Jacobsen ® Rollers
Rollers play a critical role in providing consistent, even support for the mower, particularly the cutting unit.
That’s why Jacobsen ® offers a complete selection of rollers to meet the cutting performance and ground
following you desire, regardless of the application.
Front Rollers
Grooved Machined Aluminium
Grooves in the roller allow the cutting unit to sit further down into the
turf for a more aggressive cut and improved straight-line tracking.
G r o o v e d M a ch i n e d S t e e l
Provides the performance advantages of the grooved aluminium roller,
however, the steel is heavier which results in an even more aggressive cut.
Grooved Segmented Machined Aluminium
This grooved machined aluminium system features three segments. These
segments can rotate at different speeds, making tight turns on greens
easier when doing cleanup passes.
Grooved Assembly Steel Disc
Wide spacing between the discs makes these rollers the most aggressive;
recommended for straight-line mowing only.
Solid Tubes
Available in light or heavy versions; both are less aggressive than grooved
rollers making them ideal for use on turf under stress. They are better
than full-length grooved rollers for tight turns on cleanup passes because
solid rollers slide across the turf. The heavier roller is slightly more
aggressive. Rollers feature a scraper to prevent debris buildup.
Rear Rollers
These rollers help to support the cutting unit and ensure there is a consistent height of cut across the unit. The rear
roller also delivers a manicured, striping effect after the cut.

At Jacobsen, we are renowned for our quality of cut. In order to help
accomplish that, we have a full line of Legendary Bedknives™ that help get
the height and quality of cut you are looking for time after time.
There are 7 types of bedknives available to meet your specific need:
• Heavy Section – .25” thick. Mostly for
Tri Kings, older fairways and some current
fairway units.
• Medium Section – .204” thick. Typically used
for smaller fairway applications.

For all greens mowers (except the TC22), the
height of cut range is 0.063” to 0.438” (1.6mm
to 11.1mm) depending on turf conditions
and bedknife installed.
For the TC22, the height-of-cut range is 0.118”
to 0.394” (3.0mm to 10.0mm) depending on
turf conditions and bedknife installed.

For optimum cutting quality and fuel economy, always
maintain sharp, balanced cutting blades. Sharpen blades
every 6-8 hours of operation or more frequently in sandy
conditions.
To maximize engine life, thoroughly clean the radiator and add
a 50/50 coolant/water mixture as required. Check oil daily.
Change oil, oil filter and air filter every 250 hours.

What is Turf Grooming?
Why Choose Jacobsen Groomers?
In a nutshell, the reel and grooming cutting system is
a proactive, three-dimensional mowing process which
provides less thatch, thicker and healthier turf and
better playability.
The Jacobsen Turf Groomer ® is available for walking
greens mowers, riding greens mowers, and fairway
mowers. It also comes in two blade spacings:
• .250” – just right for most greens.
• .500” – use for light grooming; near sand traps
(where larger grain sand is used); and for no-clog
performance in taller grass (such as fairways).

• Intersecting Blades and Roller Combination
Undesirable horizontally or diagonally growing grass blades are
cut and shaped by the groomer, while the desirable vertically
growing blades are left untouched.
- The Turf Groomer blades intersect with the front grooved
roller. As the front roller lifts horizontal grass “runners,”
the groomer blades rotate through the roller slots to cut
the grass before it has a chance to lie back.
