Website Development About the Client Allan Prell is the former talk show host of WBAL radio station. He was ranked among the top radio hosts by Talkers Magazine. He won Edward R. Murrow Award twice for Investigative Journalism and several other awards from the Associated Press. In Reno (a city in Nevada), he published a weekly paper, “The Citizen”. His hosted call-programs on various other stations including WTOP Washington, WLMD Laurel, KIRO Seattle, and WRNG Atlanta. He is the author of some best-selling books like The Collective Wisdoms of Kaching (1997), Crystal Daze (2010), Brothers Prell (2011), and The Killing of Andrew Mybull (2014). Project’s Vision & Requirements Allan Prell approached MobiLyte to develop a platform where his audience can schedule an audio or video call with his permission. He needed to remove communication barrier with his audience. This web application needed to provide complete quality control of audio and video calls with a great user experience. Through this website, Mr. Prell intended to connect with his audience anytime and anywhere and spread his words across the world. He also needed live video broadcasting feature on the website. The website needed to work as a platform where he can share his views, accomplishments and can connect with people. MobiLyte’s Customized Approach MobiLyte provided the client with a comprehensive website. The website was developed in Code Igniter and YouTube live broadcasting was integrated into the site. The website successfully integrated with the notable content management system to allow the client to organize and manage content easily. An efficient call duration tracking system was also integrated with the website. Post-implementation Benefits for the Client The website benefited the client in many ways. Using content management system, the client can now streamline content scheduling. The website is compatible with all web browsers along with different screen resolutions of tablets and smartphones. With the successful implementation of call tracking system, the client can now track the number of calls, call duration that helps him to determine the peak call hours to schedule calls accordingly. 1 C 2016 Mobilyte
