Introduction
The course sets out:
• To educate candidates to apply their vision and
philosophy holistically to develop senior teams,
playing at the highest standard in New Zealand,
and elite youth players.
• To understand and utilise the professional coach
model in the performance phase.
Course objectives
On completion of the course, successful candidates
should demonstrate knowledge and competence in
the following:
• A clear Football Vision and Philosophy
• The Objectives and Structure of Football
• Develop and articulate a Team Model
• Apply the Professional Coach Model
• An understanding of variety of Team Models,
Styles, Tactics and Strategies
• Complete a Season Periodization Plan
• Analyse Football and be able to define and design
football sessions to improve performance
• Plan, Prepare, Conduct and Evaluate Training
• The Management of Self and Others

OFC and NZF encourage a growth mindset in which candidates take responsibility for their learning.
Therefore, all candidates will be expected to actively participate in all aspects of practical, theoretical
discussion, group and individual tasks. The course will create an interactive working environment to
ensure that coaches experience ‘real life’ scenarios.

Course Schedule
The table below provides an example of the level of commitment required by candidates. This schedule
may be subject to change:

requirement of Part 1 (at least 2 months

Each participating Coach should produce evidence of their season periodization plan and provide at
least 20 completed practical sessions to illustrate the delivery and evaluation of the periodized plan
For whom is the course intended?
For successful holders of the following award:
• Coaches actively working with Senior Teams at the highest level in New Zealand, Elite Youth Teams or
the National Governing body
• Those holding a current NZF Senior Level 3/OFC B Licence or recognised current equivalent
qualification such as AFC/UEFA B Licence
• Candidates must have at least 2 years coaching experience at NZF Senior Level 3/OFC B Licence (or
equivalent) before applying
• Candidates applying with an overseas qualification must produce evidence of their qualification

Applications
Candidates are expected to apply via New Zealand Football’s online tool Goalnet prior to the course
closing date of July 31st 2015
Applicants must:
• Complete the application form and submit
- Evidence of current qualifications
- A letter detailing why they should be accepted onto the course
- A CV detailing their playing history and coaching experience
Applications will be scrutinized after the closing date by a technical panel and places offered by August
14th 2015
OFC Technical Department and NZF will notify candidates as to whether they have been:
• Offered a place
• Placed on a standby list
• Unsuccessful
Those offered a place will be given 2 weeks (August 31st 2015) to accept their place and pay the course
fee before that place is offered to someone from the standby list.

Course Fees
$3150 for Part 1 and Part 2 of the course
This covers:
• A Course tuition
• Course resources and learning materials
• Course apparel
• Daily lunch
Accommodation and travel is not included and is the responsibility of the candidate
Candidates will be furnished with full terms and conditions when offered a place
Assessment
All candidates will have a final assessment in the following aspects:
• Written Exam
• Practical Coaching – Final Assessment
- Periodised Plan
- Match Analysis
- Detailed Session Plan
- Conduct a session based on the Match Analysis
For the final assessment, candidates will be required to conduct a practical coaching assessment
session, which must use the Game Training Components to solve a football problem.
• Distance Learning – Completion of distance Learning Tasks
- Vision and Philosophy

- Half Time Team Talk
- Match Plan
- Periodised Plan
- 20 Session Plans
- Oral Interview
• Each candidate is allowed three assessment opportunities.
• The candidate is required to pass one assessment to be deemed competent.
• Therefore, if they pass the first assessment they do not need to utilise the remaining two
opportunities.
• If a candidate fails such assessment opportunities they must re-apply to enrol on the NZF/OFC A
Licence at a later date.
• Re-assessment may attract an additional fee.
