1910, the first FUJIYA was opend in Yokohama by Rin-­‐Emon Fujii. 1912, Rin-­‐Emon Fujii, he started on a journey to the USA for the research of western-­‐style cakes circumstances and of technological master. 1914, the new concept shop was established as an annex in the FUJIYA Cake shop that was the first Soda Fountain in Japan! 1922, FUJIYA launched shortcake and cream puff that became famous and popular in Japan, and even if today, these two paOsseries are the most favorite of Japanese. 1923, FUJIYA Ginza was opend in August as a flagship shop of FUJIYA but one month aTer, this modern FUJIYA Ginza was burn down totally because of the Kanto Great Earthquake… 1924, Rin-­‐Emon opend the small store of barracks that gave courage to a lot of merchants who lost energy to stand up aTer this big disaster… 1930, the unlimited partnership Fujiya was established, and Rin-­‐Emon opend FUJIYA stores in Omori and Shinjuku. Shinjuku store was a modern, large-­‐scale store that had a restaurant on the second floor and a factory on the under ground floor. 1931, the Ginza factory was constructed and FUJIYA conOnued to open many stores in Japan. 1934, FUJIYA launched ‘’France Caramel’’ that was the first caramel in Japan and became very popular. 1938, the Fujiya Company Limited was established. 1945, FUJIYA restarted aTer the World War II. 1950, FUJIYA created the cute li_le gril ‘’PEKO chan’’ that became popular and this is the first idol of Japanese children. 1951, ‘’POKO chan’’ was born as a boyfriend of ‘’PEKO chan’’, and ‘’Milky’’, the caramel made from condensed milk was launched, very big success of FUJIYA and we love it always ! 1952, FUJIYA launched the first Christmas cake to celebrate in the family and the Chrismas sales became the most important commercial promoOon for every business of Japan ! The sales of the first soT ice cream, calling ‘’SoTcream’’ started. 1954, ‘’POP candy’’ and ‘’Parasol chocolate’’ were launched and they became the symbolic sweets of FUJIYA. 1956, FUJIYA started the ValenOne sales and the Valentaine became very popular and the big sales chance was born for the confecOonary firm of Japan ! 1959, ‘’Double Chocolate’’, the first chocolate bar where cream entered inside, very innovaOve chocolate bar was born. 1961, the logo mark of FUJIYA was created by the famous designer, Raymond Lowey, and this logo is very popular caling Family mark of FUJIYA. 1962, ‘’LOOK’’ was launched. The four different flavour cream was entered inside. The packaging of ‘’LOOK’’ was also designed by Raymond Lowey. I proposed ‘’PEKO chan’’ only of silhoue_e to FUJIYA, because this cute li_le girl is very poplular as Micky Mouse in Japan. The ‘’Shilhoue_e PEKO’’ was designed by my partner, Masaki NAKAMURA. I should think that the ‘’Shilhoue_e PEKO’’ must be appreciated by not only children but also adult women grown up with ‘’PEKO chan’’ as me, who love KAWAII things…
