We, the family-run company Heffler, have made our profession of instrument construction into our passion. The
results are string instruments that through meticulous
craftsmanship and our constant desire to create only the
best are now counted among the top performing products in the international instrument market.
Our musical instruments are constructed by hand by
craftsmen with many years of experience using sophisticated techniques to German quality standards. Under
our brand labels Heffler and Klaus Heffler, we sell only
German-made instruments that meet the most stringent quality requirements. We also construct top-quality
reproductions of the instruments of the Stradivari and
Guarneri families, of Montagnana and Goffriller.
From the selection of the tonewood through to the finish
with our own special varnishes, every one of our instruments passes at each stage of its production through the
skilled hands of our luthiers and is subject to continuous
and rigorous quality controls. And this is because it is our
intention to ensure that the name Heffler is synonymous
with the concept of brilliance in sound.

We started out providing top quality surface varnishes for
musical instruments and this subsequently developed into
a desire to make our own instruments and thus provide
musicians with that which would perfectly meet their
wants and needs. The encouraging response we have

motivates us to achieve increasingly better results.

Student cellos
Student/concert/master violins
All our violins, from student to master quality instruments,
are high-grade handcrafted products manufactured to top
quality specifications from the very best materials. The
more ardent student and the professional musician will
find the instrument that is perfect for their needs among
our products. Fine timbers that have been matured over
many years form the basis of our master violins and these
are combined through the skills of our luthiers to result in
the most flawless of instruments. Each of these is finally
hand-finished with our antique-style varnishes to produce
an individual masterpiece. Made in Germany by Heffler.
One of the highlights among our range is our Stradivari
model, which is crafted and made ready to play to individual requirements.
Our instruments for students are made of German tonewoods that have been matured over several years and
must pass strict controls. Following individualised construction, our cellos are adapted to the individual needs
of the musicians by our luthiers. Our student instruments
are of a high quality and are characterised by their ease of
playability.
Concert cellos
The very finest hand-applied varnishes and selected rosewoods provide our concert instruments with an incomparable range of cello tones. We also construct reproductions of Stradivari, Guarneri, Montagnana and Goffriller
instruments.
Our concert cellos are not only designed for the prospective professional but also for students who are considering upgrading.

Master cellos
Our violas are constructed in conformity with the various
qualities of our violin models. One particularly attractive
feature of our violas is their individual Strad- or Guarneriinspired form. We construct our violas only from selected
timbers that have been allowed to mature over many
years. Our special, hand-applied varnishes have been renowned for decades. The vast range we can offer ensures
that students, amateurs and professional musicians will
be able to find a suitable instrument.
To construct our master cellos, we select only the highest
quality woods, top quality resins and varnishes and the
most outstanding fittings – we leave nothing to chance!
At their own wish, our customers can be present during
the construction process from the very beginning and witness for themselves the quality of our instrument-making
skills.

Student double basses
Our team
Our student double basses are made from selected German tonewoods and are constructed by skilled craftsmen.
We ensure that the quality of the woods we use provides
a particularly clean and sonorous sound.
Together with the members of the Heffler family, our
personnel and employees form a perfectly orchestrated
team. Our occupation is for all of us a vocation. Our staff
is composed of highly qualified, specialist professionals
who can combine traditional methods of craftsmanship
with the use of cutting-edge technologies to manufacture
unique and exceptional products. To produce musical
instruments by fine handcrafting to the very highest
technical specifications in our master craftsmen’s workshop - this is our common objective. It is our endeavor to
create through our skills, experience and passion, our love
and enthusiasm, something unique every day.
The moderately flamed maple back, good quality spruce
wood front, the characteristic form of the neck and our
individual form options, such as viola da gamba or violin,
perfectly compliment the overall appearance of our instruments.

Our concert double basses are constructed in either the
viola da gamba or violin form and are remarkable for
their beguiling range of tone. Our masterly antique-style
varnish, produced to a traditional family recipe developed
over many years, completes the effect of bass instruments
of preeminent tonality.
Stunning tonal quality, a sophisticated and antique appearance and superb flamed tonewoods make our basses
into the most consummate of instruments. In addition
to our viola da gamba and violin versions, we are also
renowned for our Busetto-shaped bass - exclusive to us!
