Abu Dhabi Education Council
Research Office
The Research Office conducts surveys to gather qualitative and quantitative data for research projects. Therefore, in
order to collect objective, unbiased information from a representative group of stakeholders, the Research office
conducts routine surveys on student, parent, teacher and principal satisfaction in addition to ad-hoc surveys by request
from internal and external sources. Although the surveys are usually conducted to gather input and data for research
projects, they may also be used as stand-alone output.
This report is useful for the policy and decision makers to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the schools from the
parents’ perspective, which will help identify the various causal forces that influence parents’ satisfaction with their child’s
schooling.
We strive to make the survey results available in a variety of formats and in a language that is appropriate to a variety of
audiences. If you have any comments or suggestions about this report, we would like to hear from you. Please direct your
comments to the following address:

Overview
The aim of this report is to provide the leadership of the school with qualitative overview of the opinions and feedback
provided by parents during a recent review of the School, as recorded by our survey system. The data is predominantly
presented in the form of a frequency distribution of the answers provided for each question. The report does not include
qualitative or quantitative analysis of the data nor does it present any assumptions, conclusions or recommendations.
The purpose of the 2015 survey was to gauge the level of parents’ satisfaction with seven aspects of the schooling
provided by the School: (1) Parental participation and communication, (2) Quality of Learning, (3) School Safety, (4)
Code of Conduct (5), Health Issues, (6) School Leadership and (7) overall satisfaction
It is envisaged that this report will provide principals with useful insights in order to identify the strengths and weaknesses of
the school experience from parents’ perspective and to use these to identify the various causal forces that influence the
extent to which parents are satisfied with the educational and social learning environment provided by the school.

Average Rating:
The weighted mean of all responses on a scale of five points:

Strength:
The registered responses for a question. This value varies between questions as the survey allowed parents to skip
questions if they prefer not want to answer them.
The percentage of collected responses to the number of invited parents or students in the school
Statistical consideration of each school to cohort schools. We consider the following factors:
* School size
* Type of school (Public and Private)
* School GPS Location
* Included Grades
Denotes the total number of parents who "agreed" OR "strongly agreed" with the statement
Denotes the total number of parent who "disagreed" Or "strongly disagreed" with the statement
The response rate strength determines the reliability of the information provided by the parents in the school. The
higher the response rate is, the more reliable and representative the sample is. The rate is classified as following:
* Very Low: Response Rate is less than 0.1
* Acceptable: 0.100009 <= Response Rate <= 0.3999
* Moderate: 0.4 <= Response Rate <= 0.6999
* High: 0.7 <= Response Rate <= 1

It is important to assess the degree to which parents are satisfied with school safety, as children have to feel that they are in a safe environment for effective
learning to take place. If children feel threatened, insecure or at risk, it is highly unlikely that they will remain focused on their learning.
