“Steady” Ed Headrick
The Father of Disc Golf
(PDGA #001)
“Steady”Ed Headrick
June 28, 1924 — August 12, 2002.
DGA was established in 1976 by Ed Headrick to
start the sport of disc golf. Headrick’s vision was to
form a new international sport and to promote the
installation and use of disc golf courses around the
world.
“Steady” Ed touched the lives of millions of
people from around the world. He was the
father of frisbee and disc golf. He dedicated
his life to spreading the joy and fun of the
frisbee game and especially disc golf. His vision,
enthusiasm and selflessness has given us a way of life that will
endure until we come to the last disc golf hole.
For those of you who are not old timers, “Steady” Ed invented
the Wham-O Pro Model frisbee in 1964, founded the IFA
(International Frisbee Association) in 1969, the WFC Rose Bowl
events in 1974, hired Dan “Stork” Roddick in 1975, invented the
Disc Pole Hole and created the DGA in 1976. He installed nearly
800 disc golf courses in 20 countries. He was a husband and
father of four children.
He was my friend, my mentor and butt kicker when I needed it. He
was our ambassador, our disc golf renaissance man.
We urge everyone who was touched by this great man to hold a
moment of silent celebration in his honor and memory. If you can
do it, then present your “Steady” Ed Memorial Disc Golf or frisbee
event for the world to enjoy. And, never forget the man who gave
you the game that you love to play. Play it again for the man you
once loved. And then, play it again!

life!” It changed mine, big time! We will surely
miss him!

It was “Steady” Ed’s wish that after he die he not just
be cremated. Ed also wanted his cremated ashes to be
incorporated into discs so he could remain part of the
sport he began and loved so much.
Lines of Headrick
Memorial Driver & Putter
“The Lines of Headrick” memorial disc is a very limited edition
Ultrastar 175g mold carrying Ed’s ashes. “The Lines of Headrick”
commemorates the life of the founder of disc sports and father
of Disc Golf.
Ed’s Ashes were incorporated into a very special blend of
elite plastic into the immortal XL™ and APX™ molds. Artwork
created by Ed Headrick’s close friend Sharon Kinzie.
All proceeds go to “The Ed Headrick Memorial Museum” at the PDGA International Disc Golf Center, Wildwood Park, Appling, GA.

DGA Disc Plastic Types
SP Line: DGA SP Line is DGA’s top end premium
blend of plastic and produces DGA’s fastest discs
with more stable flight characteristics . DGA was first
to popularize discs that are transparent and have
sparkle flakes suspended in the plastics. Every DGA’s
SP Line disc is aesthetically pleasing and will raise
your game to its highest level.
ProLine: DGA ProLine plastic is a premium blend
that produces discs that are tough, grippy and
have incredible performance. ProLine discs are the
work horses used by Team DGA. If you are looking
for more grip and durability, balanced with high
performance flight qualities, DGA ProLine Discs are
for you.
Signature Line: DGA Signature Line plastic is
known for its one of a kind rubber like blend and
exceptional plastic memory. You will not find
another line of discs out there with the same feel,
flexibility and catchability. The rubbery plastic is
ideal for school and camps and is great for putting
practice and even playing catch. Signature line
plastic is also the safest plastic available making it
ideal for school P.E. programs.
D-Line: DGA D-Line plastic is an economical plastic
blend with superior tack and grip. Discs in D-Line
plastic are in use by players of all skill levels and are
beginner friendly because of their increased grip.
This plastic is perfect for transitioning from the
beginning stages of disc golf into a more advanced
game.
RDGA Line: RDGA Line discs weigh 150 grams and
are extremely easy to throw. The RDGA Line is made
up of many of the same molds found in other DGA
Lines, however RDGA discs are easier to throw and
easier to learn with. The lighter plastic means that
players throwing with less arm speed will experience
better results and learn how to control the flight of a
disc more readily.
DGA Disc Flight Ratings System
SPEED: Speed ratings go from 1 to 14. Speed is the ability of the disc to cut through the
air. Discs with high number ratings are faster and go farther with less effort. Slower discs
take more power to throw, but have less of a chance to fly past the basket.
GLIDE: Glide is rated from 1 to 7. Glide describes the discs ability to maintain loft during
flight. The discs with increased Glide are best for newer players, or those with slow arm
speeds. Discs with high Glide numbers have the ability to maintain a longer flight and will
not fade out as quick, which results in a more flat finish.
TURN: Turn is rated from -5 to +2. High speed turn is the tendency of a disc to turn over
or bank to the right during the initial part of the flight. A disc with a +2 rating is most
resistant to turning over, while a -5 rating will turn the most. Discs with a (-) negative
number will turn right, and discs with a (+) positive number will hook left. [This is for right
hand back hand throws (RHBH), and is opposite for left hand throws.]
DGA
FADE: Fade is rated from 0 to 5. Low Speed Fade is the discs tendency to hook left at the
end of the flight. Discs with high fade numbers hook left at the end of their flight (RHBH).
A disc rated 0 will finish straightest, while a disc rated 5 will hook left hard at the end of the
flight. Discs with a high fade rating are most predicable, even in wind.

