Welcome to the Fazza World Open Boccia Competition - Dubai 2016
We are looking forward to welcoming the (18) Nations and their (88)
athletes.
Competition Information:
1. Accommodation: Al Bustan Centre and Residence
The Official Championships Hotel is the Al Bustan Centre and Residence.
The Al Bustan Centre & Residence has the highest number of rooms
designed especially for the disabled. The Hotel is Located in Al Nahda
Road, the type of rooms and suites includes studios, one bedroom, two
bedrooms and three bedrooms. (Free internet at the lobby – Gymnasium Accessible Swimming Pool).

2. Transportation:
The LOC will provide transportation starting from 17th May until 24th May
2016 to the all Competition venues (Airports, Hotel, Training Venues,
Classification and Competition Venue) Upon arrival at the official port of
entry (Dubai Airports, DXB- DWC) transfers will be organized to the
Competition Hotel. Further information will be available in the Arrivals
information desk in the airports.
The Al Bustan Centre & Residence is approximately 20 minutes by bus,
distance (15 km) from the competition venue AlNasr Club. Shuttle buses
to/from the competition venue will also be available from the hotel during
the period. A shuttle bus timetable to Training/Competition venues will be
available upon arrival.
3. Meals:
The Al Bustan Centre & Residence will have a buffet style catering available
as per the following timings:
1. Breakfast: 06:00 hrs – 10:00 hrs
2. Lunch: 12:00 hrs – 15:30 hrs
3. Dinner: 19:00 hrs – 23:00 hrs
 Note: Timings can be changed and can be adjusted according to further
issues.
 The lunch box will be provided at the competition venue upon request
allocated in the Dining Lounge.

4. Competition Venue:
The competition will take place in “AL Nasr Club”, AL Nasr Club is
a locality in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Al Nasr, literally
meaning victory, has several commercial and entertainment
complexes, schools and cultural clubs. AL Nasr is bordered by the
localities of Al Karama, Umm Hurair 2.

5. GENERAL OUTLINE OF THE COMPETITION
The competitions will run in accordance with the BISFed International Boccia Rules
In case of doubt or disagreement in the interpretation of the rules, the English
version shall prevail. The BISFed Boccia Rules can be found on the BISFed
website. www.bisfed.com
Any case not included in this document shall be solved in accordance with the
Technical Delegate for the competition.
It is the responsibility of each National Organization participating to ensure that all
competitors and technical personnel are familiarized with the BISFed Boccia Rules.

Supervise the organization of the competition so that it runs in
accordance with
all agreements made in prior meetings and BISFed rules.
Attend meetings prior to and during the competition
Verify that all facilities for training and competition meet the BISFed
regulations
Approve all material to be used during the event
Preside over the Appeals Committee
Witness and approve all draws, as well as competition systems/
programmes.
Supervise the results
Assist the head referee(s) with all technical questions

Competition Court Layout:
Meetings with Delegation: Delegation Registration Meeting (DRM):The HOC going to held meeting with the teams instead of the flight details to
finalize all procedures for accreditation collection, financial issues, flags and
national anthems checking.
Team Manager Meeting: Team Manager Meeting to be held in the at 17:30 on Wednesday 18. May.2016
in Dubai Club for the Disabled.

Short Meeting with Delegates: It might be a short meeting with delegation on Friday 20.05.2016 after finish of
teams and pairs in case there are some changes to the classification of athletes.
General information:
1. Weather:
Dubai has a tropical desert climate because of its location within the
Northern desert belt. Summers are extremely hot and humid,[1] with an
average high around 41 °C (106 °F) and overnight lows around 30 °C
(86 °F). Most days are sunny throughout the year. Winters are warm and
short with an average high of 23 °C (73 °F) and overnight lows of 14 °C
(57 °F). Precipitation, however, has been increasing in the last few decades
with accumulated rain reaching 150 mm (5.91 in) per year.[3] The weather
in Dubai can bring short and irregular rainfall as is typical for the Middle
East. Most of the rainfall occurs in the December to March period. The
weather between December and March remains warm and is considered to
be the most comfortable climatic conditions of the year.
2. Currency:
The dirham code: AED is the currency of the United Arab Emirates , 1 AED = 0.27
USD or 0.24 EUR.
3. Transportation in Dubai:
Dubai is one of the fastest growing cities in today's world, making the provision of
high quality infrastructure facilities absolutely imperative, and since providing an
advanced transport network for the people of Dubai has been high on the
government’s agenda, which is evident from its initiatives to enhance the public
transport facilities and improve roads across the emirate to make travel safer and
smoother, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) was formed by the decree
number 17 for the year 2005, The tourist can enjoy his staying in Dubai with
varieties of transportation,“ Roads, Taxis, Metro, Bus, Trams, Ports and water
travel, Air travel and see”.

4. Tourist attractions in and around Dubai
Burj AL Arab:
Is a luxury hotel located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates? At 321 m (1,053 ft), it is
the fourth tallest hotel in the world. Burj Al Arab stands on an artificial island 280
m (920 ft) from Jumeirah beach and is connected to the mainland by a private
curving bridge. The shape of the structure is designed to mimic the sail of a ship.
Sometimes referred to as "the world's only 7-Star hotel".
Burj Khalifa:
World's tallest building, a living wonder, stunning work of art, incomparable feat of
engineering, Burj Khalifa is all that, in concept and execution, Burj Khalifa has no
peer, more than just the world's tallest building, Burj Khalifa is an unprecedented
example of international cooperation, symbolic beacon of progress, and an
emblem of the new, dynamic and prosperous Middle East.
Atlantis Dubai:
Atlantis Dubai is a huge tourist hotel complex is located in Dubai, opened in
impressive and huge ceremony at a cost of U.S. $ 20 million on November 20,
2008, a project of the South African Entrepreneur Sol Cairns. The hotel is located
on the Palm Jumeirah at the checkpoint north of the island; it can be reached
through an underwater tunnel on the railway line. The hotel costs up to 1,200
million.
Ski Dubai:
Ski Dubai is the first INDOOR ski resort to open in the Middle East. The resort is
located at the heart of Mall of the Emirates, a famous shopping center in Dubai’s
central part of the city. The Ski Dubai arena boasts a mountain-themed 22,500
square-meter space of skiing, snowboarding and tobogganing. If you just want to
hang around and enjoy the nice temperature which is around 3 degrees Celsius.
There is also the 3,000 square-meter Snow Park dedicated to people who just
want to play in the snow with some nice slides.
