Ira Walker Band
2:30 p.m.
Since the group’s early days of acoustic based
Folk and Americana, they have evolved into a
hybrid of energetic, hook-driven Indie Rock and Blue Grass that
still pays tribute to their Folk roots. Having developed a strong and
dedicated local following, KA&P felt the need to expand. The band
has been on several small tours since then, taking them from Arizona
and Texas all the way out to New York and back. They are constantly
looking towards the future, sharing their music with new people, and
planning the next journey.
Ira’s songwriting, combined with his unique vocal
style and musicianship, are central to what the
blues are all about. Nominated in 2008 for a
Grammy as a producer, singer/songwriter Ira
Walker has just released his much awaited Blues CD “Blame Me”.
“Blame Me” runs the gamut of the Blues genre, from Texas and the
Mississippi Delta to Chicago. His musical pedigree has evolved into a
unique style of Blues, Rock, & Soul. This music will touch the soul and
raise your spirits!!
Ira has written and performed with a star studded list of Music Icons,
including Steve Miller, Eddie Money, Carlos Santana, Brian May, &
Tommy Castro. He toured Europe with Keb’ Mo in 2000.

as the director of the All-Star program since its inception. The Jazz
All-Stars are made up of some of the finest school jazz musicians
and several KUSD alumni, who serve as instructors throughout the
summer.in the Kenosha Unified School District. The band performs
a broad range of big band repertoire including music from jazz
legends like Count Basie, Les Hooper, Matt Harris, Bob Mintzer,
Gordon Goodwin and Wynton Marsalis
Frank Catalano Group

saxman to have performed with Miles Davis,
Randy Brecker, Charles Earland, Elvin Jones,
Stan Getz, Betty Carter, Von Freeman, Tito
Puente, Tony Bennett, Les Claypool and Louis Bellson while still in
high school! This led to his signing to Delmark Records at age 18
and a string of critically acclaimed recordings. Catalano has been
heard by millions of people all over the world thanks in part to 3
Grammy-winning and 11 Grammy-nominated recordings with artists
such as Jennifer Lopez, Destiny’s Child, and John Legend. Frank
Catalano’s new Ropeadope Recording, “God’s Gonna Cut You
Down” debuted at #2 on the iTunes Jazz sales chart and was the
#1 charting Instrumental album upon its release in April 2015.

Formed in 1983 by the Frazier brothers, the band has evolved from
playing the streets of the French Quarter to playing festivals and
stages all over the world. While committed to upholding the tradition
of brass bands, they have also extended themselves into the realms
of funk and hip-hop to create their signature sound. “Rebirth can be
precise whenever it wants to,” says The New York Times, “but it’s
more like a party than a machine. It’s a working model of the New
Orleans musical ethos: as long as everybody knows what they’re
doing, anyone can cut loose.” In the wake of the sometimesstringent competition among New Orleans brass bands, Rebirth is
the undisputed leader of the pack, and they show no signs of
slowing down.
Following the Grammy-winning Rebirth of New Orleans, Rebirth
Brass Band is at it again with Move Your Body, an infectious, grooveladen collection of hip-shakers sure to saturate the dance floor.

HarborPark Jazz, Rhythm & Blues Festival is one of many great events hosted
on Kenosha’s lakefront. We are happy to support an event that enhances our
community’s cultural offerings and draws visitors from throughout the region.
Dennis DuChene, President Kenosha Area Convention & Visitors Bureau
“The Harbor Park Jazz Rhythm & Blues Festival offers a chance for casual and
hard core jazz fans to experience some of the countries top performers in a well
run and thought out festival atmosphere. The location of the festival not only
makes it convenient for residence from both Illinois and Wisconsin to attend
but because it is held on the shores of Lake Michigan, it gives the audience an
incredible backdrop to look at while enjoying the music.” Chicago Jazz Magazine
Michael Jeffers, CEO Chicago Jazz Publishing and Entertainment
“I have attended the Mahone Harbor Fest Jazz event for many years and
thoroughly enjoy the entertainment, the food and the festivities by the beautiful
shores of Lake Michigan in Kenosha. Each and every year the Mahone
Foundation has made sure that Harbor Fest is a fun filled day of Blues and Jazz
music provided by local and nationally known artists. My friends and I look
forward to the event each year because it just gets better with time!”
