Jennifer Alford-Hall is a second year MBA candidate at Emory University’s Goizueta Business
School. She is originally from Atlanta, Georgia and has a B.S. in Building Construction from
the Georgia Institute of Technology. During her senior year at Georgia Tech, she created and
led a residential construction firm focused on urban revitalization developing over 20 homes and
more than $4 million in product revenue during a four-year period. Last summer, Jennifer interned at JPMorgan in
the Real Estate Investment Banking group, where she was selected as a Launching Leaders Fellow. Jennifer enjoys
traveling, dining out in new places and exploring new cultures.
Carlton A. Byrd

Prior to joining the U.S. Treasury, Mr. Byrd served as Senior U.S. Executive for IKOS Asset
Management, a $1.5 billion global macro and currency fund and Director of Institutional
Business Development at Prisma Capital Partners, a $4 billion alternative asset management
firm. Prior to joining Prisma Capital, Mr. Byrd was a founding Managing Director at RLJ
Select Investments, where he led the development of their institutional hedge fund of fund asset
management platform in partnership between the RLJ Companies and Deutsche Asset Management. Prior, he was a
founding Managing Director at Cameron Capital Management, a convertible arbitrage hedge fund and a Senior Vice
President with FBR Investment Management, a financial institution focused asset management platform. Mr. Byrd
began his career at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in 1994 where he spent eight years as a Vice President in Goldman’s
equity capital markets and sales/trading group. While at Goldman, Mr. Byrd developed and taught “Equity Markets
and Portfolio Theory” at Baruch’s College of Continuing Studies. Mr. Byrd served six years as an officer in the U.S.
Navy, where he received the Southwest Asia Service Medal for deployment aboard the USS EL Paso (LKA-117)
during Operation Desert Storm. Mr. Byrd holds a B.S. Economics degree in Finance from the Wharton School of
Business and a B.A.S. degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Byrd also holds an
M.B.A. from the Harvard Graduate School of Business.
Gwendolyn L. Butler

As President and Chief Operating Officer, Ms. Butler oversees the operations of the investment,
client service, marketing, and financial activities of the firm. She has 32 years of institutional
lending, corporate finance, and investment management experience including serving as
Executive Director of UBS Global Asset Management and Managing Director of Bear Stearns
& Co. Ms. Butler received a Masters of Management from the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School
of Business of Northwestern University with a concentration in Finance and a Bachelor of Arts
degree in Economics from the University of Michigan. Ms. Butler holds the Series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses.
Kristin R. Finney-Cooke

Kristin is a principal in Mercer’s Chicago office as well as the National Public Fund Segment
Leader for Mercer Investment Consulting. She is responsible for providing clients with advice
on asset allocation, investment policy development, investment manager selection, performance
measurement and overall analysis and evaluation of results. Currently, Kristin provides these
services to large public and corporate fund clients. Prior to joining Mercer, Kristin spent
over six years at Credit Suisse First Boston in their Private Client Services Group where her primary focus was to
develop and implement customized investment strategies to meet her client’s financial objectives. Kristin received a
BS degree from Howard University and an MBA in Finance and Accounting from the Graduate School of Business
at the University of Chicago.
Danita Johnson

Danita Johnson is an Investment Manager with Franklin Templeton Investments where she is
actively involved in sourcing, underwriting and monitoring global private real estate investment
vehicles. Additionally, she serves as an Assistant Portfolio Manager and Chairperson of
the Diversity/MWBE Committee. Prior to joining Franklin Templeton, Ms. Johnson was an
Investment Officer with the New York City Comptroller’s Office where she assisted with the
oversight of the New York City Retirement Systems’ private equity real estate investment
portfolio and with the implementation of the Emerging Manager Program. Prior to joining New York City, Ms.
Johnson worked with Prudential Financial in the Equity Research Group where she was involved with the research
and analysis of publicly traded corporations in the Healthcare sector and with Credit Suisse First Boston in the
Credit Risk Management Division where she facilitated the development and implementation of a global credit
exposure and risk monitoring business application system. Ms. Johnson holds a B.A. in Economics from the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a member of the Real Estate Executive Council and the National
Association of Securities Professionals.
Rob Kochis
Principal

