Director’s Comments…...
It is with tremendous gratitude that I close 2015 with a huge THANK YOU
to Transylvania County. Your generosity, support and willingness to serve has
overwhelmed me this year. The first fundraiser helped us raise over $1000
dollars. I began my position with less than 20 volunteers. I now have 45 volunteers and counting. I ask, “How is this possible”? My answer is very
clear…..we live in a “special” place, a place where people care about their
community. Thank you all for caring about your center.
We are wrapping up 2015 with a final SOC fundraiser. Buy your tickets
now for a chance to win the AARP-designed RealPad. Tickets are on sale here
at Silvermont and they are 1 for $2 or 3 for $5. This also includes a nice leather cover case and free technical instruction with our Tech Guy. Are you ready
to step into the internet world? Here’s your chance...get your tickets soon.
As we celebrate the birth of Christ, let us be thankful for the opportunity
to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas, to go to the church of our choice
and to live in this amazing free country. In closing, I wish to thank my wonderful staff, volunteers and participants for your patience, positive attitudes,
understanding and support. I thank God for this opportunity to help others,
make new friends and lasting memories.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to All,
Chris Parker, Director– SOC
