We are extremely grateful to our sponsors, new and old, together with the many volunteers without whom this event could not take place. The Badminton Dressage Championships promotes the development of dressage horses, ponies and riders of all ages and has been held, almost without interruption, every year over two days in Badminton Park since 1989. Classes this year include our usual Young Dressage Horse of the Future, Grass Roots, Middle of the Road, High Performance, Pony Club and Riding Club Team and individual competitions. Competitors for the Young Dressage Horse of the Future, Grass Roots, Middle of the Road and High Performance have to qualify at regional competitions throughout the country from March to the end of June each year. The Young Dressage Horse of the Future has produced some notable prize winners including two 2012 Olympians, Uthopia and Valegro. Another winner (2011 & 2012), who has progressed through the ranks is Woodlanders Farouche. The Young Dressage Horse of the Future is generously sponsored by Albion Saddlemakers The winner of the Young Dressage Horse receives a world record prize, together with a saddle made by our sponsors, Albion Saddlemakers. A training bursary will be awarded to the rider showing the greatest potential in The Grass Roots Championship Class. The bursary to be paid to a trainer approved by the organisers. Badminton Dressage Championships is non profit making and donations are given to various charities each year.
