Sitz Fall Bull - Sitz Angus Ranch
Sitz Fall Bull
Sale
same family • same philosophy • continuing down the same road for 92 years
Sitz Angus was started in 1923 by Will and Frieda Sitz with the purchase of 2 Angus Heifers. The Sitz herd was expanded on as the late Bob Sitz acquired
foundation females who traced their roots to the early Angus strongholds of Nebraska and Iowa. Bob continued to grow the herd and market bulls private
treaty. In 1966 the Sitz herd had grown to over 100 cows and was starting to gain prominence. It was on Dec. 15, 1966 when Sitz Angus Ranch hosted their
first annual Bull Sale selling 50 Angus Bulls. The Sitz program hasn’t waivered for 92 years. The breeding philosophies applied back then still ring true today.
Bob’s welcome letter of the 1966 1st annual bull sale speaks to raising bulls that are big, long thick made bulls; as he references the dollars and cents of the
business and the importance of genetics. Sitz Angus has maintained that focus for 50 years as our tagline today reads, “Eye appealing real world cattle that are
economically relevant.” Bob’s welcome letter in the 1967 bull sale catalog opens with these words “Yes, you can top the market with heavy calves if they are the
right kind. Our aim is to raise bulls that will sire calves that will go on and gain for the feeder and have the kind of carcass the packer wants.” Again Sitz Angus
has maintained that philosophy over the years as today we often speak of the need to produce cattle that work in all segments of the breed. From the beginning Sitz Angus has utilized all technologies available to enhance their genetic offering and to better serve you the customer providing you with information
to make the most informed decision possible.
On Dec 3, 2015 the 3rd generation of the Sitz family will be hosting their 50th Annual Fall Bull Sale and extend an invitation for you to celebrate this historic
event with us. We hope to see you then or feel free to stop by at anytime to view the Sitz program, as Bob states in the 1969 catalog “let the performance records
and your eye-ball evaluation be the final judge.”…. “Performance is bred in—not fed on”.
