Portable roller swagers
Portable roller swagers WORLD STANDARD TERMINALS ON FULL FOR SWAGING OF STEEL WIRE ROPES We replace brute force with rollers T he yacht market was wher e we began. Our first machine was developed in the mid-seventies. A machine that did away with convention. All previous concepts of fitting terminals onto full-steel wire rope and solid rod were turned upside down. Further, the terminal was also straight, not curved, as was usual hithereto. The principle is simple. The terminal itself drives the rollerdies. The machine works with a freely rotating pair of rollers, driven when the terminal is drawn between them. It is a simple and robust design with the minimum of movable parts, making it reliable both in the field and in rational production. Development was quick. In many fields, the need for high strength swaged terminals is considerable. The machines perform equally effectively on solid rod as they do on fullsteel wire. The breaking load is as high as that of the rod or wire. motor or compressed air. Due to the portability, a permanent on site solution can be achieved in all circumstances. The range is wide, and the capacity is from 1,5 mm - 44 mm, wire or rod. SPELTER SOCKETS AND SLEEVES REPLACED Our technique provides a new alternative to sleeves, spelter sockets and the joining of non weldable materials. ELECTRICITY, AIR OR MAN POWER A big advantage with our swagers is their portability. One man can do the job, whether he uses a manual pump, an electric Our customers Among the companies placing their confidence in us are Atlas Copco, Alfa Laval, British Rail, NATO, Seldén Mast AB, Spine Robotic, US Navy, Yamaha, Swedish Rail, the Swedish Army and National Power, Swedish Forest industry, the Commercial Fishing Navy and the University of Stuttgart. Development consultants Ball and Stud Puller BP4-8 We cater for everything from different forms of retention to special test-rig terminals for strain testing new, special hightensile, line designs. Today we also act as development consultants to many of our customers. We produce new ideas and solutions to problems where often old routines dominated. We make an inventory of a customer’s needs and suggest new or improved solutions. Our policy is one of the continual developments of safe, reliable and functional fastenings for cables, wires and rods together with further development of our patented terminal presses. We sell not only machines and terminals that are designed and adapted to meet the requirements of our customers, but also complete and finished cables. Then mark and insert cable to the bot tom of the terminal throat. 1.Choose the roller pair of dies that cor- responds to the cable diameter and slip them into the cogwheel synchronizing pins. The arrows on the dies should al ways be in swaging direction. 6.Measure the diameter of the terminal shank after swaging. 4.Move into position the transparent face plastic protector. Apply hydraulic pres sure to draw the terminals between the roller dies. 2.Attach the terminal to the attachment fixture on the drawing arm and adjust the length of the drawing arm so the roller dies meet on the terminal shank at the desired position. Before swaging, always make sure that the hydraulic plunger is fully retracted. 5.When they rotate they will press the terminal shank onto the wire rope. Note: When swaging solid rods must a special swaging compound be used. After swaging wipe off the roller dies and spray the dies and the swager with a corrosive preventative. However variations in dimensions of the terminal or cable or material hardness may make two passes necessary.