Mr. Kochis has 21 years of direct real estate experience, including real estate law, urban
planning and development, and portfolio consulting. Mr. Kochis currently provides real estate
investment consulting to public and Taft-Hartley pension funds having real estate investment
programs totaling more than $15 billion. Services include strategic and investment planning,
structuring programs for multi-asset class portfolios, and identification and selection of managers,
pooled funds and individual account investment opportunities. In addition to domestic pension
fund clients, Mr. Kochis advises an overseas private investor in the implementation of a $400 million real estate
investment program focusing upon private investment in the United States and global real estate securities. In
connection with this program, he helped craft a tax efficient means of repatriating investment income and completed
a study recommending allocation methods for an efficient global real estate portfolio. Prior to joining Townsend,
Mr. Kochis was a practicing real estate attorney at a leading regional law firm, and an Economic Development
Specialist in the Office of the Mayor for the City of Akron, Ohio. Mr. Kochis is an Advisory Board member and
contributor to several real estate associations and is a frequent speaker at industry and client conferences. He
received a BS in Public Policy Management from the University of Akron and a JD from Case Western Reserve
University School of Law.
Kenneth T. Lombard

Mr. Lombard most recently served as President of Starbucks Entertainment, a position he held
from 2004 to 2008. In that position, Mr. Lombard provided the vision and strategy for Starbucks
Entertainment initiatives. Under his leadership, Starbucks experienced remarkable success across
every entertainment platform. Prior to joining Starbucks, Mr. Lombard served as President of
Johnson Development Corporation (JDC) since its inception in 1992 until 2004. Mr. Lombard
was instrumental in fulfilling the company’s mission to become one of the nation’s foremost
urban development companies. During his tenure as president of JDC, he negotiated numerous
partnerships between JDC and the following companies: Starbucks (UCO/Urban Coffee Company), Loews Cineplex
Entertainment (Magic Johnson Theatres), T.G.I. Friday’s (Magic Johnson’s T.G.I. Friday’s), Washington Mutual
Bank along with the acquisition of Fatburger Hamburger Company. He also established real estate partnerships
with Canyon Advisors, which resulted in Canyon Johnson Urban Fund and MacFarlane Partners which resulted
in Johnson MacFarlane Urban Partners, which invested in real estate assets valued in excess of $3 billion. These
joint ventures invested in real estate investments, which included retail centers and office complexes, along with
mixed-use developments throughout the urban communities in the US. Mr. Lombard earned a bachelor’s degree in
communications from the University of Washington, and currently sits on the Boards of Directors for Timberland
and City Year. He lives in Los Angeles, California.
O. Ike Michaels, Jr.

