Needle Felted Critters with Kathy Frank
Learn the basics of needle felting and then move on to create
a fantastic ‘critter’ or two, time allowing. Construction
techniques will be demonstrated.
Creative critters encouraged!

Freestyle Silk Painting with Margie Goodluck
Hand-paint a pure silk scarf or silk fabric. Choose from
vibrant or pastel, warm or cool colours. The piece/s you
make will be ready to wear. Please wear old clothes or an
apron. All skill levels Welcome, suits 12 + years.
Materials supplied. Materials cost: $20 for one Scarf.
Add an extra $10 to $15 if you decide to do 2.

Pewter Casting with Shaun Leyland
Learn the ancient technique of pewter jewellery and object
making using cuttlebone casting. This introductory workshop
will demonstrate how cuttlebone was used in the past as a
mold to create precious metal objects and jewellery. You will
then have the opportunity to use the same process to create
something of your own design using pewter. Materials
included which, with care, includes enough to make two or
three small objects. Adult participants can purchase
additional materials if required. Old clothes recommended.
Bring an object design, sketch or idea with you.

iCord, Eye Candy
Knitting for beginners with Barbara McIlvain
Simply knitting four or five stitches you can create a variety of
cords to be turned into bag handles, necklaces, bracelets,
trims & motifs. Adding beads makes the cord sparkle. This
workshop is for all skill levels, including beginner knitters.
Confident knitters will learn a dozen different techniques. 4
ply wools and double-pointed needles will be available for
class use. Kit cost: $5.00, for beads and beading needle.

The Denim Journals with Margie Goodluck
Make & decorate your own art or writing journal, using
recycled denim and embellishments on the cover and quality
art paper inside. Margie will provide scissors, needles &
thread, fabric, paper, sewing equipment and embellishments.
All skill levels welcome, suits 8 + years.
Kit cost: $15 (or $25 to make 2 journals)

Everything Alice: Mad Hatters Tea Cosy with Penny O’Neill
Never have a boring tea party again. This spectacular
creation will bring good cheer to you and your tea loving
friends for years to come. Using a variety of knitting stitches
and brightly coloured yarn you will create an amazing tea
cosy complete with Rabbits and Top Hats. Learn to knit in
the round and make little animals. Never be afraid of bright
colours again. Skills developed include knitting with fine yarn
on double pointed needles, creating animals characters.
Colour selections. Kit included. A great workshop for Alice in
Wonderland fans or knitters wanting to learn about making

Dyeing Silk Naturally with Margie Goodluck
Firstly you will be shown basic tie-dying & resist techniques.
After folding & tying you will dye the silk in a large pot of
boiled Eucalyptus or Mistletoe leaves to create your own
unique design. The results are delightful. Margie will supply 1
large Pure Silk Scarf & sample pieces of fabric, natural dyes
& all equipment. Please wear old clothes or an apron. All skill
levels Welcome, suits 12 + years. Materials cost: $20

No Frogs No Holes
Crochet for beginners with Donovan Hannis
Crochet lessons haven't worked out? Can't remember which
hole the frog jumps in? Donovan has been working on a new
way to help beginners get accustomed to the hook and learn
basic stitches. Projects will be a simple doily and a simple
flower. They are designed to be easy to start, with a key-ring
replacing the initial foundation loops, and easy to follow, with
each stitch going in a big, obvious place. Tension control can
be practiced, without it being too critical to the end result. Before you give up on crochet forever, give this a
try. Bring your own hook and yarn if you wish. Key-rings,
yarn and loaner hooks available for a gold coin donation.

Fabulous Felted Fancies
with Penny O’Neill
A miniature wearable work of art will be yours after attending
this workshop. Use your knitting, needle felting, sewing and
beading skills to turn a small piece of felt into an object of
great beauty, limited only by your imagination. Working from
a kit you can customise the basic brooch to suit your own
ideas and tastes. Be the envy of your friends and let your
imagination take flight as you put to use your crafting skills to
produce a Fabulous Felted Fancy. Skills developed will
include - Needle felting, embroidery, knitting, beading, basic
sewing. Kit includes all materials. Kit cost: TBA

Felting Techniques Expanded with Kathy Frank
Starting with the felting basics, students will learn to
embellish, make cord, Nuno and resist felt. Widgets will be
demonstrated and design discussed. Pocket sizes may vary.
The end result will be a unique necklace. Kit cost: $12

Try your hand at painting wool in the colours and sequences
you want. Permanent dyes produce lovely bright or muted
colours. Kit includes wool, skeined and ready for dyeing and
the use of dyes and equipment. Kit cost: $20.00

