CEDAR GIRLS’ SECONDARY SCHOOL
Objectives
CCAs are an integral part of our students’ holistic,
well-rounded education.
Through CCAs, we aim to:
1. Nurture every student to their fullest potential;
2. Build exemplary character through authentic learning
situations;
3. Develop 21st century competencies and life skills
necessary for adaption in a rapidly changing world; and
4. Promote social integration and foster team and school
spirit.

CCA Policy
1. Participation in at least 1 CCA in mandatory for all
Secondary School students in Singapore Schools.
2. Transferring between 1 CCA to another is not
encouraged as it is important to have continuity in
the CCA experience.
3. Allocation of CCA is based on the following
considerations:
• Student’s preference & previous CCA background
• CCA teachers’ & coaches’ assessment of student’s
potential and suitability in the CCA
• Other school consideration e.g. CCA optimal capacity
etc.

CCA Policy
4. All CCA transfers will be dealt with on a case-bycase basis.
5. Students are to submit their request in writing to
Acting SH/CCA – Ms. Yang Peishan at
[email protected], stating:

their reasons for the change.

1. Points are awarded for leadership roles such as:

up.
3. Maximum awarded is 12 points.

Enrichment
1. Points are awarded for the completion of Character
Development Programme (CDP) modules from the
following 3 domains:
• Enterprise
• Citizenship
• Personal & Social Lifeskills
2. Points are awarded according to the total number
of modules completed over the 4 school years.
3. Maximum awarded is 4 points for 6 CDP modules
- 2 from each of the 3 domains and 2 sports
modules.

1. Points are awarded for participation in 1 main CCA
with at least 75% attendance rate.
2. Attendance rate of less than 50% will result in all
points accumulated to that year being annulled.
3. Points are also awarded for participation in:
• Intra-School Activities
• SYF Opening Ceremony
• National Day Parade
4. Points awarded for up to 3 activities will be totaled
up.
5. Maximum awarded is 10 points.

CCA Outside School
1. Students must participate in at least 1 CCA in
school before recognition can be given to other
activities outside of school.
2. CCA points can only be awarded under the
Achievement category in activities organized by
approved external organizations.
3. CCA points will not be awarded if students choose
to participate in activities offered by external
organizations but refuse to participate in the same
activities offered by the school.
4. Recognition will only be given for activities from
organizations approved by the school.
