Amazon Rating: Best Sunscreen I’ve Ever Had, December 1, 2011 By Tauruscharging I like it; goes on smooth and easy, October 17, 2011 By LisaLee21 This sunscreen doesn’t have carcinogenic ingredients and it works well. It doesn’t leave a white film on your skin. It’s the best by far that I’ve ever used. This sunscreen rubs in really easy. Its not thick and goopy. Also whats nice is its not watered-down like the cheap sunscreens seems to be, the ingredients lists has stuff like shea butter and aloe vera. And no sunburn after an afternoon hike in the mountains... I highly recommend it after that. better than most “natural” sunscreen!, June 7, 2011 By Katie Bee (Cleveland, OH) As a conscientious mother to a very active toddler, I have tried many different sunscreens, basically by picking from the EWG’s recommendations [...]. The Beyond Coastal is our favorite so far! It absorbes better and is less greasy than some of the other brands. California Baby was our favorite before we found this, but that one is hard to rub in and leaves what I call a “moon glow” look - the minerals make the skin look a little purple-y, which doesn’t matter so much for a kid, but I felt a little odd as an adult. Literally my only complaint with Beyond Coastal is that it has a slightly odd smell - almost like warm milk. Not much of a complaint when you think of all the benefits of using a safe product for your family! Beyond My Expectations, August 23, 2010 By Barbster I have tried so many different sunscreens and this one is by far the best. It goes on smoothly like regular face cream. It isn’t tacky or sticky like so many sunscreens that I have used in the past. I don’t dread putting this cream on like the others. Try it! Excellent Sunscreen, August 23, 2010 By KisaCar (Washington) I learned about this sunscreen from EWG website. I was looking for a safe non-mineral sunscreen (I love the idea of mineral sunscreens, but the white residue is a deal-breaker). This sunscreen is fabulous! It’s easy to apply and absorbs very quickly. The texture is nice: not heavy and yet not runny. It’s on the pricier side, especially when compared to drugstore options. But, in my opinion, the cost is well worth it! Great sunscreen, August 15, 2010 By C. Meiners (Brooklyn, NY) So I have been working my way through the EWG suggested sunscreens and I have to say this is my favorite. It has very light smell that reminds me a little of cake batter. The four ounce size is a great deal. The sunscreen is a little more lotion like than the mineral sunscreens and it rubs in very well and does not turn me the white-blue that California Baby and Loving Naturals leaves me. It is stays on and lasts a long time. I am pretty pale and burn easily and this will last me a solid 4-5 hour bike ride, if I am not wiping off my sweat all the time. The Best Sunscreen!!!, June 30, 2008 By B. Patton On a recent boating trip my husband got sunburned, even though he had been wearing a 45 SPF Banana Boat sunscreen. He was told Beyond Coastal was more effective and used higher quality ingredients than other sunscreens , thus a little more pricey. He used it, loved it, and brought some home. I used this on an all day trip to the beach with no shade. The kids were in and out of the water and in direct sun all day and no one got burned, even though I didn't re-apply after swimming. I have not been able to find it in the stores so I was very glad to find Amazon carries it and will be stocking up. I love the fact that they use all organic ingredients and their products are paraben and paba free so I feel great about using them on my kids. I even use it on my face- the SPF 30. They also make a very soothing after sun lotion, which we've tried and liked. Active Face Stick SPF 30 Avg. Amazon Rating: Finally one that does work!, September 6, 2011 By sun sufferer My son has number of allergies and he easily break outs to sun screen. We have tested a number of good sun screens rated by EWG, many organic ones and nothing worked. This is the only one he does not breakout to. The only concern is that you need to apply it often as it washes off in the water. After all, I am very happy that something start working. Great for kids, adults, pool & play., September 5, 2011 By A. Rayburn (Aspen, CO) I love that this sunscreen is less toxic than the Kiss My Face stick, no oxybenzene, and yet it still stays on even the little ones at the pool. My son is always rubbing his eyes at the pool, of course, and this and the Kiss My Face are the only sunscreens that stay on despite the rubbing and water. We reapply every hour at the pool and no sunburn yet! I love that I can apply it and immediately get in the water and it doesn’t float away like cream sunscreens. I like the smell, a bit fruity, and the feel is a bit sticky at first but then totally unnoticable. A great find if you worry equally about cancer from chemicals and cancer from the sun. Amazon Rating: best i’ve used, February 27, 2012 By doeeyedgrl Good Stuff, February 29, 2012 By ZB (Richmond, VA) This stuff is so light and goes on clear. I hated having to really rub in my sunscreen or else I’d look like a ghost. I still get burned if I stay