When it comes to unique gifts, crafts and creations, Quesnel and the North Cariboo area offer a veritable smorgasbord for bountiful browsing. Willis Harper in downtown Quesnel is well worth a look, especially if you’re after a great selection of fine quality gifts. Be sure to visit Quesnel’s oldest standing building, the former Hudson’s Bay Trading Post at the downtown end of the historic Fraser River walking bridge, the longest wooden truss bridge in the world, where Cariboo Keepsakes offers a wonderful assortment of locally made arts, crafts and unique whatchamacallits. A good assortment of souvenirs is to be found at shops downtown. The Quesnel Museum has an excellent assortment of great souvenirs and postcards for all your friends and family. If you’re the artsy type, wander though Quesnel Art Gallery or any of several galleries in Wells.
