INNAGURAL SHOW EXTRAVANGANZA Massive showing weekend in 2015 SHCV committee are proud to report it was a great success Plans are well under way for even bigger event in 2016 WATCH THIS PACE ALL STATES SHOWDOWN, (Friday and Saturday) Our New Event 2015 “DEBUTANTE OF THE YEAR” was held on the Saturday this was an event for horses not shown under saddle before 1st Jan 2015. The addition of a new partnership with Racing Victoria saw us combine to host the first NATIONAL OFF THE TRACK FINAL that was judged on the Saturday night, along with the OFF THE TRACK FASHIONS OFF THE FIELD. A true spectacle to watch and very popular. SHCV CLASSIC , (Sunday) (A 2016 GN Qualifier) Also Joining us for the weekend was The RPSBS Victorian Committee , they ran THE EQUINADE RIDDEN RIDING PONY PAGEANT. changes 2015/16 the SHCV years of change not only did we add new events and existing events got bigger we changed our clothing Logo and Society colours—these we first introduced at the Junior Show with rider winners receiving beautiful canes in Cane Covers with “Bling” logo. The clothing range came out at the All States weekend and proved very popluar, many sizes had sold out first day. We also had a wonderful weekend at Horse of the Year. Our new range includes - Woollen saddle cloths in three sizes to match 15” 16” and 17 “ saddles—Caps—Polo shirts both adult and children—Soft Shell Jackets—Vests—Dog Rugs in three sizes either waterproof winter or wool - any sz can be arranged just give us your dogs measurements. Liz will chair the SHCV Sponsorship Subcommittee, and will be joined by Nicole Morrison, Fiona Mardling and Emma Turnbull as the SHCV Committee Representatives. We understand that Sponsorship is not sourced easily and we also value the importance of looking after our Sponsors. Liz has worked hard over the past two years building a wonderful connection with our long time and more recent sponsors. After taking a short break, Liz returns to us with a new enthusiasm towards her role. We know we can not complete this mission alone, therefore we are seeking the help of current SHCV Members who would be interested in joining this subcommittee. A reminder that only Active Senior & Junior Riding Memberships include 24/7 Insurance Cover as part of the membership. A parent or legal guardian (court appointed) of a Junior Active Member needs to be a minimum Non Rider Member to sign paperwork and be the responsible officer for their child. The Membership year runs from 01/07 to 30/06 each year. Fees for the financial year are as follows : Active / Riding Member (17yrs & over) $130 Junior Active / Riding Member $100 Non Rider / Non Competitor Member $ 45 2016 GRAND NATIONALS rePORT Held over March 16th—19th The Gallery Equine Grand National Championships was again an amazing event. SHC members from all over Australia spent the year chasing the win to qua;ify to compete; the best of the best then coming together to compete for the coverted titles on offer. Many of you will have used the database recently to complete entries for Grand Nationals, Mac Bank etc. It is vital that your details in the database are 100% correct so please ensure you complete your Membership Form GREAT NEWS: The SHCV are in midst of organising a Young Judges Competition for our Members aged with ALL the required details. If your details change throughout the year please notify us ASAP. 16yrs-20yrs & 21yrs & under 25yrs. Monique brings with her great knowledge, enthusiasum and an eye for detail to ensure this event is a success. Although we are still in the planning stages, our vision is to make this a yearly competition with a State Final to be held at the All States Showdown each year. Entries for their show continued to grow for a young committee this is very encouraging. Sponsorship was well supported by local businesses. Again the date was suitable for many competitors who made the stop over on their way north to Canberra Royal. The show was well covered by several media publications' and the committee are now looking forward and planning already for their next event. The committee are also running clinics and measuring days and other activities in area keep up to date by FB and watching the calendar of events on website . Those SHCV members who have successfully applied to be upgraded to the National/Royal Judges List or members who have applied for the General List of Judges - will be able to sit their exams at the completion of the workshop. Any interested member of the SHCV or a SHC Affiliate is welcome to attend. NOTE: The SHC Judges Scheme Rules and Regulations requires a General Judge to attend one approved Judges Workshop is a specified three year period, and a National Judge shall attend one approved Judges Workshop within two consecutive specified three year periods. The specified three year periods are 2016 - 2018 inclusive. Applications for the General Judges List or Royal/National Judges List can be downloaded from the SHCV or SHCA websites.