out for hours, but it’s not as bad and it’s actually good for my skin and it’s not advisable to stay out for so long anyway. It has natural ingredients which I love. No Retinyl Palmitate or whatever... I kinda love this stuff. Easy to tote around in my purse/ backpack/ beach bag. The product doesn’t seem to have a flavor or taste (which is good). The smell (suntan lotion smell), is minimal, as to not be bothersome when applied to face. Does the Job Very Well, August 30, 2011 By Stella’s Mom I bought the product after combing through the EWG recommendations for safe sunscreen that does not contain potentially harmful ingredients. The problem with many of the zinc oxide sunscreens is that they leave a white residue on your skin. The Natural Clear Sunscreen does not. When you first put it on, it feels thick and heavy but dissolves into your skin. My husband who is fair skinned and burns easily and me (Asian, able to get very tan) both wore the sunscreen while hiking in Yosemite for 3 days in full sun for hours. It worked very well. No problems at all. It has a lot of moisturizing ingredients which after a shower, I could still feel the benefits in that my skin did not feel dry. It says on the tube, for the outdoor athlete, I hope they come up with a lighter version for outdoor activities like attending outdoor sporting events, etc. Great Natural Face Sunscreen, December 9, 2011 By farmgrl (Aspen, CO) My husband and I both used this sunscreen. You definitely need to rub it in well or you will look whitish if you don’t. The product protected our faces very well whil on vacation, my husband tends to burn badly and this sunscreen did the tick; no sunburn. Works great for me!, August 25, 2011 By Katy I was skeptical about this sunscreen because the size is so small and because it looks like a tin of white greasepaint. BUT, I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and there is still plenty left. Also, it’s a convenient size to throw in my purse, just in case I’m out in the sun. I live in Southern CA and exercise outdoors several times a week so I need something sweatproof. I had tried other natural sunscreens that were not waterproof and when I would sweat, they would run. So it looked like I was sweating milk. This stuff stays put and I haven’t had it run at all. Also, I have very fair skin and haven’t gotten burned with this at all. It does make you look a bit paler because it’s so thick and white, but once it’s rubbed in it’s not very noticeable. Overall, I love it. Natural Kids Sunscreen SPF 30 Avg. Amazon Rating: Beyond Coastal sunscreen, July 23, 2010 By Tami Merrill (Camarillo, CA) I am fair skinned, cannot stand being burned. We spent a week at the beach I used this everyday and I never burned it works good. The only complaint I might have is that it is hard to spread. It goes on like a thick white goop and once you get it spread you are covered, but spreading it can be a challenge. I am an adult and only used it on adults, We didn’t have any babies around to try it on. AfterSun Moisturizer Avg. Amazon Rating: Amazing Sunburn Relief, October 31, 2011 By Megan Parker While I definitely do not recommend getting burned, if it does happen like it does to me on occasion, I highly recommend this product. I was in the sun for the first time in a while without reapplying the sunblock, so of course got a pretty bad sunburn. I stumbled on this aftersun natural moisturizer and was very impressed. It was very soothing and reduced the redness pretty quickly - after a day’s use pretty much. It also wasn’t sticky like other aftersun products and felt very similar to regular lotion. I have extrememly sensitive skin and was still able to use this lotion on my face without any blemishes developing like I do with other lotions. Beyond Coastal Unedited Backcountry.com Reviews Beyond Coastal Sponsored Athletes Rebecca Rusch Active Sunscreen SPF 30 Avg. Backcountry Rating: Amazing Stuff, February 22, 2012 By Patrick McMurty Never thought I’d write a review on a sunscreen. Recently ran a 100Km race in Nicaragua. Was in beating sun and high humidity all day. I put this on in the morning. It absorbs easily and is not greasy at all. No scent to it and it doesn’t really feel like you have anything on. Late in the morning I reached in my pocket to reapply and was distressed that I had forgot it. So I was sweating like crazy, dunking myself with water whenever possible to keep cool, all the time with the sun blaring down. Race took me all day and I had no trace of a burn anywhere! Pretty incredible - specially since I was coming from winter in a cold climate. Natural Sunscreen SPF 30 Avg. Backcountry Rating: Love it, April 5, 2011 By Rich Wheller I love this sunblock. It is hard to find an effective all natural sunblock like this one. I have tried many other brands, and this is the stuff for me. You do need to reapply many times to keep it effective, and it does make your face stubble look funny, but who cares right? I’d rather have a little ghost face going on than be putting toxic chemicals on my face. Yay for Beyond Coastal! Oh yeah, it smells good too. Makes my nose tingle. Natural Kids Sunscreen SPF 30 Avg.
