wedi® Shower Accessories
Overview
A secret among bath design professionals is to use L- and
U-shaped wedi Building Panels to create more tileable surfaces
in the bathroom. To accommodate this popular trend, wedi
prefabricates many products and provides solutions for on-site
customization of shapes and styles. Not only can you waterproof
your tile substrates, but you can eliminate wooden framework by
installing prefabricated design elements tailored to fit your special
needs. wedi Prefabricated Elements include shower seats and
benches, niches, curbs and ramps.

Lightweight, easy to handle, cut & install
Waterproof as tested and demonstrated according
to ANSI A118-10-1999
Mold/Mildew proof
Thermally insulating
Great for tile bonding using any cement or epoxy based
thinset mortar
Dimensionally stable, inert, does not deteriorate
Contains no fibers or paper layers; and will not delaminate
or fuel flames in fire emergencies
Replace traditional cement boards and waterproof membranes
in wet areas such as showers and steam showers
Provides a perfect surface for tiling
wedi Prefabricated Shower Seats and Benches
Create the perfect waterproof seating solution for your shower. wedi Shower
Seats and Benches install much quicker and easier than metal tray or concrete
seats. Plus, they are 100% waterproof due to the CFC-free extruded polystyrene
closed cell foam core.
Full Foam Triangular Corner Seat
The wedi Full Foam Triangular Corner Seat is a fully prefabricated corner
seat is 100% waterproof throughout. Unlike other systems, such as those
made with non-waterproof white expanded polystyrene (EPS), wedi Full
Foam Triangular Corner Seat does not need to be treated with a waterproof
membrane anymore. In addition, the top surface is slightly sloped at a rate
of 1/8”/ ft. to allow water to run off toward the floor drain. The seat can be
cut to virtually any size. Where the cut and the blue foam is exposed, adhere,
for example, an 1/8” thick wedi panel piece to this area to recreate a perfect
surface to bond tile to. This corner seat can be used in wedi systems, conventional shower systems or even over older,
existing tiles in an existing shower. The core of the seat is made of extruded polystyrene foam and is coated with a
rigid, sanded epoxy-based coating to accommodate for heavy duty commercial use.

Installation of wedi Full Foam Triangular Corner Seat
1
Dry fit the seat into the
squared backerboard corner
of your shower. Make sure
it will firmly attach to the
two walls leaving no hollow
areas between.
2
Mark the seat’s contact area
so you know which area
need to be covered with a
3/8” thinset application.
3
Apply modified thinset to
both wall areas and the
floor area the seat will touch
using a 3/8” x 3/8” notch
trowel. Apply more thinset
in the sloped shower floor
area to fill voids.
4
Firmly attach the seat into
the thinset bed and hold
in position tightly using
weights (tile boxes or similar
leaning against the seat
leaning against the seat
until the thinset can keep
the seat in it’s position)
5
Apply a 1/2” bead of wedi®
Joint Sealant to all wallseat seams. The sealant will
provide a waterproof and
flexible seal.
6
On the bottom seam, fill
the gap between the seat
nottom and shower base
slope with thinset and apply
alkali resistant wedi® Mesh
Tape
7
Spread the wedi® Joint
Sealant flat over the seam
using a wedi® Corner Putty
Knife. Cover 3/4” of either
side of the seam with the
sealant.
8
Your seat is ready to tile
immediately once the wedi®
Joint Sealant is tack free.

Floating Corner Seat
wedi corner seats not only install quicker and easier than any metal tray or concrete seat, but
they are also totally unaffected by water due to their closed cell foam base. The polyurethane® ® brackets allow for flexible installation and make sure that the tiled wedi seat
based mounting
can carry up to 300 lbs. of weight. No adddtional blocking is needed and the product can even

Models:
The wedi Fundo shower bases are pre-sloped, ready-to-tile floor units. The wedi building panels are
engineered as a general purpose backer board and underlayment for tile and consist of a rigid
extruded polystyrene foam covered on both sides with a cement-based resin surface and reinforcing
mesh for durability and bonding with any type of thinset mortar. The systems linear drain is integrated
and factory sealed into the floor base. System assembly and wedi components were proven to be

wedi Prefabricated Curbs and Ramps
Available in several options for shower entry designs where transitions are required, wedi curbs and ramps can be installed
with wedi Fundo shower bases, as well as conventional mortar bed systems. Waterproof and versatile, wedi Curbs and Ramps
may be tiled before any glass doors, panels or glass block is installed and can carry weight of up to 480 lbs./ft. Epoxy glue is
recommended instead of screw fasteners when installing shower door tracks.
wedi Full Foam Curbs
wedi Curb Over
wedi Shower Ramp
wedi Full Foam Curbs combine it all in one
element when compared to traditional
methods of 2’ x 4’ wood assembly, lath, mud
and waterproofing. They come presloped so
water runs back into the shower. Installation
instructions can also be found in the wedi
Fundo Primo Installation video (www.wedicorp.
com)
wedi Curb Overs are designed to water-proof
over existing 2’ x 4’ wood constructions. A
conventional PVC pan liner is sandwiched inside
between the 2’ x 4’ and the wedi Curb Over.
The wedi Curb Over will provide additional
water-proofing and square corners for a perfect
tile job. No fasteners should penetrate the
curb except on the vertical outside of the
shower. Attach with thinset mortar only. Please
install curb over in accordance with the TCNA
Handbook detail. Installation instructions can
also be found in the wedi Curb Over Installation
video (www.wedicorp.com)
The wedi Shower Ramp is used to create
curbless showers without recessing the shower
base into the subfloor. The ramp provides
a 1”slope over a 12” length and meets
ADA requirements. The ramp should not be
tiled with tiles smaller than 4” x 4” when
wheelchairs are used in this shower. Installation
instructions can also be found in the wedi
Fundo Primo Installation video (www.wedicorp.
com)
