Dear Friends of St. Charles,
Welcome to the St. Charles Auction Gala — thank you for coming! Tonight promises to be a
wonderful opportunity support the outstanding spiritual and educational traditions of St.
Charles Borromeo Parish and School.
Enjoy live jazz music, savory treats, and delicious desserts. Wine, beer, and other adult
beverages are available, for, as Scripture says, “When taken freely, and at the proper time,
they bring joy to the heart, and good cheer and merriment" (Sir 31:28).
We invite you to fully enter into the events of the evening. Be it the exciting specialty games
of chance, the multiple raffle drawings, the silent auction/basket offerings, the enticing and
robust live auction segment, or the heartwarming Fund-A-Need appeal for the school —
there are so many fun and entertaining ways to participate with your generosity!
Of course, the St. Charles Auction Gala is so much more than a fundraiser. It is true that we
rely on your generosity to continue to offer the excellent ministries, programs, and academic
curriculum we’ve come to expect from St. Charles Parish and School. However, it is also a
celebration of who we collectively are — a Christian community with a higher purpose. As
the renowned spiritual author Fr. Henri Nouwen once noted, “Parishes and schools aren’t
just consumers of parishioners’ and parents’ money; they are conduits to investment in the
great mission of the Kingdom.”

All sales are final. We are unable to offer exchanges or refunds on
items (unless specifically noted). You may use cash, check, Visa,
MasterCard, American Express, or Discover to pay for your
purchases at the end of the evening.
Please note all information provided regarding expiration dates,
limitations, or restrictions of items or services. In the event that a
donor goes out of business after the auction, we apologize for the
inconvenience, but we have no recourse.
Best efforts were made to accurately describe the available auction
items. Descriptions are subject to change before the time of sale.
All items must be picked up tonight, and are sold “as is.” Display
boxes or prop stands are not included.
Buyers are responsible for consulting with their tax advisor with
regard to determining “fair market value” and tax
deductibility/accountability.

Silent Auction/Baskets
Silent Auction/Basket bidding will take place in the center of the gymnasium.
For your convenience, please take one of the item listing sheets located on the
silent auction tables. The sheet lists ALL the items, with handy check boxes to
keep track of items of most interest to you!
Bidding increases are pre-determined on the bidding sheets; please write only
your BID NUMBER when placing or advancing a bid.
Note: Any item is available for immediate purchase for the BUY IT NOW! Price
listed on the bid sheet. Please note the BUY IT NOW! Procedures outlined below,
or contact a Silent Auction staff person for assistance.
Silent Auction/Basket bidding ends at 8:00 pm.
Buy It Now (BIN)!
To exercise the BUY IT NOW option, contact a Silent Auction attendant about
your desire to buy the item for the BUY IT NOW price listed on the bid sheet.
The item bought will be marked as SOLD and its bid sheet removed.
BUY IT NOW still requires the bidder to go through the checkout procedures.

Checkout
Checkout will begin following the Live Auction and Fund-A-Need appeal. To avoid
long lines in the checkout area, please note:
Consider staying to socialize and enjoy the music.
First: Go to the checkout station, where you will receive a copy of your
invoice and make your final payment. Once reconciled, your invoice will be
marked “Paid,” and you may take your invoice to the Silent or Live Auction
Coordinators for item pickup.
Second: At either the Silent Auction or Live Auction Pickup Area — hand
your paid invoice to the respective coordinator for verification and to
receive your purchased items.

determine the gift category. If you wish, you will be allowed one opportunity to

course, players may participate multiple times — so “Let It Roll” — and support

Here is your chance to open “Pandora’s Box” — but this time the results are
romantically fabulous! A limited number of boxes are available for purchase, with
a chance to win a memorable night out with your special someone!
Before the Live Auction begins, the auctioneer will ask all box-holders to stand.
The winning number will be announced, and if it matches the number located on
the bottom of your purchased box, you are the winner! Multiple boxes may be
purchased.

Auction Procedures
To participate in the bidding process for any Silent Auction/Basket or Live
Auction item, you must have an assigned bid number. If you do not have one,
simply visit our registration/checkout team located in the hallway just outside
the gymnasium entrance.
All successful bidders must reconcile their accounts with the checkout team at
the end of the evening.
Please be sure to pay for and pick up your items before you leave tonight.

Fund-A-Need
This year, rather than one large cause, we have dual initiatives that the Fund-A-Need will
support at St. Charles School:
Upgraded Science Curriculum:
Our Science Review Team is taking science at St. Charles to the next Isobar. Next year we hope to implement
a brand new science program that will place our students at the cutting edge. This curriculum will include
texts and resources for student investigations and experiments.
Your generous donations will help us take our Science program to infinity and beyond!
Electronic Monument Sign/Building Signage for School:
"Where is St. Charles School?" This is a question we hope to put an end to by spotlighting our campus with
two high-impact signs: an electronic sign that we can update with current events, and a sign on the front of
the school building that identifies us much more prominently as “St. Charles Catholic School.” A group of
generous lead donors have given us a great start toward realizing this critical marketing initiative. Your
generous Fund A Need donations will help us stand out more than ever!
