Competition Information: 1. Accommodation: Al Bustan Centre and Residence The Official Championships Hotel is the Al Bustan Centre and Residence. The Al Bustan Centre & Residence has the highest number of rooms designed especially for the disabled. The Hotel is Located in Al Nahda Road, the type of rooms and suites includes studios, one bedroom, two bedrooms and three bedrooms. (Free internet at the lobby – Gymnasium Accessible Swimming Pool). Transportation: The LOC will provide transportation starting from 17th May until 24th May 2016 to the all Competition venues (Airports, Hotel, Training Venues, Classification and Competition Venue) Upon arrival at the official port of entry (Dubai Airports, DXB- DWC) transfers will be organized to the Competition Hotel. Further information will be available in the Arrivals information desk in the airports. The Al Bustan Centre & Residence is approximately 20 minutes by bus, distance (15 km) from the competition venue AlNasr Club. Shuttle buses to/from the competition venue will also be available from the hotel during the period. A shuttle bus timetable to Training/Competition venues will be available upon arrival. 3. Meals: The Al Bustan Centre & Residence will have a buffet style catering available as per the following timings: 1. Breakfast: 06:00 hrs – 10:00 hrs 2. Lunch: 12:00 hrs – 15:30 hrs 3. Dinner: 19:00 hrs – 23:00 hrs Note: Timings can be changed and can be adjusted according to further issues. The lunch box will be provided at the competition venue upon request allocated in the Dining Lounge. 3|Page 4. Competition Venue: The competition will take place in “AL Nasr Club”, AL Nasr Club is a locality in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Al Nasr, literally meaning victory, has several commercial and entertainment complexes, schools and cultural clubs. GENERAL OUTLINE OF THE COMPETITION The competitions will run in accordance with the BISFed International Boccia Rules In case of doubt or disagreement in the interpretation of the rules, the English version shall prevail. The BISFed Boccia Rules can be found on the BISFed website. www.bisfed.com Any case not included in this document shall be solved in accordance with the Technical Delegate for the competition. General information: 1. Weather: Dubai has a tropical desert climate because of its location within the Northern desert belt. Summers are extremely hot and humid,[1] with an average high around 41 °C (106 °F) and overnight lows around 30 °C (86 °F). Most days are sunny throughout the year. Winters are warm and short with an average high of 23 °C (73 °F) and overnight lows of 14 °C (57 °F). Precipitation, however, has been increasing in the last few decades with accumulated rain reaching 150 mm (5.91 in) per year.[3] The weather in Dubai can bring short and irregular rainfall as is typical for the Middle East. The hotel is located on the Palm Jumeirah at the checkpoint north of the island; it can be reached through an underwater tunnel on the railway line. The hotel costs up to 1,200 million. Ski Dubai: Ski Dubai is the first INDOOR ski resort to open in the Middle East. The resort is located at the heart of Mall of the Emirates, a famous shopping center in Dubai’s central part of the city. The Ski Dubai arena boasts a mountain-themed 22,500 square-meter space of skiing, snowboarding and tobogganing. If you just want to hang around and enjoy the nice temperature which is around 3 degrees Celsius.
