Despite the ways in which the world has changed, the traditions of budo, and the means of practice, remain vital for men, women, and children. The means of budo, known as tanren, or forging the mind, body and spirit, helps to create balanced and healthy individuals, thus ensuring the balance and health of society as a whole. Since its inception, Kokusai Budoin has continuously striven to promote this ideal of development, both for the individual, and society in general, via the medium of budo, traditional Japanese martial arts, and it is to this aim that I dedicate our exhibition today. 20 April 2014 Opening Address by Nobetsu Tadanori, Kokusai Budoin, IMAF Chief Director Nihon Jujutsu Demonstration Nihon Jujutsu Demonstration Photos of 2014 All Japan Budo Exhibition & Nisseikai Dojo 50th Anniversary by Asako Nomura / Contact: [email protected] 2014 All Japan Budo Exhibition continued Aikido Demonstration Karate-do Demonstration 36th All Japan Budo Exhibition continued from page 2 Aikido featured members of Ikushinkan Dojo demonstrating basic and advanced techniques Karate-do, the final exhibition of the day, featured Japanese Nisseikai Dojo members, Wado-ryu, and Shito-ryu, as well as guests from France demonstrating kata, applications, self-defense, as well as traditional weapons forms In addition to the days’ exhibitions, a celebratory reception was held in the evening with officials, regular members, guests from various countries, and members of the 2014 Japan Budo Tour.
