age and swim level. Class size is limited to ensure safety and maintain the highest
quality instruction. Specialty swim instruction is also available, including American

children’s dance
For 27 years, the YWCA Bergen County’s dance program has introduced children to
Ballet, Jazz and Tap while fostering a love of movement and music appreciation with
our engaging and motivating classes. Children express themselves through
creative movement in dance class. Skills such as balance, coordination, poise and
flexibility are cultivated and often help to nurture self-confidence and self-esteem.
This healthy exercise can be the foundation for a lifetime of energetic, physical
activity.
Our program, led by Miss Ronda Capilli, operates during the school year from
September to June for six 8-week sessions. A recital performance is held in June
for students enrolled in Sessions 4 and 5. Non-recital classes continue after the
school year in our summer program. Lessons are available for children ages 3 to 11
and placement is based on both age and ability. There are no make-up sessions for
Dance Classes.
To participate in the Annual YWCA Dance Recital in June, students must attend Sessions 4 and 5 dance classes.

empowerment programs
Are you a woman who has been UNEMPLOYED 6 months or more?
Moving Ahead is a program that empowers women to be confident, prepared and career ready. This
program gives women the tools to balance themselves physically, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually,
helping participants learn how to seek and keep jobs. Session topics include resume writing, interview
skills, networking skills and how to dress for success. Our goal is to foster close relationships and
promote a community development approach as we train women to become more independent
and aware of who they are. During the course of the program, women professionals from our monthly
Women’s Empowerment Network and annual Tribute to Women in INdustry (TWIN) will utilize their
networks to find job opportunities for program participants. Program is in collaboration with Teaneck Women
Train & Work, and is funded by Women United in Philanthropy.
