A Letter From The Project Director
This look-book was easily one of the most challenging projects I’ve ever produced, but
I did not do this alone. It is because of the involvement of the team that the look-book
turned out great. I’d like to pay homage to the talented people who contributed their
skills and invested time in this project.
Our photographer, Fabrice Grover, offered his services pro bono. While creating this
look-book, Fabrice’s enthusiasm for his art was contagious and I encourage anyone to
look at more of his work at his website: www.fabricegroverphoto.com.
With the help of Linda Giardinello of New York Institute of Beauty, we recruited Students
Danny Barcelo, Andrea Smith, and Instructor, Karen Campagna, to style our models in
a 1950s/1960s theme. Jing Chen did some additional styling for some of our models,
painstakingly searching for the perfect outfits on a student-friendly budget.
Dashka Gabriel used her natural talent for event management to make sure we got
everything we needed at each location. Working closely with Dashka, Peggy Adamu
jumped in to help wherever needed. Before the shoot, Andrea Nerep and Suryabala
Shenbagamurthy prepared the clothes and accessories, and helped with set-up.
Additional thanks goes to Sue Wais, NYU Associate Director of Student Life, who
secured The Edison Ballroom for us, Hayley Evans, for completing the digital design of
the look-book, and the models, Lisa Kassay Boag, Spencer Chen, July He, Milan
Mecklenberg, Emma Mundy, Chad Roberts, and Stefán Jóhann Sigurðsson, and
Evgeniya Vasilchenko.
I owe my deepest appreciation to everyone involved in making this project a success.
