Over Terminus Wake Park
The 14th annual Advocates for Children Duck Derby will be held Oct. 3 and
raises funds for the Cartersville-based organization.

--A minimum of 20,000 rubber ducks will hit the waters on Saturday at Terminus
Wake Park for the 14th annual Advocates for Children (http://advochild.org/)
Duck Derby.
The fundraiser, set for Oct. 3, is a fun event for the entire community, and a
great way to give back to the 3,000 children and families who benefit from
services provided by Advocates for Children.
The grand prize for this year’s Duck Derby is a guaranteed $10,000, with a
chance of winning an additional $1 million. The $10,000 grand prize is
sponsored by Kennesaw Transportation and KTI Logistics. The Million Dollar

Duck is sponsored by Terry Reid Buick GMC Hyundai and Reid Ridge Lodge.
Duck Derby entails adopting a rubber duck; the purchaser receives a number
while Advocates holds onto the actual rubber duck to go into the water. Duck
adoption packages range from $5 to $250. Ducks can be purchased in person
at the Advocates for Children office (49 Monroe Crossing SE in Cartersville) or
at one of the many businesses in town that are helping to sell ducks.

(https://www.duckrace.com/Cartersville) or by texting ‘AdvoChild’ to 243725.
All duck adoptions are an entry into the race, and every duck has a chance to
win the grand prize and many other outstanding prizes, including an Apple
Watch and a Yeti Cooler set. On the day of the event, a minimum of 20,000
ducks are released into the water and the first duck selected will win the grand
prize of $10,000.

There is no charge to attend Duck Derby
and all the fun activities of the day. The only cost to attend is for adults over the
age of 21 that want to partake in the Beer & Wine sampling and food pricing
which is set by individual food trucks.
Terminus Wake Park is part of the LakePoint Sporting Community located just
off exit 283 of Interstate 75 in Emerson.
