of your enrolment. It is important for you to read through the guide carefully and
follow the instructions closely so as to ensure a smooth enrolment.
To confirm acceptance of the course you are posted to, please log in to the NYP
Online Enrolment System, which is available at our web page (www.nyp.edu.sg) to
complete your enrolment and submit all completed forms to us with relevant
documents by the date given in your Offer Letter.
The course commencement date for Academic Year 2016/17 is 18 April 2016.

You will be issued with a PIN as stated in your Offer Letter, which consists of the first
6 digits of your NRIC number or Passport number if you are an International Student.
You are advised to change your PIN to a number that you can remember during
your course of study in NYP.

Important Information | Personal Identification Number (PIN) for Online Enrolment
NATIONAL SERVICE (NS) LIABILITY
Prior to enrolment, you must obtain approval from Central Manpower Base (CMPB) or your
unit to pursue your studies in NYP:
NS Liable Male Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
 19 years as at 1 Jan of course commencement year (Sec 4 Express Stream Students)
 20 years as at 1 Jan of course commencement year (Sec 5 Normal Stream Students)
 21 years as at 1 Jan of course commencement year (ITE Students)
Bring your NYP Offer Letter to Deferment Section, CMPB to apply for NS deferment to
study in NYP.
Full-time NS Persons
If you wish to join us in Academic Year 2016/17, you are required to apply for
disruption from your unit.
Regular Service Persons
If you wish to join us in Academic Year 2016/17, you are required to apply for
disruption/no pay leave from your unit.
Exempted from NS
Obtain exemption letter from CMPB or your unit.
Upon receiving CMPB’s approval to defer your NS, please submit a copy of the approval
letter to the i@Central, Information & Service Centre, Blk A Level 1 for us to proceed with
your enrolment.
RESERVATION OF PLACE IN NYP

If you are unable to obtain approval of deferment/disruption/no pay leave, you are
not required to proceed with your enrolment. Please do not make any fees payment.

You can instead submit your request for reservation of place in NYP via the NYP Online
Enrolment System. Obtain a letter from CMPB or your unit certifying your enlistment
date or Operationally Ready Date (ORD) and send it to the i@Central, Information &
Service Centre. Your request for reservation of place will be confirmed once we
receive your submission. Confirmation letter of your reservation will be sent to you by
June 2015.

We will inform you if there are any changes to the course offered and reserved for you.
Changes would include renaming or discontinuation of course.

A new enrolment package will be sent to you in the appropriate academic year.
LETTER OF CERTIFICATION FOR NS DEFERMENT
If you need a letter of certification to apply for NS deferment, you may obtain this letter
from the i@Central, Information & Service Centre.

If you have been transferred to another course within NYP, your new course will be

package, no new enrolment package will be sent to you.
Withdrawal from Course
If you wish to withdraw from your course of study, please complete a Withdrawal
Form which is available at the i@Central, Information & Service Centre, Blk A Level 1.
Students below 21 years old are required to obtain parental/guardian consent.

(1) If you are not eligible or not accepting the MOE Tuition Grant, you have to pay Fees Payable (B)
- refer to the page on Information on Fees.
(2) If you are eligible and accepting the MOE Tuition Grant, you have to pay the correct fees under
Option A or B or C depending on the Financing Scheme(s) that you will be applying. Refer to the
table below and the pages on MOE Tuition Grant Scheme and Summary of Financing Schemes.

COLLECTION OF STUDENT’S PASS IN-PRINCIPAL APPROVAL (IPA) LETTER
Upon ICA approval as well as completion of your online enrolment and fees payment,
please collect your Student’s Pass IPA Letter from i@Central, Information & Service Centre,
Blk A Level 1.
If you are unable to collect the letter personally, you may appoint another person to
collect on your behalf. This person must bring along your authorisation letter and his/her
identity card or passport for verification.
Note: Dependant’s Pass holder is also required to apply for a Student’s Pass through SOLAR.

You must submit a photocopy of your Student’s Pass to NYP as the FIN number is required
for the processing of the MOE Tuition Grant and the Diploma Student Concession Card.
10 Step 3 – Other Enrolment Matters | Student’s Pass Application
PHOTOGRAPH SUBMISSION
(by deadline as stated in your Offer Letter)
Upon enrolment, you will be issued an identification card known as the Student
Card. The Student Card can be used to gain access to certain restricted areas
such as laboratories or project rooms and for attendance recording. It must be
produced for identification during examinations, class tests and also when using
the Library, sports and/or recreational facilities at NYP.
You need to submit to us a recent colour photograph (white background) without


shadow for your Student Card and Diploma Student Concession Card . Please
upload your photograph online via the NYP Enrolment website at
www.nyp.edu.sg/future-students/enrolment. The digital photo image must meet
the following specifications:
 in JPEG format (‘jpg’ extension)
 minimum dimension of 253 (width) by 331 (height) pixels
 file size not exceeding 100 KB
Please ensure that your facial features are clearly evident in the photograph
(see sample photo).

