General Information To Register
Registration opens May 10th, and will continue until classes are full or are canceled due to lack of
enrollment. People must register for classes unless otherwise noted. Registration and payment
must be received at least five business days before class start date. Classes will be canceled if
minimum enrollment has not been met five business days before class start date. Accepted
payment methods are listed below. All programs are held at Fife Community Center, unless
otherwise noted.
Refund Policy
No refunds will be issued 5 days or less prior to program start date. If you withdraw from a
program/activity prior to the start date, fees paid will be placed back on users account minus a $5
service fee. Funds placed back on users account may be used in the form of a discount towards a
future program/activity or may be requested as a refund. If not used within 90 days all remaining
funds will be forfeited.

Medical Insurance
Participants in Fife PRCS programs should have their own medical insurance to cover any injuries
sustained while participating in any activity sponsored by the PRCS Department. Fife PRCS is not
financially responsible for medical expenses.

Inclement Weather
If the Fife School District is closed due to inclement
weather, all PRCS programs are canceled. Call the
Community Center or Pool if you have additional
questions.
Photo Policy
Fife PRCS staff may videotape or take
photos of participants in programs and
special events. Those photos may be
used for promoting our classes, events,
programs or to display online.

Open to all special interest vehicles; register
your car online at cityoffife.org! Door prizes
will be given away during the event. Many
awards to be given out, so bring your car
and come down! Free to spectators!

Music in the Park
Brand new this year, the City of Fife presents
Music in the Park; an
11-week outdoor concert series featuring
local bands and musicians. Bring a lawn
chair, a blanket, or just you and your dancin’
shoes down to Dacca Park for some great,
family-friendly tunes! And be sure to stop by
early to check out the Fife Farmers Market
from 3-7pm.

Fife Farmers Market
The City of Fife is located right off of the
I-5 corridor, making it a convenient stop to
purchase your local fresh veggies, fruit and
berries, flowers, eggs, milk, and more. The
Fife Farmers Market will be held at Dacca
Park, to allow kids to play, while parents
peruse the market. There will be special
events and live entertainment.

Children’s Beginner Taekwondo
(Ages 5-12)
This class is for youth ages 5-12 and the
curriculum is specifically geared towards
beginners who wish to learn the basics of
Taekwondo. Please wear workout attire
such as a T-shirt and sweatpants. Uniforms
will be available for purchase. Enrollment is
open and ongoing so that new students may
join at any time. *New Students: Register
for 3 months in advance and receive your
uniform for FREE!*

Free Summer Playground Program
This program will offer lunch and an afternoon
snack made possible by USDA and Metro Parks
Tacoma. This free drop-in program provides the
opportunity for kids to get creative with arts &
crafts, play lots of games and sports, and visit with
friends. This program is not to be used to substitute
Child-Care or Day-Care services! Adult recreation
staff will supervise the kids during activities but is
NOT responsible for keeping track of children at
the program or park site for the duration of the day;
kids can come and go as they please. It is solely
the responsibility of the parents, legal guardians
and day-care providers to supervise their children
to ensure their safety.

Camp Fife Is For Everyone!
Provide your child with fun and safe activities
in a supervised setting. Campers will enjoy
field trips, games and art projects. Each week
your child will go on one extra field trip a week
to either Titlow Park or Point Defiance Park for
environmental education and fun experiences
in the outdoors! All your child needs to bring
is a sack lunch, water, snacks, sunscreen,
bathing suit/towel, and a smile! We’ll take
care of the rest. Don’t miss the fun!

bucket of laughs under the big top as we crack jokes,
perform death-defying feats of glory and even clown

have fun because we’re all going to stars this week!

Aloha! Good vibes & happy tidings as we celebrate the
end of summer with a camp authentic island festivity.
We’ll look back on the summer and come together for
the best luau Camp Fife’s ever seen! Not to mention an
all camp BBQ picnic lunch on Thursday! Come send off
your 2016 Summer Hawiian style!