Dr. Michaels oversees private equity, infrastructure, real estate, and strategic investor
relationships for PML Capital Limited based in Abuja, Nigeria. Prior to PML, Dr. Michaels
has more than 25 years of experience in investment and portfolio management obtained from
senior positions in the United States, Europe and Africa. From 2005 to 2008, he was the Deputy
Chief Investment Officer (Deputy Director) and Co-Head of Alternative Investments with the
New Jersey Division of Investment (NJDOI) with direct responsibility for $3.5 billion in real estate investments and
$1.5 billion of the infrastructure allocation; 2001 to 2005, he was a Portfolio Manager and Director of Investment
Research for the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS); 1998 to 2001, he was a Co-founder
and Managing Partner of African Private Equity Partners, LLC where he performed financial advisory work for
international clients looking for investments in West Africa; 1998 to 2001, he was Senior Vice President with the $2
billion proprietary trading desk of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ) now Credit Suisse; 1995 to 1998 he was a
Managing Director and Head of Emerging Markets at Imperial Capital, LLC, Beverly Hills, California, overseeing
more than $500 million in high net worth investments; 1992 to 1995, Vice President and Corporate Bond Analyst
with Salomon Brothers, Inc.; 1989 to 1992, High Yield Analyst for $10 billion portfolio with First Capital Holdings
Corporation, Los Angeles, California; and 1983 to 1988, Assistant Vice President (Merchant Banking) with Bank
of America in West Africa and London. Dr. Michaels earned his Doctorate degree in international business and
strategy from the International School of Management (ISM), Paris, France; M.Sc. degree in international finance
from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles; and MBA and B.Sc. (Honours) degrees in finance, banking
and monetary economics from the University of Nigeria, Enugu, Nigeria. Some of his professional memberships
include The CFA Institute, The New York Society of Securities Analysts (NYSSA) and the National Association of
Securities Dealers (NASD – Series 7 & 24). Dr. Michaels is a Trustee of the USA Boxing Foundation (for amateur
boxing) and The Ark of Hope, Inc. (for at-risk children and youth).
Stephanie D. Neely
City Treasurer
City of Chicago
Stephanie D. Neely, a native of Chicago who grew up on the Southside, brings to the Office
of Treasurer of the City of Chicago more than 20 years of financial services experience with
leading investment banking institutions. A former vice president at Northern Trust Global
Investments, Ms. Neely consistently draws on her work in the fields of asset management,
municipal and corporate finance in her role as Treasurer of the City of Chicago. Ms. Neely has
a deep personal commitment to serving the City, and has brought a wealth of experience to the
Office of the Treasurer. She is one of three citywide elected offices in the City of Chicago government; the other
two are Mayor and City Clerk. As Treasurer, Ms. Neely is responsible for investing a portfolio of approximately
$7 billion and serves as a trustee on five public pension boards. Ms. Neely holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics
from Smith College and a Master’s Business Administration in Finance from the University of Chicago, Graduate
School of Business. She was appointed City Treasurer by Mayor Richard M. Daley in December 2006 and won a
citywide municipal election in February 2007.
Quintin E. Primo III

Mr. Primo has 30 years of real estate investment experience. Prior to co-founding Capri in
1992, he was Managing Director of Q. Primo & Company, Inc., a real estate investment-banking
firm based in Chicago. Previously, Mr. Primo was Vice President for Citicorp Real Estate,
Inc. In this capacity, he completed over $2.5 billion in financings on office, retail, industrial,
hotel and residential properties. He was also active in the securitization of commercial real estate mortgage loans.
Mr. Primo holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Harvard University Graduate School of
Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, with honors and high distinction, from
Indiana University. Mr. Primo is a director of the Real Estate Roundtable and a member of the Pension Real Estate
Association, Urban Land Institute, and other professional and civic organizations. He is a trustee of the Church
Pension Group, a multibillion-plan sponsor that is unaffiliated with Capri Capital.
Timothy L. Reynolds
Senior Portfolio Manager - Mortgage & Real Estate Division
State of Michigan Retirement System
Mr. Reynolds graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, with a Bachelor’s of Business
Administration Degree, majoring in Finance. He has been employed by the State of Michigan Retirement Systems
(SMRS) for 18 years as a Senior Portfolio Manager, and is responsible for investing and managing a portfolio
of debt and equity real estate instruments in all asset classes, both domestically and internationally. Prior to his
employment with SMRS, Mr. Reynolds worked for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in
Grand Rapids, Michigan for three years as a Portfolio Analyst, reviewing financial compliance with government
guidelines of partnership entities in multifamily mortgage transactions. His employment history also includes
seven years as an International Banking Officer for Manufactures’ National Bank in Detroit, Michigan working in
the international department completing foreign exchange settlement transactions. He is originally from Detroit,
Michigan and graduated from Cass Technical High School.
Steven Rogers