Mach I, including scaled down chains. The Mini comes in a gold
iridite finish that will not tarnish or rust, and the base also comes in
a round gold metal finish.
To complete the trophy, you may wish to have a custom brass
number plate made that identifies your tournament and place
finished.
This is a beautifully designed trophy that you would be happy

Custom Hot-Stamping
DGA custom stamps provide Disc Golf clubs, churches, camps and
companies with one of kind personalized custom stamping on the
highest quality discs available. Your custom stamp can be stamped
on any of our ProLine and SP Line.
Please note: There is a minimum order of 100 discs with 25 discs
per model selected. After a one time setup fee of $60.00 dollars
you will be able to get your custom stamped disc for just .15 cents
above wholesale price.

Disc Pole Holes™ Accessories
Basket Blades™
DGA Disc Golf Basket Blades are designed to add visibility and branding
potential to your baskets and are compatible with any DGA Mach II™
and Mach V™ Disc Pole Hole disc golf baskets.
Stock Basket Blade Panels: Two blade panels with DGA vinyl logo
with basket model name. One blade panel with hole numbering and
directional arrow to next tee.
Custom Panels: One custom blade panels with your wording. One
blade panel with DGA vinyl logo with basket model name. One blade
panel with hole numbering and directional arrow to next tee.
Number Plate Conversion
Mach disc golf baskets can be fitted with a number plate easily with a
number plate conversion kit. Number plate conversion kits fit into the
top of the target and secure using the same bolt used to attach the
target’s chain holder.
Each number plate comes standard with reflective industrial grade vinyl
sign numbers. Number plates can also be customized with full color
printing (as shown).
Direct Hit Wind Flags
Direct Hit Disc Golf Basket Wind Flags add visibility to your pin placements
as well as offering the player wind speed and direction information. First
flag flies at 6 mph, the second at 12 mph and all three at 18 mph.
The flag is made of fade-resistant DuPont® SolarMax® fabric. Each lot
of flags are tested for wind speed calibration and flutter smoothness.
Flags are 4 quad stitched on the fly end and then folded over and locked
stitched for outstanding resistance to fraying even under high wind
conditions.
Tube-lock flags are sewn onto a molded high-strength plastic tube that
slips over the flag stick and is secured with an acorn nut. Wind speed
numbers and other graphics are silk screened onto the fabric for durability.
The flags are easily visible at over 200 yards.
Tee Signs
Located at each tee, Tee signs are the map to the hole. Tee signs convey
important information like the distance, par, the preferred flight path,
hazards and out-of-bounds. Rules signs can educate new players and UFO
Course Signs keep other park users safe by letting them know that they
are entering a disc golf course. In addition, quality disc golf signs can add
to the look and character of a disc golf course. DGA offers a variety of sign
options.