Youth learn proper grips, footwork, strokes, volleys, as
well as the rules and etiquette that make tennis an
exciting game. Camp fills quickly.

This fun, skill-intensive program is designed for
beginning to intermediate athletes. An active week of

This multi-sport camp is tailored to your child’s age and

Youth learn skills on both sides of the football, including

Since 1979, Kidz Love Soccer has been
dedicated to teaching children the world’s
most popular sport within a nurturing,
recreational environment. A typical session
experience includes age appropriate activities: skill demonstrations, fun games, and
instructional scrimmages. Young soccer
enthusiasts experience soccer fun in a safe,

Little Mermaid Ballet Camp (Ages 3-5)
We are under the sea! Twirl, twist, spin and
leap your way through the sea. This camp
will include a fulllength ballet class, themed
crafts and game time. Each dancer will
receive a tutu or wings and will take home
their craft projects on the last day of class.
There will be a performance on the last day,
friends and families are welcome!

The City of Fife Parks and Recreation
provides a fun and safe place for middle
school students after- school that encourages
and develops life skills, respect, and positive
social interaction. Daily activities include
homework help, group games, sports, and
art projects. Registration forms are located
at Surprise Lake Middle School Office,
Endeavour Intermediate School Office, and
at the Fife Community Center. 24 Student
Limit. Financial Assistance is available

Boot Camp
Turn your body into a calorie burning
machine with Boot Camp style group
training. We’ll shock your body into the next
level of fitness with workouts that change
each week. Using the ‘Metabolic Training’
model to maximize calorie burn and AFTER
workout calorie burn while encouraging your
body to gain muscle while simultaneously
burning fat. All fitness levels welcome. First
Class is free if you would like to try it out.

Have fun and move to the music through
a variety of exercises designed to increase
muscular strength, range of movement
and activities for daily living. Hand-held
weights, elastic tubing with handles and
Silver Sneakers exercise balls are offered
for resistance. A chair is available if needed
for seated or standing support.

We are teaming up with other senior centers
from around Washington and enjoying a
day at Safeco Field to watch the Mariners

SeaMar Community Health have
joined forces to provide for pregnant
women, infants and children with
supplemental food and basic health
care. In order to be eligible, a client
must meet the income guidelines
and have a medical or nutritional
risk which the WIC staff will help
determine.

Dacca Park is a beautiful and scenic area
with four fields for softball and baseball,
a basketball court, sand volleyball court,
concession stand, play equipment, and
track. In the fall the baseball fields are
converted to soccer fields. Combine these
attributes with ample free parking, direct
freeway access, clean restrooms, and
competitive rental pricing, Dacca Park is
perfect for your next sporting event! The
park can also be used for special events,
such as car shows and festivals.
The Fife Community Center offers a large banquet room that can be
divided by solid partitions into three separate rooms. Each room has
its own air-conditioning and heating as well as its own individual and
unique features: Room One has a fireplace, Room Two has a stage.
We also offer a spacious kitchen that has back door access which is
perfect for catering services to use.

Wedge Park
5920 Valley Ave E
Opened in 2005, this
neighborhood park is a very
popular gathering place.
Amenities include a basketball
court, climbing rocks, play
structures, and gazebo for an
array of age groups.
Fountain Memorial
2001 54th Avenue
The recently renovated park
is named after the historic
Fife fountain that resides in
it. The park links Fife's other
civic buildings, including the
Community Center, Swim Center,
and City Hall.
Colburn Park
5506 20th St E
Built in the mid-1990's, this
park is adjacent to the Fife
Swim Center. Colburn Park has
a nice picnic area for families as
well as swings and playground
equipment. The playground is a
great place to play either before
or after a swim at the pool.
Hylebos Nature Area
6125 8th Street East
This beautiful .75 mile loop treats
visitors to a wonderful nature
experience. The trail winds
through 24 acres of wetland area
to give patrons exposure to a
variety of habitats. It is our little
oasis in the urban environment.