Steven Rogers is the Gordon and Llura Gund Family Distinguished Professor of
Entrepreneurship. Professor Rogers teaches Entrepreneurial Finance at Kellogg and is the
Director of the Larry and Carol Levy Institute for Entrepreneurial Practice. Before joining the
Kellogg Faculty, he owned and operated two manufacturing firms and one retail operation. Prior
to becoming an entrepreneur, Professor Rogers worked at Bain and Company Consulting firm,
Cummins Engine Company and UNC Ventures, a venture capital firm.
Professor Rogers has been named to the Faculty Honor Roll in every quarter he has taught at Kellogg. He has
received numerous teaching awards, including the 1996 and 2005 Lawrence G. Lavengood Outstanding Professor
of the Year. He is the only professor in Kellogg’s history to have received this award more than once. In 1996,
BusinessWeek named him one of the top 12 entrepreneurship professors at graduate business schools in the U.S. In
1997, BusinessWeek named him one of 14 “New Stars of Finance.” In 1998, he was selected as Entrepreneur Of
The Year ® (supporter category) by Ernst & Young.
In addition to the regular MBA program, Professor Rogers teaches in many Kellogg executive programs in the U.S.,
Toronto and Hong Kong. He has received the Outstanding Professor Award for the Executive Program 19 times.
Professor Rogers currently serves on the Advisory Board of Private Equity firm OCA Ventures. He also serves on
the Board of Directors of SC Johnson Wax, W.S. Darley & Company, SuperValu (NYSE), Oakmark Mutual Funds,
and AMCORE Financial (Nasdaq). He is a member of JP Morgan Chase’s Capital Investment Committee. His nonprofit work includes board membership for The A Better Chance Program and Urban Prep High School. Professor
Rogers is also a former Trustee of Williams College and a former member of the Harvard Business School Visiting
Committee.
In 2000, he received the “Bicentennial Medal for Distinguished Achievement” by an alum from Williams College.
In 2005, he received the “Bert King Award for Service” from the African American Student Union of Harvard
Business School. In 2005, he also was selected as “Chicago United’s Business Leader of Color.” In 2006, he was
selected as one of the “100 Men Impacting Supplier Diversity.” In 2007, he was inducted into his alma mater,
Radner High School’s, Hall of Fame. In 2008 he was inducted into the Minority Business Hall of Fame. Governor
Pat Quinn appointed him to be a trustee of the Illinois State Universities Retirement System Pension Board in 2009.
He has been often quoted in many publications, including Black Enterprise, Crain’s Business Journal, Financial
Times, The Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Fortune and BusinessWeek. In 2002
Professor Rogers published his first book, The Entrepreneur’s Guide to Finance and Business.
He received an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Williams College. He has
also completed three mini-Triathlons.

