All models in this range are usually available from stock, including split sizes.

Rehabilitation Footwear
Piedro® rehabilitation shoes are made on extra
depth lasts. They provide extra support
through medial and lateral extended heel
stiffeners and a removable, anatomically
shaped full length foot-bed.

Piedro® stability footwear has a high and
extended corset stiffener. This fixates the
subtalar joint and stabilises the talo-crural
joint. The extra depth last gives enough
space for the removable Piedro® stability
footbed which can be replaced by individual
orthotics.
The special sole construction enables the
specialist to detach the sole unit from the
upper part which makes it possible to do
adjustments to the sole unit.
The individual foot comes first, this can be
done through close cooperation between
orthopaedic specialists and orthopaedic
shoemakers.

Reverse Lasted Footwear
Piedro® reverse lasted correction footwear is
designed to correct feet with extreme varus
and/or adduction. This correction is achieved
by the special last shape. Inside, the shoe is
equipped with a special inlay which, in combination with an extended medial stiffener
forms a curved wall in conjunction with the
toe cap, prevents the foot progressing further
into adduction. At the same time, abduction
of the foot will be stimulated.
This product is especially important for
children who are born with clubfeet;
treatment with reverse lasted shoes will help
their feet to develop normally.

Children's AFO Footwear
Piedro® AFO footwear is made specially for
children who need to wear an AFO or innershoe. The bio-mechanical requirements of
the shoe are of major importance and our last
is constructed to ensure correct position of
the lower limb at an exact 90° angle and
allows enough room for an AFO.
Extra space at the front of the shoe allows for
an AFO to be accommodated properly. At the
rear, extra space is provided for the heel part
of the AFO to ensure that it fits well and does
not move within the shoe.

BioFit® Biomechanical Functional Inlay Triple System
Most children are born with feet which, with normal growth and development, become both structurally stable and functionally efficient.
If developmental problems occur which affect this structural stability, the function may well be impaired. Previous research has shown
that permanent correction is due to development but there is also evidence to suggest that persistent abnormal function results in
pathological structural changes. The longer structural and functional abnormalities go uncorrected, the more extensive are the adaptive
changes in bones, joints and soft tissue.
During normal gait, the sub-talar joint moves from supinated at heel strike towards pronated at mid-stance, and then back towards
supinated at toe-off. The range of these motions in the sub-talar joint determines the subsequent attitude and behaviour of the foot
under weight bearing. Excessive pronation or supination can be influenced by intrinsic factors e.g. rearfoot/forefoot varus, and extrinsic
factors, e.g. genu valgum/varum, as well as developmental delay due to cerebral palsy for example. Our inlay range is fully compatible
and recommended for use with all Piedro® footwear.