NOTES:
1. Log on to the NYP Online Enrolment System to check your
status that you are officially enrolled. Please ensure that you
have uploaded your photo online via the NYP Enrolment
website.
2. As a general guide, for students who have successfully enrolled
before mid-March, please check your eligibility from endMarch onwards.
For students who have successfully enrolled after mid-March,
please check your eligibility from mid-April onwards.
3. To apply at the TransitLink Ticket Office / Concession Card
Replacement Office, you will need to bring along the following:
 Original NRIC for Singapore Citizens; or
 Original NRIC/Re-entry Permit for Singapore Permanent
Residents; or
 Original Passport and Foreign Student Pass (FIN) for
International Students.
4. A fee of $8 (non-refundable) is payable at point of application
for the Diploma Student Concession Card:
• $5 for card cost
• $3 for personalisation fee
5. Please note that you will have to top-up a minimum of $10
travel value to activate your Diploma Student Concession
Card.
6. All full-time enrolled students are eligible to apply for
concessionary travel on buses, MRT and LRT with the Diploma
Student Concession Card. Please check the TransitLink website
for more information on the concession scheme.
7. To add value to your Diploma Student Concession Card for
concessionary use, you may go to any TransitLink Ticket Office
or Add Value Machines / General Ticketing Machines at MRT
stations and bus interchanges.

COMPANY SPONSORED STUDENTS
 Your sponsoring company is to officially inform NYP’s Admissions Office 14 days before
commencement of the semester. The Polytechnic will then bill the sponsor directly.
 Please do not apply for any of the Financing Scheme(s) i.e. CPF Education Scheme,
Mendaki Tertiary Tuition Fee Subsidy, Post Secondary Education Account Scheme, Tuition
Fee Loan Scheme, etc.
 You should still apply the MOE Tuition Grant unless your sponsoring company has

PAYMENT OF FEES FOR BILLINGS AFTER ENROLMENT

Payment by Interbank GIRO only.

Payment by cash will not be accepted.

Application for any Financing Scheme(s) namely, CPF Education Scheme, Mendaki Tertiary
Fee Subsidy and Tuition Fee Loan Scheme cover only Tuition Fees and DOES NOT cover the
Supplementary Fees. The Supplementary Fees have to be paid via GIRO.

For PSEA applicants, fees will be paid via GIRO if there is insufficient fund in the PSEA.
How to apply for GIRO
a) Complete the electronic Application for Interbank GIRO Form which is available at the NYP
Online Enrolment system. Please note that TRUST accounts are not eligible for GIRO
deduction.
b) Print out and complete the form.

1) Amendments, if any, are to be counter-signed by the account holder.

LATE PAYMENT FEES
A late payment fee of $15.00 will be imposed if:
(a) payment is not received by the due date stated on the online e-Bill which will be available
after semester starts; or
(b) approval to delay payment has not been obtained from the Registrar’s Office before the due
date stated on the online e-Bill.
If the fees are not paid by the date stated on the FINAL e-REMINDER, students may be subject to
ineligibility for examination/module credits for all modules registered for that semester in
accordance with Clause 7.1 of the Assessment (Credit Based) Regulations.

MOE TUITION GRANT SCHEME

The Singapore Government, through the Ministry of Education (MOE) provides Tuition Grant (TG) to assist
students in payment of the full course fees. All students who are eligible and accepting the MOE Tuition
Grant need to apply for the MOE Tuition Grant Scheme.
If you are NOT eligible or did NOT accept TG or did NOT complete the TG Agreement signing by the
below scheduled MOE Signing date, you will have to pay the FULL COURSE FEES and the GST thereon
(consisting of MOE Tuition Grant, Tuition Fees and Examination Fees (if applicable)) for your studies in

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE SCHEMES
NYP STUDY LOAN SCHEME (not applicable to NYP Foundation Programme Students)
This scheme is open to all full-time students who are Singapore Citizens and Singapore
Permanent Residents with *Monthly Per Capita Income ≤ $2,700. The loan is for any 2
consecutive semesters and comprises TWO components:
Component A: A loan of up to 25% of subsidised tuition fees payable
(excluding supplementary fees)
Component B: A loan of up to $2,000 for any 2 consecutive semesters to meet living
expenses

POINTERS TO NOTE BEFORE YOU APPLY
 You must be a full-time student who has taken up the Tuition Fee Loan Scheme
and/or CPF Approved Education Scheme and/or Post-Secondary Education
Account (PSEA) and/or your subsidy from the Mendaki Tertiary Tuition Fee
Subsidy Scheme.
 Your application for the Study Loan will only be processed upon submitting
complete supporting documents and confirmation that your application for the
above-mentioned schemes has been approved.
 To apply for the loan, the applicant is required to secure a guarantor who
should preferably not already be a guarantor for more than 2 loans and shall
be above 21 years but not exceeding 60 years old. Applicant who is a

NYP NEU PC PLUS PROGRAMME

This scheme is open to all full-time students of the Polytechnic with a gross monthly household
income that does not exceed $3000 or per capita income (MPCI)# of ≤$800 ($875 if there is a
permanently disabled household member). It provides students the opportunity to own a brand
new notebook/computer at subsidised rate. The subsidy is cap at 50-75% (depending on MPCI)
of the notebook/computer price. For Singaporean, remaining amount to be paid by students
could be further subsidised by the Opportunity Fund (subject to the availability of the fund)

 Aged 25 and below;

years deployment. NYP students, who do not own a notebook may apply regardless of the
fact that their household are current beneficiaries of a PC bundle under the NEU PC Plus
Programme offered by IDA. Consideration and approval is given on a case by case basis.
