Sticker Culture Project Chiek JULY 2016 #07 JULY 2016 #07 How would you define NIX? Chiek Nulzevenéén is a fat chicken that wonders the earth. Its shape changes continuously and every artwork is unique. The stickers are mostly designed with help from my artist-friends so every sticker-edition has a different style. I also do a lot of graffiti. 01 Sticker Culture Project JULY 2016 #07 How did all begin? How long have you been with this? It started 5 years ago, I was always doing graffiti but a character is more recognizable so I decided it was time to make a change to streetart/stickering. 02 Sticker Culture Project JULY 2016 #07 03 Sticker Culture Project JULY 2016 #07 Why do you attaching stickers? Because you can paste them all day, everyday. Always carry them with me and when I find a nice spot, I claim it. But the best part is walking home drunk from the party and just fill streets with them. 04 Sticker Culture Project JULY 2016 #07 An interesting anecdote? Here are always people that are amazed by the person “behind the sticker”, I usually don’t tell people but when they see me pasting one and recognize it, sometimes it give you a kick. I was in Thailand and in the Mac Donalds my character was recognized by a guy who lives in Holland too. Coincidence or not, it made my night even better. 05 Sticker Culture Project JULY 2016 #07 How do you see the sticker culture? Is there really subculture? There is definitely a subculture, I recognize people by their character or sticker, I don’t even know their real name but because you have a common hobby, they feel like friends. 06 Sticker Culture Project JULY 2016 #07 07 Sticker Culture Project JULY 2016 #07 Do you considerer this movement like an art? What do you try to transmit with this? The decoration of your city can feel liberating, to add something to the streets wich are static mostly is a beautiful thing to me. Seeing other stickers in my town, makes me happy. 08 Sticker Culture Project JULY 2016 #07 Anything new in mind? I’d love to do sculptures or make/install public statues, I was thinking hydrophobic art, art with moss…. Oh I have so many ideas. CONTACT chiek.nulzeveneen 15 Sticker Culture Project /chiek_071/ Sticker Culture Project Stickem is an e-zine born to advertise the work of artist related to the sticker art. There is a little particularity in the way the next interviewed is chosen. We are not who does it, is the previous artist who decides who will be the next one to be interviewed. In this way we create an organic growing where artists move forward the interview to the next one so we don’t know where this will end! PROJECT BY: JESÚS CEBADER PEIPEGATA
