A NOTE FROM Brad
A very special thank you to our “Team” here at
Cabarrus CC. As I enter my 30th year in the club
industry, it is a great privilege to work with the very
best “Team” I have ever had the honor of working
with. In no
particular order our team members
include:
 Diana West—Wow what enthusiasm! What a
dynamic positive ambassador of Cabarrus CC.
No one loves CCC more than Diana. I get a big
smile on my face when I see Diana giving her
tours and explaining the culture of what CCC is
all about to prospective members. Diana is one
of the main reasons our membership has grown
from 306 dues paying members one year ago
to 359 dues paying members today.
 Tim Davis—What else is there to say? Our golf
course according to almost everyone that played
in the Member-Guest was in the best condition it
has ever been in. It was 6 short months ago that
we took down 310 trees and all of those areas
took time to grow grass and the finished result is
outstanding. Tim’s day starts at sunrise and ends
at sunset. Tim not only takes great care of our
175 acres of turf but he is also our plumber, semi
-electrician, roof fixer, ping pong table fixer
and anything else that we ask him to do.
 Carla Anderson—Carla is our Club Accountant
and has been a tremendous addition to our team.
Carla is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, our internal monthly financial
statements and our payroll. Carla always has a
smile on her face and is very welcoming to our
membership. If you ever have any questions or
concerns regarding your club bill, please contact
Carla.


Chef Keith Wilson—Keith is entering his 6th year
as our Executive Chef. Chef has recently taken on
the responsibility of adding food at our pool
complex. Chef has a great pool menu consisting
of entrees such as quesadillas, chicken wings,
choice of hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, and
our awesome Filet Mignon sandwich that is
second to none. Chef Keith recently completed his
6th Member-Guest tournament and we have
been getting continuous raves regarding the
quality of the food served.
Ken Guilford—CCC is blessed and honored to
have Ken representing CCC. Ken is a strong
player, accomplished teacher and consummate
promoter of the game of golf. Ken creates a
welcoming atmosphere for family and friends to
enjoy the game of golf. Ken and his Assistant
Golf Professional Deac Dawson and Jay Hill are
all excellent instructors and club fitters. One of
Ken’s students, Seamus Power recently won his
first professional tournament of his career at the
web.com event at Victoria National in Southern
Indiana. Deac Dawson is very instrumental in the
development and success of our Junior Golf
League which we currently have 44 participants.
Jay Hill our newest Golf Professional, recently
saw one of his students, Nick Lyerly become the
youngest player ever at the age of 17 to win the
NC Amateur Golf Tournament. If you ever need
anything golf related just ask any of our first
class PGA Golf Professionals.
From Left to Right: Tyler Graham,
Jay Hill, Brad Bourret, Deac Dawson,
Ken Guilford, Diana Wes, Stephon
Jenkins, Keith Wilson, Sonia Lambert, Joanna Peters and Tim Davis.




Abby Cagle—Abby joined our team in February as
our Administrative Assistant. Abby wears many hats
here at CCC. If you call the club during the day, Abby
is the person answering the phone. You will enjoy her
pleasing personality and can do attitude. Abby is
responsible for the majority of our club
communications to our members through our monthly
newsletter, weekly email updates and all our social
media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Abby also will be very instrumental in the
design of our new website that we anticipate rolling
out on or before September 1st.
Joanna Peters—We are so fortunate to have Joanna
as our Food & Beverage Director. Joanna has a
passion and love of Cabarrus CC that you just do not
see in most private clubs. Joanna is directly
responsible for the booking and execution of over
1000 events per year. Joanna also has a genuine
interest in each of our approximately 425 golf, social,
tennis and pool members and their families. Joanna
also leads her team of twenty employees that consist
of bartenders, wait staff, captains, and Bar manager.
Joanna and Chef Keith are instrumental in keeping all
of our menu offerings that keep up with our changing
demographics and more emphasis on family and
health options.
Sonia Lambert—Sonia has recently been promoted to
a Management position. Sonia is our Bar Manager
and she is the best bar manager in the state of North
Carolina. Sonia has never met a stranger and knows
the overwhelming majority of our members by name,
their parents name, any guests you may have brought
and in all probability what your favorite drink is. If
you have not had an opportunity to meet Sonia,
please take a moment to introduce yourself and she
will never forget you.
Joanna and a few members of her Food &
Beverage Team.
As you can see our “Team” at CCC is first class and we
are all proud and honored to be a part of one of the
finest country clubs in North Carolina.

FROM THE TEE—TURF DIGEST
As I write this newsletter, June is all but gone; how time flies. I guess it's another
thing my dad and grandfather would say, "Timmy the older you get the faster
time seems to go.” With that said, I want to say Thank you to the members at
Cabarrus CC for 28 awesome years.
On June 26th of 1988, I started my first day here and little did I know I would
find a home. What a great place, with great people and a great place to raise
a family. I owe a great gratitude of thanks to the many board members who
have served in the time I have been your Golf Course Superintendent as well as
to the greens chairmen I have had the pleasure and opportunity to serve with
and

my
time

club.
Thank you to my staff. I have been very fortunate to work with most of you for a
while. Shane Williams, turf tech "the key that holds us together" for 25 years.
Lee Cook who has been with CCC for 34 years now. That is dedication. Phillip
Freeze for 13 years, Johnny Fredall for 8 years, Humberto Bibiano, our
Horticulturist, for 14 years and Doug Kirkman, my current
Superintendent. Without you guys I could never pull

I want to say thank you to the wonderful staff you
the members currently have here. It is because of these people that it is a joy to
come to work each and every day. Brad, Kenny and his staff,. Mrs. West, Chef
Keith and his staff, Joanna and her staff, Carla and Abby. All of these people
are dedicated to what they do. It is a joy to be around such awesome people. It
is with joy that I come to this wonderful place each and every day. CC.
