About the Follies
Enjoy a Masterpiece of the 18th Century Romantic Garden
Movement’s art, created by the Shropshire Hill family to
overwhelm their guests’ visual and spiritual senses.
Journey on a magical walk through majestic woodlands and
along precipitous cliff edges, discover tunnels, bridges and
ravines, and explore the caves set high on Grotto Hill. From
there, marvel at the views over the Shropshire and Cheshire
plains to the distant Welsh mountains.
Restored in the late 20th Century, you too can experience
