LV Equipment for Industrial Solutions > Schneider Electric brand migration Our brand history Now is the right time for brand migration Today Schneider Electric sells products and services under 120 brands worldwide. The pillars of Schneider Electric are three historic brands: Merlin Gerin, Telemecanique and Square D. In the past 15 years, numerous companies have been acquired by Schneider Electric to win market share by enlarging the offer or penetrating new markets or new channels. A big part of the company’s growth comes from external acquisitions. Our new mission is to become the global solution provider in energy management, making energy safer, more reliable, more efficient and more productive. It has to be under one name Schneider Electric. A few key dates 1836: foundation of the Schneider Company 1975-1988-1991: 3 historic brands, Merlin Gerin, Telemecanique and Square D, joined Groupe Schneider. 1999: Lexel, a worldwide leader in the Installation, Systems and Control (ISC) business, joined the company, showing our strong decision to develop ISC business in Europe. 1999: the company launched a new identity: Groupe Schneider became Schneider Electric. 2003: TAC joined the company. Schneider Electric became the main player of building automation. 2003: Clipsal joined the company. Schneider Electric became the ISC leader in Asia. 2006: Global acquisition of Citect by Schneider Electric. With history spanning over 35 years, Citect remains focused on delivering value to our customers through technological excellence and superior service. 2007: APC joined the company, combining with MGE. Schneider Electric became the world leader in critical power. 2007: Pelco joined the company. Schneider Electric became the world leader in video security systems. 2007: Schneider Electric South africa acquired RBF, in order to position Schneider Electric as a Solutions Provider in South African market, with a manufacturing footprint. 2 To better support our global strategy, in 2008 we have begun an ambitious project to shift most of our brands to a single brand: Schneider Electric. > Our company is moving from a product provider to a solution provider and solutions must be promoted under one brand. > The Schneider Electric name has gained significant respect and awareness over the years. > Recognition of Schneider Electric has surpassed its historical brands in most countries, with only a few exceptions. A single name and a new image A new communication platform has been developed and implimented to strengthen our new strategy and to support the brand migration. The aim is to make the brand visible and to express its vision, mission, spirit and values to our employees, our customers and our partners. The change in look and feel concerns all communication aspects and product packaging and marketing. > We see a world where we can all achieve more with using less. > We help people make most of their energy. > We want all our products, solutions and services to be safe, simple, efficient and innovative. Todays switchboard is at the crossroad of internal and customer demand for increasingly sophisticated applications on the one side, and external demand related to changes in legislation on the other side. The switchboard must be capable of adapting to both environmental constraints and difficult operating conditions. Above all, it must also incorporte the technological advantage to carry it forward into the future. 10 • Segregated modular construction • Main busbars up to 7300 Amps • Dropper busbars up to 4000 Amps • Fixed, semi-withdrawable or fully withdrawable pattern • Up to form 4b separation • Degree of protection IP31/41/54 • Rated insulation voltage 1000V AC • Internal arc tested 100kA/300mS • Earthquake tested • IEC 61439/SANS 1973-1 compliant • Impulse withstand 12kV • Short circuit withstand 150 kA/1 Sec + Todays Switchboards are packed with technology... Junction boxes Field isolators Features Features Our junction box range satisfy most requirements in that they are manufactured from a choice of materials which include mild steel, stainless steel or glassfibrereinforced polyester. A wide range of standard colours and specials are available on request. Protection standard of the boxes vary from IP54 to IP65. Dimensions vary in accordance with the number and size of terminals, and generous provision is made for cabling spaces and terminations. Trunking is provided for field cabling and the boxes come complete with fixed or removeable gland-plates. Our range of field isolators cover a wide spectrum of applications, with current ratings from 20A to 1250A at 690V. The enclosures are manufactured from a choice of materials which include mild steel, stainless steel or glassfibre-reinforced polyester. A comprehensive range of accessories are available, including push-buttons, indicating lights, ammeters and terminals. Each isolator features a door-interlocked handle and auxiliary contacts to suit requirements. Protection standard of the enclosures vary from IP54 to IP65, depending on application. The equipment used is selected in accordance with IEC60947 specifications and meets local and international standards. Mining type field isolators have removeable glandplates and drip covers. Optional features include drip covers, special door locks and a range of accessories. 15 63A Interlocked Switch Socket Outlets (380 / 525V) Junction boxes Features Our Socket Feeders are of composite design featuring a high-quality steel enclosure to IP 55 degree of protection complete with transparent window to check the status of the 30mA earth leakage circuitbreaker which is fully shrouded for protection against accidental contact. The unit can accommodate cables up to 95mm2. A 10mm diameter brass earthing stud is also provided for termination inside or outside the enclosure. Cable entry is via a removable top or bottom entry glandplate, with a standard finish of durable epoxy coating in electric orange. The switch sockets are mechanically interlocked units which are manufactured from cast aluminium and epoxy coated in electric orange, alternately thermoplastic materials can be used. These sockets are of heavy duty design and are also suitable for outdoor installation, featuring high quality materials throughout. Special safety feature + An incorporated earth leakage circuit breaker unit will detect a fault and trip to isolate the socket where the actual fault occurs, namely of the plugged-in equipment, and not at the distribution board, which may be far distanced. In additon, the tripped feeder will only render one user out of order and not a chain of sockets as in the case where an earth leakage unit protects a chain of socket outlets. SPECIFICATIONS IEC 309 CEE17 BS 4343 DIN 49462 SANS 1239 Note We can manufacture a comprehensive range of feeders to the clients specifications, utilising different makes of circuit-breaker and/or earth leakage unit complete with shunt trip, indication etc. Electrical data Type no.