Easy-Carve Printmaking
with Margie Goodluck
Surrealist T Cosy with Julie Millerick
Starting with the basics, this workshop explores numerous
felting techniques, such as embellished, netting, cord,
widgets, bead stick, needling, nuno, pre-felt and more, time
allowing. There will be instruction on how to use each
technique. The end result will be a collage as an example of
all techniques learned, ready for framing or to add to a larger
piece of work. Materials supplied. Kit cost: $15

Learn how to carve a simple design into an Ezy-Carve block.
(size approx. 10 x 10 cm). This is much easier than lino
cutting. You will print your carved design onto pieces of card
and/or fabric. Please bring a simple 10 x 10 cm design
sketched on paper. Please wear old clothes or an apron. All
skill levels welcome - suits 12 + years.

Basic Felting with Philomena Hali
Learn to felt using wool fibre/tops/sliver, fancy yarns and silk
to embellish your work. Pre–felts will be demonstrated and
applied in this workshop. Other methods of felting will be
shared with endless possibilities of creating fabulous felt.
Prepare to become addicted to this ancient technique of
creating a fabric from layered fibres which are agitated with
soap & water to form a strong durable cloth.

Embellished Beanies – Become a Beanie Wizard
With Penny O’Neill
Learn the tricks and skills to take your beanie knitting to new
heights. Take a simple beanie pattern and learn to knit all the
accessories that will make it a work of art and a "one of a
kind" Never have to search for a pattern again. Make knitted
balls, loops, flowers, ruffles and other amazing accessories
that will make a beanie all your own, not just one from a pattern book. From the Author of "Fantastical Hats and Beanies"

Garden in Stitches II with Donovan Hannis
Add new flowers to your crochet garden. Donovan has been
working on patterns for the Australian Bluebell and
Cosmos. Patterns for last year's Sturt Desert Pea and
Poached-Egg Daisy also will be available. We will talk about
leaves and centres for your flowers. Basic crochet skills
will be needed. This workshop is not for beginners
(Beginners -- Check out "No Frogs, No Holes.") Bring your
favourite yarn and hook combination, or use materials
available on the day for a gold-coin donation.

Have you ever felt like talking to your T Pot? Well now you
can! Create a Tea Cosy from a character of your wildest
dreams. We will use wool and acrylic yarns, old costume
jewellery, woolen and knitted fabrics, objects saved from
oblivion, and anything else that you wish to bring. Come with
a fascination for the extreme. You could make a juggler with
a tattered hat, or an 18th century madam with hat of fans and
feathers. Julie will supply tea pot as an armature, needles,
crochet hooks, knitting needles, cotton and the sleeve of a
jumper to use as a base. You can delve into a box of
hysterical tricks, feathers, fabrics, laces, men's ties and other
stuff for a $10 materials fee, or you are welcome to bring
your own wild stuff.

Knotless Netting with Philomena Hali
Participants will learn to make a ‘dilly bag’ using this simple,
effective technique. Horizontal design will be demonstrated
as an option to create a basket or soft sculptural form.
Knotless netting is simple, portable and versatile - it can be
done on planes, buses or while travelling - or watching
television - prepare to be hooked! Plying will also be
demonstrated using cloth & string - this becomes a useful
skill in construction of handles and various other applications.
No previous experience necessary.
Materials supplied. Kit cost: $5.00.

Shibori on a Bottle: Microwave Dyeing
with Philomena Hali
Learn to create controlled designs & ‘free style’ marks on silk
with Shibori resist techniques & other inventive resist
methods. Make a silk scarf using great earthy colours and
bright vibrant hues, with Landscape and Acid dyes. A great
workshop for having fun and taking away your own designer
scarf or wrap ready to wear. No previous experience necessary. Materials supplied. Kit Cost: $10.00/Blank Silk Scarves

Modular Square Medley
with Barbara McIlvain
Knit domino squares! The best part of this class is learning
how to weave in all the loose ends as you knit, but you’ll also
learn how to modify the basic design, how to create a chain
edge, and for the adventurous, how to knit and purl in
reverse. You can turn your little sample knitting into a mini
pocket. Participants must be comfortable knitting and
purling. Wool & assorted needles provided, or you can bring
your own.

Making Silk Paper with Kathy Frank
Silk fusion will be used to create lovely pieces of paper-like
silk. The results will be four types of fused silk, plain,
embellished, sculptured, and landscape. Uses for the silk
paper will be discussed. Materials supplied. Kit cost: $15
