@j Synthesizer
The Synthesizer Effects option allows you to enable the MIDI synthesizer. Using the MIDI synthesizer, you can
richly enhance the acoustic sound variations with features such as reverberation, chorus and variation.
Simply
I
click on the check-box associated with the desired feature.
The MIDI synthesizer utilizes the Wavetable sound generation method, supports the three command$ompatible
interface modes, and is fully compliant with the XG specification proposed by YAMAHA. Note that the addition of
the optional Sondius-XG will eliminate the use of virtual acoustic sources.

@ SONDIWXG
Unlike the MIDI synthesizer, the Sondius-XG produces acoustic sound outputs by running a virtual simulation of
the actual acoustic instrument operation. The output is thus more real since the Sondius XG does not use the
processed acoustic sound recordings generated by the Wavetable sound generator.
The DS-XG supports a single virtual acoustic sound source by combining the virtual acoustic sound signals with
MIDI data. However, you cannot select the virtual acoustic, sound source using DS-XG unless the optional
Sondius-XG is installed.
The Sondius-XG runs on PCs with Pentium II 233MHz or higher.

Playlist
The Playlist allows you to arrange CD tracks, MIDI songs, and WAVE sound files into a program of your choice.
Playback starts with the first item in the playlist and continues until all items have been played. The Play Mode can
be set to Repeat so that the playlist items are played repeatedly.
Click the LIST button on the Power Control component.
In the Playlist dialog box, shown below, arrange your CD, MIDI, and WAVE-data as desired.
You can enter the title of your CD.
Play Mode
When set to Single, the data in the play list is played once.
When set to Repeat, the data in the play list is played repeatedly.
Clicking the OK button saves the play list in the \Windows\Ystation.ini file. If the currently loaded CD is different to the
one specified in the play list, an error message appears. This means that the song name on the CD does not match
that in the play list. In this case you should edit the play list. Otherwise the error message will appear repeatedly.

Config
:
Click the CONFIG button on the Power Control component.
In the Config dialog box you can configure the YSTATION32.
Auto Play
When Auto Play is OFF, the WAVE, M,lDI, CD, and MIX components open when the YSTATION32 is started.
When Auto Play is ON, data registered in the play list plays sequentially when the YSTATION32 is started.
If Play Mode on the PlayList dialog box is set to Repeat and Auto Play is ON, data registered in the play list plays
repeatedly when the YSTATION32 is started.

FAQ
.
[Q] What is the advantage of the SoundTrack digital-XG 3D sound?
In order to execute the 3D algorithm, most PCI audio providers use the expensive DSP or RAM requiring silicon.
On the other hand, Digital XG was designed as low-priced goods without the quality loss of the performance
I
which is realized by the Hardware DSP using Positional 30 algorithm of the Sensaura(TM).
[P] Does the Digital-XG support multi-wave’ output?
/I
Designed as multi-channel type sound card, Digital-XG, can play the multi-sound. Multi-output can be realized in
the Direct sound mode and Wave Mapper as well.
But ke use of the multi-channel might result the sound quality loss.
I/
[Q] Bule screen on the MVP, VIS, SIS, ALI board.
-
Digital-XG is compatible with the MVP chipset well. The problem can be solved easily by patch
mainboard with the diskette or CD.
the
[Q] How can I remove the noise when playing Games?
To begin with, reduce the occupancy rate of the PCI VGA card.
Move to the control panel -> system -> performance -> graphic and lower the graphic accelerate mode.
Some graphics drivers continuously write data through the chip set’s host-bridge chip to the driver’s PCI-based
graphics controller-even if the controller is not ready to receive-until’the transfer succeeds. (The PCI 2.1
protocol allows this practice, although critics say it’s a bug.) Intel has measured latencies of up to 20 milliseconds
before the graphics controller receives the data. No other data destined for other PCI devices may travel through
the host-bridge output buffer until the graphics controller accepts its data, which is queued in the buffer.
As a result, audio- and video-playback devices can’t receive data from the CPU and system memory when they
. need to.
This syndrome can cause clicks and pops in audio, produce visual artifacts. in video, or kill the streams
altogether. Intel recommends that affected graphics board vendors make a minor modification to their drivers to
fix the problem. The upcomrng PCI 2.2 specification will eliminate the problem by restricting retries to IO.
microsecond latencies.
In order: to resolve this problem, reducing the PCI slot occupation of the VGA card could be the solution. Move to
the Control panel -> system -> performance -> graphic and lower the graphic acceleration or move to the control
panel -> YAMAHA DS-XG Audio Config and check on the Game Trouble Shooting in the Primary Buffer.
,[Q] Proper sound doesn’t come in the directsound 3D Games of the window 98.
When using the WDM driver under windows 2000, similar problem could be occur. In this case, move to control
panel -> system -> device manager -> sound, video, game controller and remove all driver installed and insert
install CD and run the Setup.exe from the \SOUNDV(G\WIN98\SETUP directory.