Amachie K. Ackah, Founder & Managing Partner of Cedar Hill Real Estate Partners, LP,
an affiliate of the Investment Advisor, where he has responsibilities over the investment process
and portfolio management. He has over fifteen years of real estate industry experience as a
professional in both real estate investment funds and development companies. Prior to joining
Cedar Hill, Mr. Ackah was a principal responsible for acquisitions and portfolio management at
Lubert-Adler Partners LP, a premier real estate opportunity fund, for four years. He also served
as director of acquisitions and development for the Buccini/Pollin Group Inc., a real estate
operating partner that acquires, develops, and manages commercial, lodging, residential, and
office properties in the Mid-Atlantic United States. Mr. Ackah was a member of the investment
team at the Praedium Group LP (formerly Credit Suisse First Boston’s real estate opportunity
fund) and an analyst at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Mr. Ackah holds a BA from Williams College
and an MBA in Finance and Real Estate from the Wharton School of the University of
Pennsylvania, where he was a Toigo Fellow and distinguished as a Murphy Fellow by the faculty
of the Zell-Lurie Real Estate Center.
Rod L. Bailey, President of GVA Advantis Advisors, LLC is the senior executive responsible
for executing the Company’s business plan, including continued direct involvement advising
key company clients, mostly in tenant representation transactions and Corporate Services,
general business development, including pursuit of new client relationships, directing the dayto-day operations, personnel development and recruitment, and managing and coordinating all
of its resources and assignments. GVA Advantis Advisors is a partnership of Red Rock Global
and GVA Advantis, and is a minority owned and controlled business enterprise. The Company
provides full-service commercial real estate services, including tenant representation, facilities
and property management, advisory services, portfolio management/lease administration
services, project management and development services and investment sales services to
corporate, government agencies and institutional real estate users and owners.
Alan R. Braxton, Managing Partner & Co-Founder of Presidio Partners, LLC, a real
estate private equity and advisory firm with a singular focus on providing capital raising and
advisory services to fund sponsors, operators, REITs and other real estate and infrastructure
market participants. Since the firm’s inception in May 2003, Presidio has completed equity
engagements in excess of $11.0 billion on behalf of its clients. These clients have targeted
strategies for U.S., European, Latin American and Pan-Asian markets with equity capital
originating from institutional investors spanning the global markets.
Moctesuma Esparza, Chief Executive Officer of Maya Cinemas North America, Inc., is an
award-winning filmmaker, producer, entertainment executive, entrepreneur and activist, revered
for his contributions to the movie industry and commitment to Latinos everywhere. Esparza
established Maya Cinemas, a growing chain of modern movie theatre complexes, and Maya
Entertainment, the only Latino owned Entertainment Company targeting U.S. Latinos today.
Some of his production credits include: Selena, The Milagro Beanfield War, The Disappearance
of Garcia Lorca, and most recently Walkout for HBO. Esparza founded the Los Angeles
Academy of Arts and Enterprise Charter School, is Co-Founder of NALIP, Co-Founder of the
Smithsonian Latino Center, and founding Member of the Cesar Chavez Foundation. Esparza
was appointed by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa Commissioner to the Los Angeles
City Employees Retirement System and, most recently, was appointed by U.S. Senate Majority
Leader Harry Reid to the planning commission of the National Museum of the American Latino.
Victor B. MacFarlane, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of MacFarlane Partners, one of
the leading real estate investment management firms in the U.S. with $7 billion in assets under
management. Considered a pioneer of the urban investment concept among institutional real
estate managers, Victor has 30 years of real estate investment, development and management
experience and has worked extensively on behalf of some of the world’s largest pension plans
and institutions.
Richmond S. McCoy, President & CEO/CIO of UrbanAmerica, LP, founded in 1998 as a
real estate private equity firm to become America’s pre-eminent vehicle for fiscally and socially
prudent investment in inner city commercial real estate. UrbanAmerica’s Fund I and Fund II
have raised over $520 million in equity. In 2004 UrbanAmerica’s Fund II extended its general
partnership to include the New York-based Fisher Brothers. UrbanAmerica’s focus is to deploy
equity into real estate assets tenanted by government, medical, academic institutions and
supermarket-anchored retail, as well as for-sale housing. The organization operates a portfolio
of over 5 million sq. ft. of commercial real estate valued in excess of $2 billion. UrbanAmerica’s
investors include many of the country’s largest public pensions, banks and insurance companies.
Ronald K. McDonald, Managing Principal - RMC Development, LLC, a full-service real
estate development consulting, finance and investment company with a focus on private and
public-private projects including major mixed-use, transit-oriented development (TOD) and
base closure (BRAC). RMC crafts solutions on behalf of public and private clients for large,
complex real estate development projects that offer economic and community benefit. RMC
has led a complex multi-year acquisition and entitlement for the Department of Defense’s Base
Realignment and Closures (BRAC) project David Taylor Research Center, Annapolis, Maryland.
Regarded as one of the nation’s most challenging military base transfers, plans are underway for
a 46-acre waterfront development across from the United States Naval Academy. The $250M
project boasts 3,000 lineal feet of shoreline, ten Class A office buildings, boat slips, restaurants,
retail and a luxury hotel with panoramic views over the Chesapeake Bay. Once completed, it
will be the largest waterfront redevelopment project in Annapolis. RMC is also engaged in
capital sourcing. Services include preparation of proprietary models for syndication of private
investor capital and complex financial structures suitable for institutional investors. Leveraging
a deep history of industry relationships, RMC identifies, qualifies, and recommends sources

