BACKGROUND:
The Rotary Club of Palatine wishes to hold their annual Oktoberfest Celebration on
Friday, September 18, Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20.
KEY ISSUES:
The Rotary Club of Palatine is requesting a temporary liquor license for the sale of
alcoholic beverages (Beer and Wine) at their Oktoberfest Celebration on Friday,
September 18, Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20.
The hours will be:
 Friday, September 18: 5:00 p.m. to Midnight.
 Saturday, September 19: Noon to Midnight.
 Sunday, September 20: Noon to 4:00 p.m.
ALTERNATIVES:
1. Approve the request.
2. Recommend different hours.
RECOMMENDATION:
Action is at the discretion of the Commission.

Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church's Annual 'Greek Fest' on
June 26-28, 2015

BACKGROUND:
St. Nectarios is requesting a temporary liquor license to sell alcoholic beverages at their
annual festival to be held on the grounds of their church at the southeast corner of
Palatine and Roselle Roads. They are requesting to sell liquor during the following days
and hours:
Friday, June 26: 4 PM to Midnight
Saturday, June 27: 11 AM to Midnight
Sunday, June 28: 11 AM to Midnight
KEY ISSUES:
Any approval should be contingent upon anyone involved in the sale or serving of
alcohol being required to complete the Village of Palatine Liquor Ordinance Compliance
Online Course (BASSET).

up the drive thru on Friday at 4:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday at 11 AM. At this point,

With this letter, we kindly request the village of Palatine for permission to serve alcoholic
beverages, temporary waive of the sound amplification ordinance and the wave of fees
for any carnival games and rides in conjunction with the festival. We are also requesting
a waiver on signage. We will be putting up the signs 2 days before the picnic at
intersections that we will predetermine and will be taken down on Monday June 29th,
2015.

Alcoholic beverages will consists of beer, wine, Metaxa and Ouzo (Greek specialty
liqueurs). Hard liquor will not be served.
Drive thru will run the same way as last year. Attached you will find the traffic patterns
along with a preliminary layout.
As you know Greek Fest is the most important fund raiser our church has during the year.
The needs of our church have grown with the expansion so the success of our Greek Fest
is vital. Over the years, the community of St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox
Church is proud to be integral part of Palatine. On behalf of St. Nectarios, I want to
thank you very much for your continued support.
