The Civacon ROMLink™ “PLUG-N-LOAD”
System represents a major revolution in the
Overfill Detection World. Since the introduction
of overfill electronics on petroleum and other
product hauling tankers, OEM’s, Installers,
Repair Shops and End Users have been
frustrated by the way in which electronics and
other components are connected together in the
system. Unless the crimps are installed with
absolute precision, the longevity of the system is
compromised.
In the desire to eliminate this frustrating cycle,
Civacon has developed the ROMLink™ “PLUGN-LOAD” System. This system not only
improves trouble points, but eliminates them.

The Civacon Model GS1000
SAF-T Ground Bolt Kit
offers the safety, compatibility
and value you expect.
The Civacon Model GS1000 SAF-T Ground Bolt Kit
includes our Ground Verification Bolt for use on
Tankers that load at Terminals where the Loading
Rack Monitor requires a special modified signal as part
of their ground verification operation.
The Civacon Model GS1000 SAF-T Ground Bolt is a
direct replacement of other similar Ground Bolts, and
fully compatible with all Loading Rack Monitors that
require this type of device.
For proper operation, it MUST be securely fastened to
the tanker chassis, and wired to Pin No. 9 of the
Overfill Detection Sockets) to provide proper ground
verification.

Three Wire OCS System
All OCS Control Modules perform
continuous self-testing of all probes
for a dry condition, wet condition, or
faulted condition. All OCS Control
Modules perform continuous selftesting of the wiring between the
probes and controllers. All OCS
Control Modules continuously test for
broken wires, shorted ground wires,
shorted power wires, and shorted
signal wires. All OCS Control
Modules monitor for the proper input
signal and proper input voltage from
the rack monitor. OCS Control
Module will allow permit to load only
after proper signals are received from
the rack monitor.

5-Wire Optic Sensor. The new
sensor and housing includes
digital technology and improved
design features. This sensor is
the perfect fit for your overfill
detection needs.
Optic overfill sensors detect the presence of liquid at a preset
level. The new Civacon 5-Wire Sensor is fully compatible
with all our current 5-Wire Sensors and Monitors, as well as
all industry standard signal formats. These new Sensors
feature an exclusive, digital electronic circuitry design that will
work directly with 5-Wire loading racks when wired directly to
a blue WOGA1 or SAE J-560 style “optic” socket, as well as
with all Onboard Monitors like our Civacon Liberty™.
The new Civacon 5-Wire Sensors are a direct replacement
for our 5-Wire Liberty™ optic sensors. The new 5-Wire output
signal is compatible with the industry standard signal format,
which makes it the right choice for any of your 5-Wire overfill
detection sensor applications.
All of the features & benefits of these new sensors are also
available in our new 2-wire sensor version as well (see
separate data sheet).

Optic overfill sensors detect the presence of liquid at a preset
level. The new Civacon Socket Sensor is fully backward
compatible with our current Quick-Start™ Sensors and
Monitors, as well as all industry standard signal formats.
These new Socket Sensors feature an exclusive, nonpolarized digital electronic circuitry design that will work
directly with 2-wire (green plug) loading racks when wired
directly to a green “thermistor” socket, as well as with all
on-board Monitors like the Civacon ROM II. The sensor’s
non-polarized electronic design means not having to worry
about the sensor’s wire color or polarity anymore. The two
grey wires can be wired as either signal or ground
interchangeably. You can not wire it wrong!
The new Civacon Socket Sensors are a direct replacement
for our 2-wire, Quick-Start™ (white & black wire) optic
sensors. With their 2-wire industry compatible signal format,
they are a perfect choice for your 2-wire overfill detection
sensor applications.

The Scully Universal Truck Tester is the most
advanced and comprehensive truck tester
available. It checks the operation of tank truck
overfill prevention, and self-proving grounding
systems. Complete diagnostics limit the
expense of downtime.

the Intellicheck® System, The Load Anywhere®
System and the Liquidometer TABSTM System output.

1. The EBW 908-PF is a S.A.E. J-560 pattern
socket that conforms to API 1004 Standards.
3. When mounting socket housing using the holes
located inside of housing, a sealant should be used
around the mounting bolts to prevent moisture from
entering.
2. The wiring shown conforms to RP 1004
standards for controlling single stage "float switch"
type loading rack overfill control monitors. The user
should be aware that other wiring patterns do exist
that may prevent loading at these facilities,
therefore please consult your loading facility to
verify compliance with RP 1004.

4. The 6-32" screw located on outside of housing
should be in "top" hole when mounted to allow
drainage of condensation out the bottom hole.

10 WIRING INSTRUCTIONS - SOCKETS
Locate and mount the socket housings, using the bolt holes provided on the enclosure, in the vicinity of the
bottom loading adapters. Take into account the plug and cable that will be coming from the rack
monitoring equipment so that it does not interfere with the bottom loading adapters when connected.
Conduit openings are provided at the OBM so that each type of socket used may have its own conduit
connection only if the auxiliary inputs are not used. If the auxiliary inputs are used, use the convention
shown in Figure 2. It combines the Thermistor and Float outputs into one cable exit. This convention is
not required but will help in troubleshooting and tracing the system output if a problem should occur.
Cross reference the CIVACON part number of the socket to its proper wiring diagram and connect
accordingly (refer to Figures 6, 7, and 8 ). Please use the CIVACON Instruction Sheet H50200PA, which is
packaged with each socket, for additional reference information on the sockets.
Strain reliefs are recommended for all cable entry locations. Note that pipe plugs are required to be
installed in all of the openings which are not used for cable entry. A thread sealant is also recommended
to be used with each strain relief or pipe plug.

7TB4A, TB4B, & TB5-1, 3, 5 inputs are for simple switch mechanisms with NO inductance or
capacitance. They provide Intrinsically Safe circuits for passive switches or jumpers with NO
energy storing or discharging capability.

replacement 1350; plus special length versions of the same models with an "S" suffix.
9Auxiliary Output terminal (Aux Out of TB5-6) can be connected to Auxiliary Input of secondary