Kenneth A. McIntyre Jr., Managing Director of MetLife is the Head of Real Estate Strategic
Initiatives. Ken’s responsible for developing strategic platforms to increase MetLife’s annual
production of commercial mortgages and real estate equities; to improve portfolio management;
and to increase the operating efficiency of the existing real estate infrastructure. Additionally,
Ken is responsible for further integrating the capabilities of the real estate department with
those of the rest of the Investments department and the Insurance infrastructure (such as product
development and distribution). MetLife has $35 billion of commercial mortgages and $10
billion of equity real estate in its portfolio.
Aasia Mustakeem, Real Estate Partner in the Atlanta office of Epstein Becker & Green
(“EBG”), serves on EBG’s National Real Estate Steering Committee and is a member of the
firm’s Distressed Asset and Workout Team. Ms. Mustakeem practices in all areas of commercial
real estate, including the representation of developers, purchasers and sellers in connection with
the acquisition, disposition and development of office, hotel, retail, industrial and mixed-use
projects. In addition, she has experience with transit-oriented and infrastructure development
projects, including sustainable infrastructure development and other sustainable energy projects.
She also has significant experience in connection with lease transactions, representation of
both borrowers and lenders in secured loan and workout transactions, and the representation of
companies nationwide in connection with the ownership, operation and finance of corporateowned real estate. Ms. Mustakeem also advises borrowers and lenders in connection with
financing transactions secured by real property, including resolution of defaults, forbearance
agreements and complex real estate restructuring. Ms. Mustakeem has been recognized for
several years as a Georgia Super Lawyer by Atlanta Magazine, as well as one of Georgia Trend’s
Legal Elite. She is also recognized in The Legal 500 (United States). A past chairperson of the
2,000 member Real Estate Section of the State Bar of Georgia and a Fellow of the American
College of Real Estate Lawyers, Ms. Mustakeem is active with numerous civic and community
organizations and serves on several boards of directors including those of Zoo Atlanta and the
Grady Memorial Hospital Corporation.
Quintin E. Primo III, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Capri Capital Partners LLC, a
real estate investment management firm headquartered in Chicago. The firm has approximately
$4 billion in real estate assets currently under management, representing pension funds,
governmental agencies and other institutional investors.
James H. Simmons III, Partner of AREA Property Partners, formerly known as Apollo
Real Estate Advisors and Managing Director of the $480 million Apollo Domestic Emerging
Markets (“ADEM”) Fund. Mr. Simmons has been closely associated with Apollo’s push towards
investing in residential and commercial assets located in Domestic Emerging Markets (“DEMs”),
which are the revitalizing urban cores of major growth cities in the U.S. including New York,
Los Angeles, Newark and Washington, D.C. To date, Apollo has acquired over $2.3 billion of
assets in DEMs and through the ADEM Fund vehicle will continue to further pursue transactions
in these markets. Mr. Simmons was previously the interim President & Chief Executive Officer
of the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone Development Corporation (“The Empowerment
Zone” or “UMEZ”). Mr. Simmons graduated with a Master of Management degree from the
J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, a Master of Science degree in Engineering from
the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in
Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Princeton University.
Kirk A. Sykes, President of Urban Strategy America Fund, LP, is the head of an urban
investment, development and redevelopment fund for select institutional investors. The Fund
is a true “triple bottom-line fund” that offers investors an opportunity to transform urban and
economic development areas in their states, regions and cities while achieving an attractive
return on their investment by prioritizing diversity in the asset types and locations in order
to maximize returns. Mr. Sykes is responsible for the supervision of the partnership equity
placement, the identification of investments and the day-to-day business operations of the
USA Fund. He combines his professional training and hands-on experience in the areas of
development, design and construction to create customized responses to the complex issues of
urban real estate development. His approach is grounded in the bottom-line driven perspective
gained during his tenure as a member of Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, Fleet Bank and
BankBoston’s First Community Bank Advisory Boards and various other for-profit and nonprofit board affiliations. His combination of business and community-based experience allow
him to bridge the competing concerns that sometimes block urban projects from moving
forward. His specialty is the creation of urban mixed-use developments.
Michael E. Tabb, Managing Principal of Red Rock Global, LLC, a full-service provider of
real estate transaction management, advisory and development services to real estate owners and
users. Red Rock specializes in the revitalization and repositioning of underserved communities
and underperforming assets.
