposite Front Room
If you are unsure at any time please stop and ask a member of team who will be happy to point
you in the right direction.
CARAVANVILLAGETRAIN
We have been running the Caravan Village train everyday this season apart from our check-in
days, (Friday and Monday) where we have a high number of guests arriving and leaving. We love
to see the excitement on the children’s faces when they spot it coming along the road. To make
it easier to get on the train we now have new train stop signs around the Caravan Village which
I am sure you will have seen. If you are not sure where the nearest stop sign is to your Caravan
please pop into caravan reception. For the 2017 season we will of course put them on our
Caravan Village maps.
NEWBARRIERS
You may have noticed now that the area in front of the Caravan Reception and Caravan Sales
Office has had barriers fied preventing cars parking. We are really happy with the difference
this has made, not only is the area much safer and more secure, we have been able to put deck
chairs and picnic benches out, creating more places to relax and switch off. We are currently
looking at new signage to ensure everyone is aware of other parking areas but in the meantime
please remember to advise your guests of the changes so they are familiar with where to go
before they arrive.
CARAVANRECEPTION
The Caravan Reception had a make over at the beginning of the season giving it a new and
welcoming feel. We also created a more private area for our Owners to book events, and liaise
with our Aersales Co-Ordinator Billie-Jo, giving you a personal and private place to talk away
from the hustle and bustle of the counter. I am sure you will agree it looks amazing thanks to our
in house Facilities team. It doesn’t stop there though, we are now about to start updating and
painting the exterior of the building giving it a fresh new look, so watch this space.
The Caravan Reception wasn’t the only place to have a makeover this season, have you popped
into the Caravan Sales new lounge area ? A completely new look with a lovely child friendly area,
and lounge seating. Please pop in and have a drink with us anytime you’re passing us on the
showground, the coffee machine is always on and we would love to have a chat and keep upto
date with how you’re enjoying your time here.

Join us for our Adult only party. The evening starts at 7.00pm and will take the form of a sit down meal and live
entertainment in the Yacht Club. There will also be a raffle and half price bar available for you. Please note there is
a small charge of £5.00 per adult, with all monies being donated to our resort charity. Advance booking is required
for this event as numbers are limited. You can make your booking with Billie-Jo, our Owners Events Coordinator,
in the caravan reception from 1st September 2016. N.B To book onto this event the registered owner will have to
be attending, there will be a maximum of 6 tickets available per owner and all attending must be permanent pass
holders.
Spa Evening - Saturday 15th October, 6.30pm - 8.30pm
Come along and spend an evening relaxing at our owners only spa experience. Meet at the caravan sales office at
6.15pm. Please note advance booking is required for this event as numbers are limited. There is a small charge of

our owner events so far this year, they have all been a
great success and we hope that each and every one
of you have enjoyed them.
This has been my first full season of running the events
at Butlins and I have loved every minute, I love spending
time with our owners and geing to know you all personally.

Please Note: As Sublet passes will be available to be processed on our new Online Account
System we have revised our charges and discounts accordingly.
For the 2017 season we will no longer be applying a £5 discount to bookings due to the
investment of our Online booking system, and as owners can now process the bookings online
themselves at a time that suits them.
The good news is we have now lowered the amendment charge from £20 to £10. Any
amendments to a booking once processed can only be amended by the Caravan Reception
team, the amendment charge will also replace the late booking charge. Any late bookings can
be processed onto the online booking system up to 48 hours before the holiday start date, any
bookings taken aer this time will need to be processed by the Caravan Reception team.
As soon as the new system is live we will be sending you a new Sublet Guide giving all the
information you need to know.
DAYPASSES
As a Caravan Photo pass holder, you are entitled to sign 2 guests in per day, a maximum of
4 per caravan per day. The cost of a day pass for the 2017 season will be £2 per person.
Access to the Caravan Village
during the winter months...
The Caravan Village will close on Thursday 30th November and the gates will be locked at 4pm.
Could I please remind all owners to vacate their caravan by 3.30pm to give you enough time to
leave the Caravan Village.
To keep the park safe and secure, access to the Caravan Village is not permied in December
and January. You can however visit and start to prepare your Caravan for the new season from
1st February 2017 between 10am – 3pm. Please remember to contact the park to let them know
you will be visiting before you set off. Please ensure you arrange any repairs or contractors
visiting your Caravan during these times.
Please be aware that the water will not be switched back on till the end of February to avoid any
frost damage.
Celebrations...
Mrs Graham celebrated a very special birthday on the 12th August
and still doesn’t look a day over 21, I wished she would share her
secret to looking so beautiful. We hope you had a fabulous birthday
and enjoyed the celebrations.

Congratulations to Steve & Cheryl, Steve popped the question to
Cheryl in the skyline on Saturday 3rd September with the help of the
Butlins team. A big surprise for Cheryl I am sure but a truly
magical moment she won’t forget in a hurry, we wish you both
a long and happy future together.
